Two more ARCs done and two in progress (I think I‘m starting a fun romance kick). If I didn‘t keep getting new books from NetGalley, I‘d be making progress on my ARC reading goals 😅 #netgalley #netgalleygroup

It‘s a stressful day at the end of a very stressful week and apparently I decided buying purple books is the cure? All of them have cute page edges too! If only I could read all 3 at once… 💜
One of the black foster kittens was very helpful at work today… still trying to tell them apart but I‘m getting there!
Two of my new foster kittens helping me read this today (staying on top of those NetGalley goals with some very old approvals!)
I stayed up way too late last night with this one, ignoring the other 4 books I‘m reading, and I just want get back to it instead of this “work” thing I‘m doing. I don‘t like true crime in real life, but give me some true crime junkies in fiction and I‘m so there! 🕵️📚
Three reviews down… but I have about a dozen more to write and probably another dozen books half finished that I‘ll work on during the #netgalleygroup #readathon
My goal is to get all those reviews written and posted and finish (and review) at least 3 of my started ARCs during the July readathon.
Still barely a dent in 343 titles but it‘s so hard to resist requesting things that sound good!!
I‘m at work (hence the desk chaos which I MUST clean up today) but all I wanna do is keep reading. Her last one was meh IMO but THIS is the Ashley Herring-Blake I know and love and it‘s sooooo sweet and cute so far.
@Bookwormjillk I‘m sorry for the delayed opening! Just got back from Portland and ripped right into it. The books both look so good, and I love the little seashells and seed papers! Also that is my FAVE candle company and I haven‘t tried Sm‘oreos, I‘m super excited for both. Thank you for a great New England beach trip (that postcard took me right to Watch Hill ❤️❤️) #staycationswap
I forgot to take a post office pic so please “enjoy” this terrible shot of a local bookstore from my drive home from said mailing. My #Staycationswap is on its way!
My #staycationintimeswap has arrived safe and sound! 🎉Super excited to open it (and super anxious about the last items on their way so I can mail my own out 😅) @Bookwormjillk
It‘s a cold rainy day here, perfect for reading and kitty snuggles under the warmest blanket!
My current reads feel like an interesting mix, but it‘s weird not to have a thriller going too!
I feel like every photo of actual reading has Amelia lying on me 😂
This was a Powell‘s find, I‘d picked it up and put it back like 3 times so I figured I was meant to buy it. It‘s a little smutty, with a very sweet relationship between two one night stand-ers on a reality show together. Lots of dance (ballet and burlesque). Love that it‘s written by a married couple and set I mainly in Oregon!
Spent a long weekend in Seattle and stopped at the beautiful bonsai and rhododendron garden in Tacoma. These were our favorite of the flowers we saw. The tagged was mostly read in the hotel and is super cute so far. I also picked up a few new books at Pike Place and a cute bookstore on Bainbridge Island (after a heavy Powell‘s haul last weekend 😅😅)
Quickie book and lunch break. Is there anything better than a punny cozy title? 😂 🍕
Me: I have to finish this by Tuesday because not only is it book club, but I picked the book. And I‘m enjoying it!
Also me: Ooh what‘s new on the internet?!?
I wish Amelia would confiscate my devices 😝
Did I perhaps go overboard with my #bookhaul from one of my favorite used bookstores this weekend? Maybe yes? But also no because I did trade in a huge bag of books so I only spent $60, and their mystery selection is sooooo gooood!! 🤷♀️ #bookhaulmath
Amelia warming my lap while I skip yoga to finish this book. It‘s not moving that fast and yet it‘s compelling? I don‘t know why I‘m so hooked 🤷♀️
Working my way through the oldest of my unread BOTM selections this week. I bought one new book and took out three library books but I‘m still clearing some shelf space (that pile is all finished, needs a new home and it‘s much taller than the picture lets on!)
Amelia in the cat bed made my day. She‘s not usually a cat bed girl.
Next up! And I managed to make a sort of an omelet (my nemesis, they always end up just scrambled eggs 😂)
Perfect (purrrrr-fect?! 😹) way to start an extra weekend day. This book is different than Hendrix‘s others (less creepy and gross, more character driven) but we‘re enjoying it!
The kittens finally settled down for the night (maybe) so I‘m gonna read for a bit…
Does anyone else immediately start singing that song from The Little Mermaid when they see the cover of this book? Just me? 😅 Like, every time I pick it up to start a new chapter or whatever? 🤣🤣
My Feb #BOTM picks. I‘m excited about all three of them and it‘s gonna be hard to pick what to read first…
Not book related but wanted to share some more cute kitten content. It‘s been a rough week, we deserve kittens. ❤️
Reading with Amelia (she‘s mostly just as cranky as she looks but we love her)
I‘m fostering three kittens as of this morning and trying to get some holiday reading in has been a bit challenging 😂😂
I tidied up my office before starting my new job (!!!) this week and figured I‘d make a tentative TBR stack for this month. Here‘s what I came up with ☺️
From this afternoon, cozied up with my girls and this book on the kindle iPad app. Hope everyone‘s having a chill Xmas!!
I *love* the tagline on this book, it cracks me up 😂😂
So far, I‘m flying thru and it‘s super cute and fun ❤️
(In case it‘s not readable in the pic: “Why date a mountain man? Because he knows how to pitch a tent.” 😂
Snuggled up for some reading - I‘m a little fuzzy on my memory of the previous two books, but this one is still holding up so far!
Xmas book, Xmas tree, Xmas Story leg lamp, and two cats (Amelia investigating, Chloe lap sitting) 🎄 ❤️
Took myself on a little mid-chore/errand lunch date and if there‘s a bakery next to the brewery, you might as well get dessert and keep the break going, right?!
I started this today and was enjoying it, but after a while it almost felt like the author was making fun of Molly, making her just TOO gullible and oblivious… I dunno but I put it aside and I‘m reading my creepy BOTM instead (and I eyed the attic hatch pretty hard just now 😅)
Another day, another sneaking off for beer and a book. Plus my new fave shirt (it‘s so soft)
The best part about being unemployed is stuff like random midweek midafternoon beer and a book solo dates (the worst thing is that I shouldn‘t really be buying beers OR books, but this is a library book so 😝)
It‘s cozy season! This one is set in August so it‘s a little summery to be a #seasonalcozies read but Chloe & I are diving in anyway.
It‘s been pouring all morning, so it was a pancakes and cute romance sort of day, but now the sky is clearing so I should start thinking about errands (after a few more chapters, it‘s such a sweet book so far!!)
Husband has covid and I‘m not feeling great either…. so everything is a mess and we‘re isolated to separate floors of the house unless this test says I have it too. 😅
At least I have plenty of books! Finished Horror Movie and The Scent Keeper both yesterday (4 and 3 stars respectively) and started the tagged, which is perfect sick day reading. Plus my new merino Bombas came and I have cozy feet!
It‘s a perfect day and such a good view for some front porch reading (imagine you can hear the sea lions and the traffic though 😂)
My husband is going away for a week so I made some plans of my own…
I totally forgot that I went crazy with my #botm order this month and now I don‘t know what to read first! 😅
Finished this spicy romance outside with my sweet old lady Edie-cat, who has been loving yard exploring on her harness
The girls hung out with me while I did a face mask and continued blazing through this book today.
I‘m also reading The Book of Love and I love it so much I don‘t want to finish it so I haven‘t picked it up in a couple days 😂😂 That‘s a first for me I think. Anyone else do that?!
It‘s my second to last day as an unemployed person before I finally start a new job (🙌🙌) so I‘m enjoying a little brunch out with my book - it‘s really good so far and these tacos are amazing. The delicious tea is magnolia oolong 💕
They just make it so tempting to lie here and read, even when it‘s nice out!
This book is kinda scratching my Judith Krantz itch… totally frothy fun with twists and rich people behaving badly and a tropical island setting.
I *should* be doing about 20 other things but it‘s pouring rain and the cats are very convincing that reading in bed is a good life choice, so I‘m just going to maybe finish this book before I get motivated. (This one is cute! I get a little annoyed with some of her over the top descriptions - I get it, dude is large, you have a crush - but it also made me go awwww and fondly remember being pregnant,… 22 years ago!!)
1- Nope
2- Not really. I think relationships are more about the work you put into them than a magical “right” person, and no one gets a perfect match.
3 - I‘m not a big Valentine‘s person so I guess just a nice dinner? Maybe get dressed up and get some compliments? 😂
