I loved Gaylin‘s Brenna Spector series, but I wasn‘t sure about this living up to my expectations (I‘m thinking about another Chelsea Cain situation here I think - something just kinda good after a series that I was obsessed with) So far, though, I‘m wrong - and might finish this in one sitting because I need to know what‘s happening next!! (PS hi unicorn comfy pants!)
Posting my #BFC2022 goals for the first time in forever because I really want to be accountable this month!! April was tough because I had terrible sciatica and spent a lot of time just managing that. Though I did ok with veggies near month end.
Book goal: finish at least 5 from my big library stack
Health goals: PT every other day, yoga 5x week, walks 3x week… but really just keep MOVING. And keep eating my veggies 😅
(Current read tagged)
Very much enjoying this matchmaker detective story and its NYC setting and quirky, smart, funny heroine (and her family) I‘m about halfway through, but so far two 👍👍, even if Amelia isn‘t so sure about it.
Currently reading 📚 for book club 📚 plus unrelated pic of my husband on our Oregon trip a few weeks ago. I‘m still thinking about those trees and beaches… 🌲 🌊 Side note: I‘m reading a lot this year and started buying too many books, but haven‘t been writing reviews (or posting here). Anyone else feel like their reading is still “off”? 😳 Each pandemic year has brought such strange reading changes for me.
Solo lunch date today - so far this book is so cute and fun!
Thank you @Chrissyreadit for my #littlechristmasswap - I‘ve been dying to read this book and both the chocolates look AMAZING. I‘m having a rough week with my anxiety so opening this was such a nice treat ♥️
Thank you so much for my #jolabokflod gift @BethM !! The chocolate sounds so delicious and I‘m excited to dive into the sweet book (plus, bonus adorable teas!!). Merry Christmas! 🎄
Gratuitous library cart shot to say I got my #littlechristmasswap (thanks @Chrissyreadit I think!) and my #JolabokaflodSwap (from the mysterious Edna the Elf?!!!) and I think I forgot to post both so I‘m sorry if you were stalking but they are here safe and sound!!
Thank you @Bookgoil - I love my #wintersolsticeswap !! The tagged book 📕 looks perfect for cozy winter break reading (how lucky am I to have gotten a kids‘ librarian as my swap partner? Cool teen lit for the win!!!). I‘ve already broken into the cookies 🍪 and the chai ☕️ will be 100% happening later today - in the tub with my favorite bath 🛁 bomb brand and a yummy-smelling candle 🕯 perhaps? 🤗 ♥️
Combined Litsy swap/group update post…. 🤗
My #WinterSolsticeSwap #littlechristmasswap and #JolabokaflodSwap packages all went out today (along with some Xmas cards to my family since still no big gathering this year 😢) Now to finish my #LMPBC and get that out the door (sorry @Readergrrl @Hazel2019 @Butterfinger - I‘m so close! Plus I got my December book in today‘s mail so I really gotta get cracking!)
It‘s here! Amelia says “do not open it yet, I‘m watching you…”. Thanks @Bookgoil ❄️ ❄️ ❄️
#wintersolsticeswap
Headed down the alley toward the Bodleian! Got to hit the gift shop but didn‘t have time for the tour this time…. Oxford has been amazing fun and now we‘re in London. ❤️
1 Cliche but Narnia ❤️
2 Very grateful for the day off today because I‘m jet lagged from a quick CA trip for work and headed out to England Sunday (for vacation) so my body needs this day of rest!!
Thanks for the tag @kspenmoll — better late than never right?? Tagging any other latecomers who want to play #wondrouswednesday
I went a little swap crazy this year, but no one ever buys me books so I feel it‘s justified 😆 and I‘m really looking forward to all 3 of these!
#JolabokaflodSwap @MaleficentBookDragon
#LittleChristmasSwap @bookish_wookish
#WinterSolsticeSwap @Chrissyreadit @sprainedbrain
@Readergrrl @Butterfinger @Hazel2019
I‘m going old school kinda feminist poetry for my potential picks (partially based on really liking the covers). Anyone have thoughts on any of these?
#LMPBC Group U
🎃 My #Hauntedhollowswap is kitty approved and i agree with Amelia‘s assessment!! @rsteve388 you NAILED the books - just finished my current read and I‘m starting the tagged as soon as I hit post! The candle smells amazing, I‘m obsessed with the tote (new library bag! I have holds to pick up…), and Reese‘s are my jam. 🎃 Thank you!! 🖤 #HHS
Totally unrelated but I got my #HauntedHollowSwap package AND started getting my new tattoo today, and the tattoo pic is cooler than the box pic 😂😂 (though I am super excited for #HHS opening day!!) I think it‘s from you @rsteve388 ?
When your nails and your sweater kinda match your book (and my phone and my bra and my shower curtain… I feel like my life is honestly mostly this color family 😆)
First day at my new job after NINE (!!) years at my previous company so comfy sweater and some chill reading time first is a must (so nervous, had nightmares)
Tagged! It‘s a #blameitonlitsy pick
Tough one but maybe raspberries?
I‘m really hoping for another book in Bailey Cattrell‘s Enchanted Garden mysteries, and also looking forward to the final(?) Aurora Cycle book.
Today I am grateful for so many things including: looking forward to starting a new job (after 8+ years in this company!!), yoga and beer plans with a friend tomorrow, and fall on the horizon.
#wondrouswednesday
Me, very sweaty in the Key West cemetery. Reading the tagged book on the plane/by the pool and just hoping we don‘t get sick because we have April vaccines and no booster yet. 🤨
First swap in a long time so I thought answering these might be helpful to my match! ☺️
1 We used to but not haven‘t forgot a few years
2 I do but I own too many pairs
3 Pink and green, but really into red for house stuff
4 Scarves! ❤️
5 Don‘t really have one
6 My son‘s first Halloween I made him a Max costume (from Where the Wild Things Are) and it‘s got a special place in my heart
7 Yay… but I look terrible in hats 😆
#HHS
My Friday evening plans. Plus baked feta pizza with tomatoes from the overgrown garden behind this pic. 🥰
Reading with my mom‘s puppy while I wait for showtime for the Black Widow. He‘s the sweetest little big guy!
The remnants of my snack dinner and three favorite creepy books I ordered to replace lost/loaned copies. I had a minor surgery today so will be snuggled up in bed reading my heart out all weekend 🥰
I love this place (and my fun pink hair)
Thanks for the tag @Sharpeipup -it‘s been a second Monday sort of Tuesday so I needed some fun 😉
1- I love books set in places I‘ve been - Maine and New Orleans come to mind as favorites.
2 - I tend to read a lot of romance, typically about females, but I don‘t really have a preference. I do hate when an author if one gender writes another gender badly though!
#two4tuesday @TheSpineView
This one took me a minute to get into and now it‘s like I‘m itching to read it and see what happens next - it‘s soooo good. I‘m also slowly getting into wine. My favorite are the 19 Crimes and I‘m partial to Snoop‘s Cali Red (plus I get to say Snoop Wine.... 😉) 🍷 📚 ♥️
Up close and personal #catsoflisy reading buddy to start this fun mystery with tonight (Amelia is directly behind her, Edie shoved herself in between us to be thisclose 💕)
Non-book post but I am teaching this workshop tonight at 6 pm EST. So if you wanna be your own valentine... 💕❤️💕

You guys, I am *loving* this book. Enough that I risked the claws by infiltrating Amelia‘s cat bed with it for a picture 😹 #catsoflitsy
#BFC21 Month one done!
Work‘s been exhausting week so I fell off my goals this last week but I‘m being gentle with myself and adapting.
Feb goals:
🌟 Movement and meditation daily (cont from Jan)
🌟 Finish Jan and Feb #TBRDeckOfCards books (list in comments)
🌟No late night snacking!
🌟Try a new/different veggie or fruit every week
Here‘s my BFC21 January check-in...
Goals: daily movement and meditation, reading my own shelves more.
Movement: slowly making my way thru my “21 day” Pilates challenge - I‘m not doing it every day but I‘m still noticing strength gains! I‘ve walked or practiced yoga or most days in addition to Pilates (or instead of!), only missed one day.
Meditation daily ✔️ (rec Medito app, I like it!)
Books off my shelf: 1 done, 2 in progress
Love this giveaway! Tagged was everyone in book club‘s favorite, even those who don‘t normally agree. #goodbyebotm @Hooked_on_books
Monday night bathtub self care (plus my 21 day Pilates challenge is kicking my butt and hot water helps!!) I‘m loving this book so far - her writing is just so good even though this one is VERY different. And Julius is always delicious. 😉
So mayyyybe these are not #BFC21 goals but donuts in the sunshine with my mom and son are #lifegoals 😆
This first week I have meditated and moved my body every day (my 2 general fitness goals). I didn‘t set a solid book goal, but I did clean up my currently-reading and started a few new books, including the tagged. I also got a healthy meal prep cookbook and set up Everyplate delivery to help us stop eating so much takeout. Feeling good!
I did open this yesterday but then I spaced in posting (New Year‘s hangover anyone else??) @A_planNerd this was a great box!! I love the fuzzy socks and bath stuff is my jam and all these books sound soooo good! Thanks for making my New Year‘s quit a lot better! (PS I didn‘t take pictures of the wrapping but it was GORGEOUS!!) #bestof2020
Thanks for the tag @TheSpineView !!
1) I wanted to get the tagged from the library and waited... and waited... hopefully a hold that comes in for January...
2) I just feel like it was a weird reading year. Inconsistent. I got distracted constantly and put down a LOT of books and read super slow. So I guess I regret not having more focus and a better handle in my TBR. I am a mood reader and 2020 was a MOOD 🤣🤣
#Two4Tuesday
Re-reading this with all 3 kitties curled up in bed with me. Today is a laaaazy reading day for now, but then I have so much Xmas cleanup (small but still messy this year...)Happy Holidays Litsy friends!!
@Jeshara Thank you so much for my #craftsandcozies #craftandcozy package! The crafts look perfect - low commitment big reward 😆 And I‘m so excited for all 3 of these books - I totally started the tagged before sending a copy for another swap and the other two are 100% up my alley 😍
Amelia is hanging with me while I drink iced chai and alternate between these two. I‘m on vacation (well, STAYcation) all week and trying to make a dent in the TBR so I went a little nuts while I can still get library books (one of my locals is completely closing for at least two weeks).
I‘m late to the party on this one - but I just finished it last night and it was so good!!! I loved the gothic elements and how it turned into something even creepier as the story went on.
I just wanted find share this hilarious random picture of me at 17 next to me at 40 😆 because I needed to use something to tell @Mommamanzi and @Jeshara that I got my box and Sarah, your #craftsandcozies package shipped and should be there Saturday. 🙌
I think I finally got (momentarily) tired of a steady comfort diet of cozy mystery and romance and I‘m looking for more substance; so these are my potential Sunday afternoon brain food picks. I feel like the pandemic is starting to be untenable again and I‘m in full on hibernation mode but I‘m not liking it.
Non-bookish post, but my sister‘s dog got hit by a car this weekend. She‘s hanging in there, but her care is racking up some crazy bills and we made a GoFundMe to help support her stay at Tufts including some upcoming surgery as soon as she‘s stable enough. No pressure obviously but I know there are some dog lovers here - and even if you just keep her in your thoughts it‘s appreciated.

Took the boy the Apple store to get his phone fixed. Brought a book to read in the car while I wait. And then realized I grabbed the book I just finished instead of the next one in the series. 🥺 Thank goodness for ebooks on my phone!!
One of my familiars “helping” with my teabag string. 🙂 I‘m reading this, making lemon bars, stress texting my mom and sister, and trying to ignore CNN tonight (if I hear “the road to 270 one more time...). #catsoflitsy
Sending everyone else waiting out the election results positive vibes! 😘
