I‘ve loved every book by this author that I‘ve read, so I had to make it my choice for August‘s #fictionaltraveler! It‘s set in Key West ☀️

This sounds fun and is set on a Mediterranean cruise so I‘m making it my choice for #thematiccozies for August!
This is my choice for August for #readordonate! I‘ve liked other books by this author so extra incentive to read this one is good!
A really great story about found family! I would‘ve liked a bit more festiveness, but I enjoyed it.

This weekend, me, my daughters, and a friend of my oldest are taking a girls trip to see The Weeknd in concert! Me and my youngest have been making friendship bracelets to give out to other fans at the show. I made these today.
My cardinal from last week isn‘t quite finished yet…hopefully I can show it off next week!

I didn‘t enjoy this one as much as the first book, The Christmas Bookshop, but it was cute. IMO, it needed way more Christmas-y feels. A soft pick.

Enjoyed this one! And after that ending, I definitely need to read book 2 in the series!

Couldn‘t find this one in the database. But Glen Powell is the main narrator, which I think is enough said! 😂
It was a full cast production and a cute story!

Loved it! I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance (it‘s my favorite trope) and there was lots of Christmas festiveness. And from now on, when I see a candy cane, I will think of this book! 🤣🤪

Loved this one as much as the first book! Already put a hold on Libby for the third book. 😝

A Christmas story with spies? Yes, please! This was really cute with witty banter, festiveness, and MCs to root for!

Currently, I have 2 WIPs, and this one is closer to being done. I hope by next week‘s post it‘ll be finished! I love birds, especially cardinals, and it is our state bird (NC), so I had to cross stitch one. 😃

Really enjoyed this! I‘m a big fan of Ed‘s movies and this was very similar. It‘s fiction but based on his Irish American upbringing on Long Island in the 70s.

This was a pretty cute holiday romance…nothing groundbreaking but I liked the MCs and there was plenty of festiveness in this short listen!

As a kid in the late 70s and 80s, I envied Brooke‘s beauty, but I also was a fan. I still am! She‘s only 6 years older than me, so I was really interested to hear her take on aging and menopause, and of course, learning tidbits about her life. Brooke does acknowledge her privilege, but there‘s still some great advice/views/ideas that resonated with me. Though I don‘t have to age in the spotlight, I‘m glad I read this, and 👇🏻
I adore Backman‘s writing and this had me laughing out loud! Lucas, an introvert, is dragged into interacting with his neighbors and a very meddling apartment board (Head 3, aka Linda, was particularly funny) when a frying pan is not properly disposed of. Things quickly spiral out of control and it‘s up to Lucas to get things in the building back to normal.

This was like a trashy soap opera in book form and I was here for it! Just some fun escapism.

Didn‘t see this one in the database. Kept me guessing the whole time! A short listen with plenty of twists.

I really enjoyed this one so much! Great book about friendship, mother-daughter relationships, and second chances at love.

Santa has a puppy named Peppermint Bark…how freaking cute is that? Chris & Holly (8 and 11 y/o respectively) find a puppy wedged in their chimney and soon realize that he‘s Santa‘s puppy, thanks to the fact that PB can talk but is only understood by those who have Christmas spirit. Chris, Holly, and her friend Ivy, work together to get PB back home to the North Pole. An adorable kids‘ book!

I really enjoyed this! Annie puts together a mystery-themed book festival to help save the struggling bookstore she works at and loves, but the weekend‘s festivities take a turn when a body is found in the bookstore‘s secret room. To make things worse, the victim is an acquaintance of Annie‘s.

I‘ve enjoyed all the author‘s previous books and this was no exception. Plenty of twists and an MC I rooted for the whole time!

So cute! I thought there was enough holiday vibes here, plus there was depth and spice. And I do love the grumpy/sunshine trope, and in this case, the MMC was the sunshine!

A YA retelling of Sense and Sensibility - the youngest Dashwood, Margaret, is embarking on a 6-week cruise with her sensible sister Elinor. As they‘re boarding, the romantically-challenged Marianne shows up, hot off a breakup with suitcase in hand and announces she‘s coming along too. Now Margaret has to deal with Marianne‘s chaos, disrupting the nice quiet summer she was looking forward to.

I have officially finished the #LitsyAtoZ challenge! It was lots of fun!
Isla accepts an invitation to spend Christmas with her estranged sister Clara, but isn‘t too happy about it. When Isla and her husband arrive, Clara and her husband act strangely, and Isla is suspicious. The twist felt a little too contrived maybe, but this is novella length, so maybe that‘s not totally fair to say? 🤔
Not totally horrible but forgettable.

Got my July #bookspinbingo card ready! ☀️🎅🏻
For the last couple of years I‘ve done #christmasinjuly and read all holiday books. This year, I‘m doing a half and half mix of regular books and holiday books!
#bookspinbingo
Hazelwood has done it again! I just always enjoy her characters and the substance in her writing. The added bonus here was the appearances of Adam and Olive from The Love Hypothesis!
#bookspinbingo - got a 2nd bingo!
I couldn‘t believe that I already owned a book that fit July‘s #thematiccozies, but it‘s true! This book is set during a book festival. 📚
Well, this was just delightful! Glad I‘ve finally read it!

I got this for free from #botm since it was the book of the year for 2024…I wanted to see what all the hype was about. At first, I wasn‘t sure if I was going to like it (it‘s character driven which isn‘t my preference) but I ended up enjoying it. I was entertained!

#unpopularopinion time. Repetitive AF. I knew going in that this was spicy, which is fine, but there was sexy times in every chapter except for 2, maybe 3. And it just seemed like the MCs did literally nothing but bang it out, so I don‘t buy that they formed an emotional connection. When they did talk, it was mostly about each other‘s private parts. And if I never hear the words cock, beaver, or monster ever again, that would be fine with me!
I loved everything about this book! I enjoyed all 3 books in the series.

#pop25 - book written by an author who is neurodivergent
I pretty much loved everything about this book! A solid second chance at love romance. And now I want to visit Amsterdam even more than I already did!

#pop25 - book that fills a 2024 prompt I‘d like to do over {a book set in a travel destination on my bucket list}
This is only my 2nd book by this author (I loved Dark Matter!) and I‘m not a sci-fi expert, but I thought this one was also top-notch!

Ugh, I really need to start Googling a book before I read it to see if it‘s character driven. 🤦🏻♀️
Nothing much happens here as it‘s about a dysfunctional family who travels to England for a wedding, and the focus is solely on those relationships. But I do wonder if the Prime adaptation is better than the book? Every now and then that happens!
