After disliking the first Cursebreaker book I never continued on with the series. I SO GLAD I gave this book a chance. I absolutely loved it! A best spin on Robin Hood and Zorro tales with a fantastic storyline that I never wanted to put down. I loved the characters and I love how the author compared the politics of running a kingdom. I can't wait for the next book!

This was a fascinating look at women in Greek mythology. It gave me a new appreciation for the myths and has made me think twice when it comes to my interpretation. It was enjoyable to listen to as the author narrated it herself.

This series is fantastic. Hours pass while I'm immersed in this world losing all track of time. This author has an amazing ability to put her characters in the worst situations ever and write the most amazing, hateful villains. The portrayal of war and genocide almost takes it out of the YA genre, but so well done. #highlyrecommend #mustread

Bel Canto | Ann Patchett

I found The Dutch House boring, I hated State of Wonder, but I loved this one! A fascinating character study of a hostage situation. I loved the dynamic and relationships between the characters and while there wasnt much plot, i was never bored. I'm glad that I gave it a chance after my previous experiences with Patchett.

MrsMalaprop We were discussing her books at bookclub Monday night as I‘d chosen her latest These Precious Days. Bel Canto is definitely my favourite. Didn‘t like State of Wonder either. I‘m going to watch the Bel Canto movie this weekend as someone mentioned it at book club. 2w
CarolynM State of Wonder was a real disappointment to me. I liked Bel Canto but I loved Run. 2w
rwmg To my surprise I actually preferred State of Wonder to Bel Canto, which apart from the unfortunate epilogue I didn't think could be improved upon, and between them they made Patchett one of my favourite authors. I'm not a great one for essays but I I really liked These Precious Days. 2w

I've had a theme this month on reading Jane Goodall's works and learning more about where my food comes from. This book was the perfect combination of both to finish out the month. Relevant even when it was written decades earlier, she has made me look closer at how far my groceries traveled to get to me and if there is a better choice I could be making. It's amazing to consider what the world could be if more people thought like Jane.

This was a refreshing, enjoyable romance. I loved how strong and brave Hannah was. She knows what she wants and she goes for it, it is Fox who has to step up. Not your typical romance conflicts and a great use of the friends to lovers trope.

This was educational and eye opening that has lead me to look into where my animal products come from. This is an important read for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. He doesn't so much push vegetarianism as take an anti factory farm stance encouraging people to learn where their.meat comes from. This was written pre COVID and I would #highlyrecommend for the section on pandemics and WHO'S comcern for the next one. It is 100%accurate. #mustread

I can't recommend this book highly enough for anyone who has felt some anxiety or depression over the current state in the world. Jane's outlook on life is so encouraging and (I can't think of a better word) hopeful for the future. Every individual matters and every person can make a difference. I will be turning back to this book for years to come.

This was a fantastic idea, it started out super creepy. I think comparing it to Titanic and The.Shining in space is accurate. The ending fell a little flat and I think it would have been more effective if Claire was currently living the terror, not recounting it.

This was a lot of fun and I feel like the work that would go into creating this would have been exhausting. I love Marissa Meyer and all of her characters so this was a great little treat. I read it through with 4 different outcomes (some I liked more than others) but I know there's more because I haven't found the Renegade characters yet. This will be one I return to when I need a little break and some light hearted reading. #pantone2022

This book was a cozy English mystery with unique magic thrown in the mix. I really enjoyed this, it wasn't a fast paced novel but the author does an excellent job of making you care for the characters. The little bits of English magic gave it a touch of adult Harry Potter vibes which was great. I'm excited to read the next book and I will never tire from staring at this cover. #pop22 #popsugar

I can't wait for the next one and this book will remind me not to always rely on reviews. #pop22 #popsugar

I enjoyed this, just not quite as much as Mexican Gothic. I think I was hoping for more out of the setting, it wasn't as immersive as I envisioned from the blurb on the back and I didn't really buy the romance. This one took me a long time to get into because I didn't find Bryce overly likeable in the beginning but I'm so glad I pushed through. I was completely absorbed in this story halfway through and the last 200 pages had me frantically turning pages to see what would happen next. I shouldn't have been surprised, Maas books always take me a bit to get invested but she is definitely a master of her craft and did not disappoint.
