My #Aardvark picks for September.
My #augustwrapup looks pretty grim when compared to July, but compared to last August I am on 🔥!
This was a so-so listen. Maybe this wasn‘t the right time for me. I have read so many books about knitting since I took up the craft again in the early 2000s. It starts to feel like there‘s not really anything new. I will say this book got me wanting to knit again.
2nd time reading this. It will always be a 5 ⭐️ for me.
When @Robotswithpersonality posted their review of this manga I went searching in my kindle since I had a vague memory of purchasing this. Lo and behold there it was in my library. I enjoyed this one and the art. I now wish I had sprung for the physical copy so I could have given the art the admiration is deserves.
I‘ve been looking forward to this #authoramonth all year. This was a childhood fave. To read it as an adult and all the knowledge that comes with being an adult gave it an added slightly darker layer.
#bookhaul
I may have to drop everything for the tagged book.
Could someone teach me the secret to opening Barnes and Noble packages? It‘s a struggle every time.

A couples retreat explodes when current and past lies are exposed.
I will be dedicating my #hyggehourreadathon to finishing this library book. I only have two days left of summer vacation and I want to finish and return the library books I have. Luckily this his the last one and it‘s a quick read.

@GingerAntics made me do it 😂.

Apparently we have a favorites shelf on our homepage on #thestorygraph.

I loved Jupiter Jones as the mentor. He gave very Willy Wonka vibes with more heart. Morrigan was vulnerable and had self doubts yet still came off as a strong person. I‘ve already put the second book on hold.
Reading in the waiting room for my mammogram. TV is really loud. And yes, I made an almost identical post before last year‘s mammogram. I guess it‘s a tradition now.
I found this #weirdword in the tagged book. I love being able to join #weirdwordwednesday
puissant-adj. Having great power or influence.

“Because the Promised Land isn‘t the place where our problems are solved. It‘s the place where we find the courage to solve them. And that‘s all it ever has been.”
About the only difference in this week‘s #hyggehourreadathon is the book. Gigi the cat is napping beside me, I‘m in my jammies and I‘ll be reading until I can‘t keep my eyes open.

Our goal should be to help improve the lot of others in line with God‘s covenantal expectations that we are to be concerned with justice and human dignity.
I wish you all peace. #shabbatshalom

It wasn‘t a terrible book to pass the time with. I like the concept (ghost come back to help his detective partner solve his murder). The writing is bland. The characters a little meh. Probably could have used some editing for clarity. Still, I won‘t completely write off the series. Maybe I‘ll read the second book.

I thought this was a cute book. I‘m always a fan of the found family trope. I was a little taken aback by the secret that was being kept but it worked. It felt a little bit like a variation on The House in the Cerulean Sea.
Lunes=lectura according to my plan autodidacto de español pero ¿por qué elegí un cuento de Julio Cortázar? ??

This wasn‘t as good as I remember it being. I still liked it, but my memory of my last read was nicer than the rereading experience. It felt slow…but not a kind of good slow. I liked Margret and Agnes. Soft pick. I‘m looking forward to the discussion and insights from others.
#LiteraryCrew @Librarybelle
I‘m starting about an hour early and I‘ll probably read well past 9, but I‘ve got everything ready for #hyggehourreadathon:
1. The tagged book which I‘m reading for #literarycrew
2. My kindle and nook for #readyourebooks
3. A bottle of water (not pictured)
4. Gigi the cat.

There were two mysteries that ended up being connected, but not in too convoluted a way. Right when I thought it was going to be a Ned-less mystery he showed up like an afterthought 😂

Can‘t wait for the discussion.
There‘s a lot going on in this synopsis and to be honest that makes me nervous. 😂

My Jewish practice is really not the best, but lately I‘ve been trying to reserve Friday nights for Jewish reading. This is my current Friday night read. #shabbatshalom
I give up. While I have so far had a lot of success with #authoramonth this one is just not for me. It‘s time to #hailthebail.
Library hold came in! I read this years ago (pre-Litsy I think). I can‘t wait to read it with @Librarybelle and the #LiteraryCrew.
I chose the tagged book for July #authoramonth, but I wasn‘t having any luck with just an eyeball read or just listening. So now I am following along in the book while I listen and it seems to be helping.
I‘ve wanted to read Salman Rushdie for a while and I‘ve been told that the tagged book is a good place to start with this author. It‘s not the only one from him on my shelf though.
#sundayfunday @BookmarkTavern
I‘ll tell you honestly, Mr. Loehmann…this doesn‘t feel to me like the country we say we are.
I am late for #hyggehourReadathon. I‘m reading my #bookspin book and listening to folks in the neighborhood still setting off firecrackers. 🙄

Cute series. I disliked the audiobook so I eyeball read the last two books. Spice was a little bit for me, but that just meant skipping pages which made it a quicker read.
#July4thPlaylist @dabbe
A link to this series was in one of the stories I was reading today. More songs for the playlist!

Yo soy mexicano americano- covered by many artists

American Pie- Don McLean
Maple Leaf Rag- Scott Joplin
It‘s a Wonderful World- Louis Armstrong

Strange Fruit- Billie Holiday (gotta acknowledge and atone)
The Pill- Loretta Lynn
I bet I‘ll think of more.

It‘s an unsettling 4th this year, but I hope all my fellow US Littens can find sparks of hope.
Here are my four books for #readyournook. I‘m going to try my best to read all four, starting with the tagged book.
@CBee
The Books With Betsy podcast is new to me. Melissa Joulwan is the guest this week and I love listening to her. I can never have too many bookish podcasts!
I never have a word for #weirdwords but thanks to the tagged book I now do! Though it‘s probably not weird for a musician.
Here are my #bookspin choices for July. Hopefully I‘ll finish both. I only finished one in June.
@TheAromaofBooks
Last year I read 64 books total. So far this year I‘ve read 62 books. I had to tip in a page for my reading journal to have room for more!
