It's amazing how our kids can put us back in touch with our childhood passions. I have always loved learning about animals and I was especially enthralled with wolves as a kid. I credit our son for allowing me to rediscover the joy of animals through his love for all living things. As he gets older, I hope he never loses touch with what truly brings him joy. I cannot wait to dive into this book!
pickGoing in, I wondered how well this book would read coming from a scientist whose characters names are all numbers. Turns out it reads quite well, fantastic even. I started to worry towards the end that we wouldn't get closure of the main protagonist's story, but the ending is remarkable. 40 years of studying wolves, I think the author help put to rest a lot arguments regarding canines and personalities.
Since I was a child I've had a keen interest in wolves (so much so that my parents still get me a wolf calendar every year). This book is on my TBR and it looks like there could be a lot to learn about the wolves of Yellowstone within the pages.

pickThis is one of the best books I've read all year. I've always loved wolves and learned so much about them. The author has studied wolves for 40 years and is able to pass on his knowledge in a manner that is interesting and easy to understand.
