Up until now I've read the books in this series as ebooks and only now discovered the audio version. And I will stay true to these. So well read! Loved listening to the adventures and once again Kianthe and Reyna show us how to communicate in a relationship and work on it. I lost track a bit about the minor characters, but that's ok. It didn't take anything away from me enjoying this book and now I'm looking forward to the next part.
Soft pick. The German translation took years to be published and a resume would've helped. Or a character sheet. The switches between the narrators were too fast and the book itself is overloaded with things happening. But it's a good ending after all and I am glad that I was able to finally finish this trilogy.
Happy #5JoysFriday 💛 Life continues to be meh, so still clinging on the small joys.
1. Colouring with Secco
2. Adventuring with Rossa
3. I've been gaming again
4. @VaniBarelyReads made me delicious dinner
5. Spent an afternoon with my dad and his dog
@DebinHawaii
This was the last short story from The Library Universe I was missing. I liked the creatures we were meeting, they're quite creative. The stories are not necessary to continue reading the books, but I like my collections complete 😅
Vol 4 out of 6, but so far there are no publishing dates for the last German volumes. I have a bad feeling about this...
This series is the one that tells me I'm not quite out of the manga genre. It speaks mostly through the artwork and shows us a dystopian world, that isn't quite that dystopian.
In this volume the girls learn about what humans are capable of doing. Like building weapons and destroying whole cities.
It's something special to have a book dedicated to you. But it feels nice. It also feels nice to see a book come to life you helped creating and which is based on you and your life. And in which you become the victim of a murder 😱
So, I may be biased when I say that I really, really enjoyed reading this crime novel set in the Bavarian alps. But it is! And it's a lot of fun too, especially because of Paula, the MCs daughter.
Anna Rosenwasser is a queerfeminist icon in Switzerland. She changed the lives of so many queer people here. I'm only one of them.
In "Heart" Anna writes about being angry, about feeling overwhelmed, about feeling feelings. About how people voted for her and how we still can go on in times like these.
It's a very personal and intimate book. A book that inspires and empowers.
So, what do we have here? A classical feminist book, a book about racismn and a modern feminist book. Sounds good to me.

I almost forgot it's #5JoysFriday 💛 This week has been... a week. So I'm holding on to tiny joys like
💛 Reading in the sunshine with Secco
💛 Reading in the sunshine during lunch break
💛 Had fun during Ju-jitsu class
💛 @VaniBarelyReads gave me a fun new training game
💛 It's a long weekend and I finally get some rest
@DebinHawaii
My next roll for #bookishmonopoly sent me to "World Tour", my plan to read books from many different countries. This time it's Andorra and my chosen book will be Death Has A Thousand Doors.
@AkashaVampie
This audiobook was more background noise for me, while I was doing this and that. The story got more interesting after the 50% mark, so the plot maybe just needed some time to speed up. I for myself would've loved to spend more time with the female characters, because to me they seemed more interesting than Eisenhorn. I'm still curious about what's going to happen to him next.

Translation: The Future is Non-Binary (while it's also possible to read it as The Future is Not Binary)
I advise to only read this book if you feel stable. Lydia Meyer directly quotes many transphobic resources, which is sometimes hard to read. I had to pause the book several times, because I couldn't deal with what some people say/think.
The book itself couldn't provide any new information for me, but I loved how encouraging the ending was.
Bookish Song Nr. ... Seriously, I've lost track...
Bring Me The Horizon - Wonderwall (cover)
The cover version really threw me back into the book. There is some kind of Wonderwall in the story, the atmosphere just fits for me and the text gets deep into the character's relationships.
I'm one of those grown-ups nobody ever thought they would get diagnosed with ADHD. Because we still need to learn so much about it. This book was my first and was a real find. It's short and focuses on the most important things, perfectly written for ADHD people.
More than once I had to stop reading and take a deep breath to stop me from crying. Roediger's even experiences matched mine so much, it hurt.
Happy late #5JoysFriday 💛💛💛
My joys this week:
1) lovely walk with @VaniBarelyReads ☀️
2) surprise gift package from a dear friend 💖
3) travelling with my dad☀️
4) celebrating Secco's 3rd birthday 😸
5) text on the entrance to our library: reading makes you smart 📚
@DebinHawaii
How can this person write so different books? So different and so good ones? He must spend so much time plotting all this to make it work and it does! The story could've used a bit more speed throughout the book. The end was breathtaking for me and my mind was all over the place. I let Emory do all the work, because there's no way I could've figured anything out here. Now I wonder what will Turton come up with next.
These poems really unsettled me. The stories Vuong tells here hit me deep and more than once I could relate to the texts. What an impressive writer he is. His voice vibrates and resonates with my soul. Deeply.
#queerbc @PuddleJumper
Yep. Definitely enough 🙃
There's hardly anything to read about the Japanese Ju-Jutsu. Most books are about the Brazilian version or Krav Maga. So I went to read this classic. It was quite fun to read how the English people (males, mostly) overestimated themselves and were furious about loosing to this tiny Japanese man. The pictures are interesting, but most tasks shown are for more advanced pupils than I am.
My third and last book for #transrightsreadathon and an unexpected find in our library. They still had the older version of the book, but I like that they changed the title.
A wonderful and heartfelt story that tells children how it feels to be trans. Actually, this is the way all trans children should find out about themselves and how they should grow up to be who they really are 🏳️⚧️🫶
Not as strong as the other volumes (too many descriptions of war plans), but I was glad to learn how the characters came to the end of their journey. I still love the mix of European history and fantasy. Amazing world building.
#doublespin (March) @TheAromaofBooks
But we also know that there's always hope 🫶
I've never really payed much attention to Mace, so I'm glad to spend some time with him and getting to know him better. The setting is just as fascinating as the main character himself. And so are the other characters we meet here. This book is a great addition to the extended universe and I have a whole new impression of Mace Windu.
#StarWarsBuddyRead @BookwormAHN
I'm a day late for #5JoysFriday, but it's not the first time and it won't be the last 😅
1. One of my oldest friends had her for reading. It was a short story, but I'm sure there's more to come.
2. Spending time with @VaniBarelyReads 💖
3. Receiving the new book by Anna Rosenwasser 💖
4. While also receiving this pin I totally forgot I ordered 🙈
5. Friday afternoon with fellow queers in the Rainbow House 🏳️🌈
@DebinHawaii
Soft pick. I liked the grey area characters and all the questions Meyer asks. What would you do in these situations? There were some scenes, that really made me think. Still, I do prefer Meyer's fairy tale retellings. Those drew me in a lot more.
Blåbli and I are on tour again! Today we will be at the Rainbow House in Zurich for an event due to the Day of Ace Visibility 🏳️🌈
We're starting this book now. Because what else are train rides for?
What an eye opener! These essays are sometimes hard to read, but I've learnt so much. It's so important to change one's perspective every now and then and starting to see the world through the eyes of someone else. Mika writes about their experience as a queer person with several disabilities and PTSD.
#transrightsreadathon
My favourite part of the trilogy! Enemies to Lovers is just so up my alley. Marske is still continuing the main plot, so every now and then the romance part is reduced, but I think it's good, that the main plot comes to a good end. The series wasn't a highlight, but I enjoyed reading the books
How could I resist this new edition of Wolf's Rain? The Perfect Edition collects both manga volumes and has some tiny extras. It's also a new translation.
I watched the anime and read the mangas when I was a teen and loved it dearly. As a grown I can say that two volumes are not enough for this story to be fully told. I wish there was more. Still, I loved being reunited with those wolves again and also saw some aspects that are still current.
I already got the first book from NetGalley and couldn't wait until this book was published. And it was just what I needed. So very, very much. Love the Bear-Twink trope. I ended up listening the audio book in one day. And now I can't wait for volume three, of course. But apparently it'll be out in May. Yay!
I am only slightly panicking about The Hunters Of Dune being my #BookSpin 😅 At least I've already started with my #DoubleSpin this morning (call it intuition!). Well, let's see where April will take us 📚
#BookSpinBingo @TheAromaOfBooks
Even with one evening of reading less (Ju-jitsu class on Tuesdays) I still somehow managed 19 books - phew! Starting May I might take classes twice a week, let's see how that'll go and what it'll do that my reading (rational thought: you might have to quit some buddy reads. Irrational answer: no)
#bookofthemonth #boftm
This was the first book I finished for the #Transrightsreadathon 2025 and might as well be my Book of the Month March. The title can be translated as The Missing Words of our Hearts. And the title fits the book perfectly. So much heart, so much soul went into this story and it shows on every page. Seen and unseen struggles, communication, transphobia, racism. It's all there, but it still is a beautifully told love story.
Here's my #BookSpinBingo Board for March. Two Bingos, which I'm quite happy about. Also finished both my #BookSpin and my #DoubleSpin. But yes, I'm WAY behind with my reviews. I hope I'll get some time to catch up soon.
@TheAromaOfBooks
Happy #5JoysFriday 💛💛💛
My joys this week were:
1. The event our library held for the Week Against Racism
2. Tasty vegan lunch
3. Spending a day at home
4 & 5. The tiny things that made me smile
@DebinHawaii
It's the end of March already! Well then, here's my #BookSpinBingo list for April 🐰 🐤
@TheAromaofBooks - congratulations to your new home! 🏠 🎉
These are my #Roll100 books for April. I've actually already read A Scatter of Light by Malinda Lo, which was number 36 on my list 😅
Looking forward to both other books. 24 is called The Future is Non-Binary and the other one is a YA about growing up in two different worlds.
@PuddleJumper
Not the tagged but, but close enough because it's the second volume to that one.
I think this book was even more fun and more entertaining than the first one. Minna was an awesome character and I would've loved to see more from her. Once again, the story made me laugh out loud, took me away from reality and gave me a place to stay, when I was sick of adult life.
The third and last book in the Coughli trilogy. Just as Joe, we start to wonder who is up to kill him and why. Can he (we?) trust the people around him (us)? I maybe should've skimmed through the previous novels to get allt he details, but the book is readable without deeper kowledge of the previous books. Loved Joe's son and wonder what happened to him after this book ends. Dark, bloody, and lots of trigger warnings. Mafia stuff, you know.
Post 2/2
Saturday 3/15/25 - General meeting of the Queer Fraction of the Social Democratic Party of Switzerland
🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈
Because queer joy is resistance ✊
First person I run into: Superhuman. You these people you just click with? They is one of those. I felt like 17 again.
Many great people, good talks about the state of the world, informative presentation and vegan food. I so, so needed that. 🏳️🌈
A highlight in my 2025 so far
Happy belated #5JoysFriday 💛
This time I'm doing two posts, because last Saturday was too big to just be a number here. So this is post 1/2 with my normal joys 💛
1. Going to the cinema with @VaniBarelyReads and having a tasty dinner afterwards
2. This chalk drawing
3. Going to Zurich with @VaniBarelyReads and having Starbucks drinks. Again.
4. Remodelling the bookstore. Again.
5. Vegan carnival cookies from my aunt 💛
@DebinHawaii
Best time of the year to read this - Yes! Of course, I was head over heels for this. It's all I needed and more. Maybe loved it even more than the first part? Perfect in so many ways, I barely know where to begin. Listened to the audiobook and it was the perfect choice as well 🍀🍀🍀 Happy St. Patrick's Day 🌈
One of the earlier works of Han Kang, and I'm not sure if there's already an English translation. The German title can be translated as: Your Cold Hands
This story is filled with symbolism, at least to me it felt like that. And I'm glad I didn't read this book earlier in my life, because it deals with eating disorders and assaults. So trigger warnings for this. Kang shows us how superficial society can be and how that destroys us in many ways.
Happy #5JoysFriday 💛💛💛
My joys have been simple.
1) spending time in the sunshine
2) family walk in the woods, discovering flowers
3) while enjoying the Merlin app
4) book mail is best mail
5) redecorating the children's book nook
@DebinHawaii
Not the tagged book, but the third and last part of the trilogy.
It's fun, it's cute, it's romantic. I enjoyed all three parts of the series and was happy to be back with the characters. It's one of these books you will have a Happy Ending, so it surely was something I needed right now. Something fluffy to forget my own troubles for the lenght of an audiobook.
Yay for my latest #bookhaul
I was informed that I'ma a Queerfeminist Cyborg and That's Okay might be out of print, so I didn't expect to get a copy. But I did! It's one my March #roll100, but I'm not sure if I can fit it in this month.
And then I received an early Christmas gift from @VaniBarelyReads ❤ Isn't she a beauty? The book and Vani herself 💕
Love it, love it, love it. Maybe my favourite part so far? Those two are just so... Well, I loved how they danced around each other, screwed things up, but still worked it out in the end. And I really want a book with Piper, please? The news, that there's a fourth book in the series just made me utterly happy. Count me in!
