I‘m SUPER frustrated by This is Halloween. It started out super promising. The author is a talented writer and all that jazz, but the deeper I got in the collection the more I disliked it. There was some unnecessary sexualization that I couldn‘t get behind. Sexual assault does not a Halloween story make. And one story was from the point of view of a child predator. That is not a Halloween story. That is a crime.

Here‘s a look at my expected watches for Spooky Month — a lot of perennial faves (Hocus Pocus, Nightmare Before Christmas, Little Shop, The Craft), a few I‘ve seen once and would like to rewatch (Get Out, Babadook) and a lot of “new to me” titles. Y‘all I have had a crap week. Had a car accident last Friday, spent four days in hospital, 2 of which in ICU ( oxygen dropped after abdominal surgery), now I‘m home with a fractured ankle and surgical scars from having part of my small intestines removed. It‘s almost October and it‘s basically spooky season!! All those participating in the basic witch swap how is the shopping going ?? I have basically finished filling my matches box with all the witchy goodies ! 🖤💜

Since camp is near Lake Erie, it closes in early October. 😞 SO they had early Halloween last night. It was amazing. I‘m so glad the kids got to participate in a Halloween since our township already cancelled it. Everyone was so respectful and followed state precautions. Proof it can be done imo!!

@wanderinglynn asked her #HauntedHollowSwap participants about our favorite costumes. I answered that I love classic costumes (& I do)...but I also find it hard to resist the allure of a good/terrible pun.

Here‘s my husband & I as “The Route of All Evil (or “Highway to Hell”)” & “The Bare/Bear Minimum.” He‘s not a costume guy...so this was very much in keeping with his vibe. 😅
