@Patchshank So sorry this is so extremely late. I have 3 books headed your way! 2023 has been super rough, and I‘m just not in the game of mailing books on time. I‘m so sorry. Please pass the books on to the rest of the group. 💕📚#litsylove

@Nutmegnc your box is on the way to you. It should be delivered on the 15th. Sorry, I forgot to get a picture before the mail guy took it from me! It is in a brown box. #LLFS #litsylovefallswap @Bookgoil @Deblovestoread
Received your book Gabby! Megan, I‘m hoping to mail Friday. Sorry, I‘m a little late!
Wow. This one pulled me in and I loved the narration! The Indian culture in 1950s is so interesting, and I loved learning about the symbolism behind the henna designs. So weird how timely some of the topics are. I can‘t believe we have gone back that far in modern society. However, learning about it in this setting was eye-opening. I loved most of the characters and will definitely continue on with the next book or two in the series. #India
My current read. Thanks to Misty and Leigh and the #litsylove crew! Just what I need to help me get over the last part of COVID. I‘m feeling better, but still testing positive. Thanks for the nice surprise in the mail. 💕💕 #thoughtfulfriends #bookmail #booksurprise @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
A super fun read with dual perspectives. Ruby is the state attorney‘s daughter and secretly disposes of bad men while saving women and children. Guy is an orphaned, on the run shape shifter just trying to stay alive and not hurt anybody. When they meet, other secrets come to light and they have to decide if they are trusting friends.
An engaging mystery and very likable characters.
Ending? Where are you?
I enjoyed this mystery within a mystery and a book in a book in a book. It threw off the flow for a few chapters but then I got pulled in and didn‘t mind. One certain fan annoyed me, but the others were likable. I did guess the correct murderer about 1/2 thru but not the how or why. Even though I enjoyed Hannah‘s parallel storyline it wasn‘t necessary to keep the other story going. I did want more of an ending or epilogue.
A fun book told from Ava‘s perspective of how she got into the counterfeit ring and met Winnie. Even though they were doing bad things, I was still rooting for them. I enjoyed it as something different.
Wow. This one pulled me in and I couldn‘t put it down. It just got more twisty the further I got. Totally unexpected for me. Enjoyed it with fairly likeable characters overall.
I love Ellie so much! Book 2 is another adventure of Ellie, the Major and her group of talented friends trying to stop the Germans during wartime. Another mystery with a good twist! #elliemcdonnell #electramcdonnell This book just came out this year, so we probably have a long wait until the next one. Sigh. 💕
Intertwined stories between a modern writer looking for a new idea for her next book and the life story of her favorite author. When Katie goes to a bookstore while on vacation for research she gets pulled into a mystery around her favorite author. It also involves the help of a handsome stranger.
I bailed on this one. I didn‘t find the characters likable. Ehh🤷♀️
A fun mystery featuring Ellie who leads a criminal lifestyle with her uncle by lock picking in order to make ends meet for her family. When she gets caught, she has to help the government solve a case in order to avoid prison. Soon she is involved deeper than she thought she would be and caught up in war efforts to help England win the war.
Likable characters and a fun plot with one of my favorite narrators. Book 1.
Enjoying this book all about beekeeping. I‘m learning a lot about all of the bees in my own backyard! 🐝🐝 It is mind boggling how smart these little creatures are. #beeareader #readingbee #audiobook #
An interesting read about a book club of ex-convicts who are all trying to live normal lives in society and what happens when one of their group gets murdered. There were a few places where the narration switched from first person to third person 👎, but overall a fun mystery.
An interesting plot where “plot” has two important meanings in in this tale about a writing instructor and his student and a possible stolen story idea. While I guessed one of the main twists, part of the ending was still surprising and while I didn‘t like the characters much, I was caught up enough in the story to continue reading. The mystery with the twists was engaging and unique. Worth a listen or a read.
A fun set of characters set during WW2, this cozy mystery is a fun read. However, while I didn‘t guess all the details of the twists, I did guess most of the twists and was two steps ahead of Irene the whole way. The ending left a few things hanging and seemed a bit rushed, but overall it was a fun story and I liked the characters. #dreamscapemedia #alc #librofm
I‘m so glad this one wasn‘t ruined and was just as good as the first. The characters were still likable and some secondary ones had more book time and development. I really enjoyed it and am glad that I stuck with the first one despite the gory details at first. I also love the audio with the Chinese and Russian expressions. Can‘t wait for discussion. And books 3 & 4! #sundaybuddyread #ourviolentdelightsbuddyread 🤐🤫📚
While not quite as fun as the first two, this third book takes place on a ship at sea with a moonlight carnival. AR and Thomas must sort out the illusions from the truth when dead bodies start appearing. Their feelings for each other are put to the test when the charming ringmaster claims to have stolen AR‘s heart. I love the narrator and did enjoy this book overall.

Codebreakers have infiltrated the public imagination of wartime efforts - but what about code-makers?
On to book 3 of Cresswell and Audrey Rose for my audiobook. I need something that I can escape into while I knit. 📚🧶💕 I also adore this narrator!
Wow! Cliff hanger! I enjoyed it overall, although the MC drives me a little batty. Don‘t have a favorite character yet & there are a few plot points that don‘t make sense to me & are really bothering me. Other than that, it is overall a fun, quick read with a magical element, fluffy romance and a bit of mystery to it. It was a fluffy read when nothing else was holding my interest & I needed something to zoom thru. 🤷♀️ a palate-cleanser
Listening to this one, & I‘m almost done. I must like it on some level because I‘m still listening and can‘t put it down, but on another level, Defiance is kinda annoying and so stubborn that she isn‘t learning much. It‘s getting a little bit old… The regular storyline of divorce, broke, and in her 40s, she inherits a house & finds out she is a witch & has to learn to use her powers & protect herself from the evils that want her power. 🤷♀️
Written in sets of letters back in forth, Juliet tells the stories of a group of people living on Guernsey and their experience during the War. She strikes up friendships with all of them and learns why their society has the name that it does. A throughly charming story as they learn to trust each other and share more of their stories. Likable characters and a quick read. Audio with multiple narrators.
#newyearwhodis @Librarybelle @monalyisha
This second book was just as enjoyable as the first. It definitely referred back to characters and events and built on the first book so reading in order is almost a must. A quick fun, mystery with a light romance included. Likable characters who are in the wrong place at the wrong time. Looking forward to a probable third book. #audio
I just started this one and am enjoying being back in Finlay‘s world. It definitely refers back to events in the first book right away though. If you haven‘t read the first book, I highly recommend it!
I very much enjoyed this book about the first Black Women‘s Army Corps. They were very brave women to have faced all of the racism, sexism and the war as army members. I liked the characters and couldn‘t put the book down. Hence, the review for February‘s #overbookedclub read on the 4th of Feb! 😮😊 I learned a lot and have some local exploring to do. Ft Des Moines is close to my house, and I can hear the guns go off during their trainings.

Missed the January book for #overbookclub so started early on February‘s read. It‘s really good! And it talks about Des Moines as one of the first places for WAC officers. It is really weird to hear Iowa mentioned as I‘m not used to my hometown area being a prominent place in a book. And since this is historical fiction, now I‘m going to have to go on a hunt for more info and sight seeing. 🤔🙂
A lot of fun with spookiness, twists and turns. This one had likable characters and an interesting premise. I didn‘t guess it till the end. #sundaybuddyread St James is becoming a favorite author of mine. I like to do audiobooks and I like the narrator that does her stories. This is a fun read!
Nope. I‘m following along on the chapter summaries because they are better than the book @Crinoline_Laphroaig ! Just can‘t make it through. Couldn‘t get through Jane Eyre either. I have a horrible time with classics. 🤔 I‘m even listening to it! 🤷♀️ sorry! #pemberlittens #buddyread #wutheringalong
Characters were not very likable. I was hoping for A Man Called Ove type book and didn‘t get there. 🤷♀️ oh well. Didn‘t finish in time for my book discussion so bailed on this one.
Thanks @peanutnine for my lovely package! I‘m excited to read this one and eat the yummy chocolates! 😁
Happy holidays to you!
Thanks @MaleficentBookDragon for hosting a fun swap!!

An interesting book where 3 people are connected by an accident and get to know and care for each other thru the sharing of their pasts and a connected present. They cover up a crime in order to make things right and help someone they like. #immigrants #trafficking #family #overbookedclub
Feeling grateful for all of my #litsy friends, my family, health, job, home, and life. Even though there are things I complain about and am angry about, I am grateful I am safe and am able to help make life better for others through my education and privilege. 💕 #grateful #givethanks
This second book is just as delightfully spooky and page-turning as the first. Audrey Rose and Thomas are at school competing for their places as forensic students. Of course bodies start to show up, drained of blood, and the locals are terrified of the legends of Prince Dracula. AR and Thomas caught The Ripper, can they stop Dracula? #YA
This was a fun re-read and I listened on audio this time. Same narrator as Jackaby series. Now I remember it and can move on to the next book in the series. Really a great spooky book with a strong female lead who loves science and uses it to stop Jack the Ripper and save innocent women from being murdered.
Can‘t wait to read some of these titles from @Librarybelle for #NewYearWhoDis in January 2022. I‘ve been eyeballing some of these authors and have some of these on my TBR mountain for sure. I‘ve read 8 and 14 with #sundaybuddyread and I started 9 for #lmpbc, but didn‘t get to finish it and it got lost on its way back to me. Looking forward to trying it again along with many others!
😩 I couldn‘t do it. I got 75 pages in and bailed at 136. I tried. I really tried for my book group and feel terrible for choosing this one. It has strong language right away, along with steamy sex scenes. I wanted a cute gay romance. That is not what this was. I also found it to be not all that well written. Apparently I am not old enough for this type of book! 🤷♀️ I liked the idea, but not the execution. Pan for me. I‘ll stick to Cerulean Sea.

A fun cozy mystery where enchanted beings are trapped at a Ren Faire. When problems arise in the Mermaid Kingdom, Cori the fairy jumps in to help solve the mystery. Plus, she has a crush on the MerPrince which increases her need to help the mermaids. A fun read with likable characters. I actually guessed the twist on this one fairly early, but still enjoyed it. #cozymystery #paranormalmystery #renfaire
