willaful SO MADDENING! How did we not know this?! I wanna see Molly happy! I wanna see Dr. Gibson slough off NotClare somehow! I guess we can watch a filmed version to get some kind of closure.. 20h

Bookwormjillk So I'm guessing she died before she finished? Too bad. Still liked this book but kind of melancholy over the ending. The characters were great in this one. 20h

eeclayton I had the afterword, too. But even without it, Mrs Gaskell set up the HEA nicely, and she was no Charlotte Brontë to kill off Roger somewhere in Africa 😂 19h

All this ongoing story ( especially #notclare with her long winded double speak) ending with “dear reader, Roger married Molly. The end” 18h

Clare-Dragonfly Doesn‘t seem like Molly was around long enough to help bring the Squire and Aimee together but maybe this illness of the baby will! I love baby Roger. He‘s such a good baby. 2d

It's a bit of a Cinderella story except with no way for anyone else to see it if they don't want to. 4w

Bookwormjillk I loved this one as a teen. I used to sit with my friend Amy trying to set things on fire with our minds for hours. It was the super power I most wanted to have when I was about 13. I still liked it on this re-read, but I thought the middle dragged a bit. Not a bad ending for King.

Also I think the first season of Stranger Things owes this book a lot! 1mo

TieDyeDude @5feet.of.fury I found I liked this more than Carrie. I don't remember The Institute enough to compare. But, yes, it was just really neat. As much as I love when he takes the time to build a town and it's inhabitants, with this and The Shining, I'm liking his more narrowly focused stories. 4w
