Diving into #AuthorAMonth November. I did not care for this book the first time I read it but I‘m hoping the audio changes my mind.

@Soubhiville

Soubhiville I actually agree with you: I loved the parts about the library and reading, but didn‘t care much for the storyline. 2w
Nute I hope that the audiobook gives this story a second chance with you. I love this book!🙂 2w

This is a beautifully written, emotional story but I spent the whole book wondering why one of the characters was necessary. In the end, it all came together.

Unpopular opinion here… SK is one of my favorite authors (like, I‘m going to marry Roland Deschain favorite authors) but I disliked this one so much I‘ve convinced myself someone else wrote it.

Did anyone else feel this way or am I just having a mood?

KathyWheeler I really liked it, but it did take a bit for me to get into it. I read it instead of listening to it. (edited) 4mo
Bookgirl Reading right now and just posted about how much the old fashioned dialogue is irritating me. That said, I‘m now almost done and it got better. Also love The Dark Tower! 3mo
DHill @Bookgirl yes! It did get better towards the end and I think it was the dialogue that really bothered me too. 3mo

Incessant barking. Look through window. This. So much for a relaxing morning read before the day gets going. 😂

Elizabeth2 Mine are the same way if I try to read outside. I have to pretend that I am leaving, say goodbye to my family, and walk out through the garage. When they hear the garage door go up, they know Mommy has left the building. 😂 Then I sneak around to the porch quietly so they can‘t hear me. The things we do…..🤣 5mo
