I thought the character of Eleanor felt a bit uneven, but liked the book enough to want to know what happens next, with her, with Raymond. I‘d definitely read a sequel.

I cannot recommend The Murderbot Diaries enough. So. Much. Fun. And the narration by Kevin R. Free is perfection.

Though I‘m not a fan of Joan Didion‘s writing style, this is a moving reflection on loss and the impact of her daughter‘s death.

Martha Wells‘s Murderbot Diaries series is one of the most fun and entertaining I‘ve read.

Kevin R. Free‘s narration is So. Good.

Overall, I really liked this book, but in the moment of each chapter there were times that it didn‘t flow well, that text or characters didn‘t seem to support the plot, or that characters slipped in and out of character without enough context.

There is something about the tone of Maggie O‘Farrell‘s writing, though, that always appeals to me.

Kurt Vonnegut is one of my favorite authors but the voice of the narrator distracted from the voice of the author too much for me in this one.

This book resonated with me in a way I wasn‘t prepared for. What a journey.

My current audiobook. I was first introduced to this in 4th grade when my teacher read it to my class. Even then it felt epic.

I knew this would be my favorite book of the year before the first chapter ended. Audio was excellent. Ending a little messy. Ready for the sequel.

Found this great indie bookstore on my way out of town after a Fever game. Cozy, great selection of books and bookish gear and friendly staff. It‘ll definitely be a regular stop when in Indy.

I first read this as a kid in the late 70‘s and remember only and exactly one line: I must, I must, I must increase my bust. 😂

The book is still charming and its themes still relevant.

Watched the tv series adaptation first, and loved it. Read the book next, and loved it.

Well this has never happened to me before. I borrowed this on December 22. Better take it while I have a chance.

As an avid birdwatcher, and having just planted serviceberry and other shrubs to attract more birds, when I saw this at the bookstore, of course. Of course I bought it. 🐦🌳

Mid-May audiobook snapshot. Haven‘t read Michael Connelly in years - guess I‘m playing catch-up!

After a long absence, this was the perfect re-entry into the world of Harry Bosch. And found myself a new character to love, too, in Renee Ballard.

I haven‘t read Michael Connelly in years so I‘m looking forward to starting this one and meeting a new character in Bosch world.

Next up. I can‘t believe I haven‘t read this yet.

My first Kate Quinn and it was alright. The history is compelling but I was underwhelmed by the writing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ohhhhh, this was so close to soooo good. I hated the ending!

I did still love it but going all the way with held breath and then it ended with a puff of air instead of a satisfying sigh.

I was a solid meh until that ending. Now I‘m going to have to watch the movie, too.

This story is so intriguing and I‘m curious to see where it goes.

I‘m trying not to get hung up on how many characters there are in just the first chapter. I loved Wrong Place Wrong Time and am hoping this one has as many 🤯 moments.

2nd #AuthorAMonth read for March. A little darker than book one but still as much fun.

Two hours of audio to go and it‘s already a two gasp book!

Book 2 is on hold through Libby but I like this series so much I jumped to #3.

The Murderbot series is relatable, not overly technical and a lot of fun.

Getting back into crochet is more Year of Dishcloths than Crochet Magic at this point, but Crochet Taxidermy is the life goal I didn‘t see coming. 😂😂

The Netflix intro does not give nearly enough away. 🤣 I‘m going to have to watch the series after reading this to see how they got from the book to the screen.

For me, the blurb was far more compelling than the story itself. The audio was ok (read by the author) but I feel like I would have gotten a better sense of time and expression if I‘d read this in print.

One of my favorites by Erik Larson. As always well-researched and well-written and Will Patton‘s narration evokes a mental movie-reel. Crazy historical parallels and ahhhh Easter Egg references.
