So far I‘m really enjoying the tagged book! The narration and main character are so witty that it‘s made me laugh out loud a few times. A book I didn‘t know I needed. I‘m also trying to read “never let me go” again. I‘ve been struggling to get through this one but I am determined! 📚

So I am trying to improve my French (I‘ve moved into an area where it is the primary language) and I am trying to read more in French and understand and enjoy the stories. I am finding that difficult because I don‘t want to only read children‘s books. Haha if any one has any suggestions I‘d love to know 😊

Ruthiella I suggest trying a. Magazines and other short format writing in a subject you are interested in and b. an adult book in French that you‘ve already read in your native language. Try to pick something fairly straightforward. Also, watching TV or films in French is very helpful because you have the added context. 3w
Mirazzles @Ruthiella I‘ll look into some magazines! I am also looking into maybe finding a book I like that I‘ve read already in English and see how it goes! (edited) 3w

I have mixed feelings about this one… on one hand, it was well written and I was intrigued by the characters. While on the other, I was often left wanting and wondering.

Wow. I really enjoyed this one! I usually don‘t love thrillers because I can usually figure out what is happening within the first 100 pages, but it wasn‘t like that with this one. I really like the timeline, the characters, and the writing! I felt the ending was a little rushed, but alas!

1) Generally, yes. I think it depends more on the storyline and the writing. 😊 2) I think a moody book is one where the characters and the writing are both filled with angst and it can be very atmospheric, but it depends. 🧐 Thank you for the tag @Ddzmini it was fun to play! #two4tuesday @TheSpineView

“It‘s not that I‘m fleeing anything, just exploring my most intimate and uncharted territories in a quest for fresh feelings in a new prefabricated summer cottage planted on the edge of a muddy ravine with my hearing and sight-impaired four-year-old travelling companion” It seems that the protagonist‘s life is looking up after she is dumped twice in one day and hits a goose with her car 🇮🇸

I usually don‘t enjoy audio books but the author read this one and it was incredible. If you like memoirs, I highly recommend it. As someone who lost a parent in my early twenties, I could relate to some of her experiences and quite appreciated her voice. There were so many times where I did have to pause and breathe.

I‘ve read “Miss Iceland” and quite enjoyed it and the authors particular writing style. “Hotel Silence” is about a man who is at a crossroads. He doesn‘t know who he is, or where his life is going. Alone, and in pain, he decides to travel to a war torn country to commit suicide. Once there, he meets the hotel owners and locals and slowly begins to find purpose. ⭐️⭐️⭐️3.5

CuriousG Heartbreaking, yet such an important thing to read about. Had a few ugly cries while reading this one.
