1.The sun is shining here and there is a lovely breeze - couldn't ask for better weather.
2. I am looking forward to this evening, my famjam is going to check out the harvest jazz festival.
3.Next week is a busy one - my daughter's birthday (13), my husband's birthday and I am traveling out of town for work.
4! I started Simone St. James's The Broken Girls and.its giving delicious spooky season vibes!
@AllDebooks
This one is a pan for me. The book was fast-paced. However, none of the characters were likable. I finished it as I wanted to know how it ended but was left feeling "meh."
Kay Scarpetta never disappoints! This one was about murder by microwave (not a spoioer) - very interesting.
I feel like this is a book that you need to be in the right frame of mind to read. It's relationship centered versus action/thriller, etc. That being said, I loved it! The characters were authentic and real and it was the perfect book to read outside on this beautiful day.
Twisty mystery that kept me guessing until the end!
Fantastic book. Non fiction. A fourth grade teacher and her class start a no kill animal shelter. They are faced with numerous obstacles- the city is determined to shut them down- but they persevere and save the lives of over 20,000 animals. Amazing.
Thank you @TheLudicReader for my amazing #LLSS package!! Everything was beautifully wrapped and so thoughtfully chosen. I loooove the fall stationary and the coffee beans smell SO good. Thank you for spoiling me ♡♡♡
@Bookwormjillk - I'm so glad you posted about this book! It was great. Really interesting characters and a good mystery. I look forward to checking out the next 2 books in the series.
This series is my first experience with TJ Klune. I can see why he is so beloved. I love the characters and the story just keeps getting better.
Today was one of those days that's hard on the head. Time to unwind with some fresh air on this beautiful evening.
Ahhh - 20*c - my kind of weather. Perfect for reading outside.
@Bookgoil and @Deblovestoread - my #LLSS parcel went in the maul today. So excited for my partner to receive it. Thank you for organizing.
Page one hooked me. Amazing book - ALL the stars. Found family, adventure, love and werewolves - who could ask for more.
The cover and title are very misleading on this one. There is a working dog, but he is a very small part of the story and not mentioned often. Quick read that was easy on my brain during our heat wave.
Great read! Non-fiction written by a paramedic in Atlanta. He does an excellent job telling about the things he has seen, keeping the story interesting while also being real and respectful about tragedy and the reality of the job. Two thumbs up.
Great beach read. I was able to keep one eye on the kiddos and one eye on the book. Entertaining plot - it kept me turning pages and wanting to know what was going to happen next.
This one kept me interested all the way through. I enjoyed the changing narrative. My only note is that it felt like the author may have tried too hard to have multiple plot twists.
@dabbe - 41% for me - #threelistThursday.
Movies I loved from that timeframe:
1. Country Strong
2. Fast and Furious franchise
3. How To Train Your Dragon
Still unsure how I feel about this series. I love the concept of people with natural crime solving abilities, and the murder mysteries are good. However the teenage angst drives me nuts! That being said, I will need to know how the story ends and will be reading book 4.
1. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
2. Samantha Irby - I tried and I just don't get her humor, it comes across as whiny to me.
3. So many! I spent my teen years raiding my moms bookshelves. Lots of Sandra Brown. Lord of The Rings was read multiple times.

Interesting dip into top grade hiring. I enjoy that they have this condensed version of their much lengthier book available. I'm excited to research this hiring method more. Does anyone on Litsy use top grade hiring?
The body of a girl who has been missing for 30 years has been found, as well as the secrets that were buried with it.
Page-turner! I did not guess the culprit until the end.
Have you ever been in a funk and not realized it? That's how I felt tonight when I sat down to write some letters! It felt great and I realized how long it has been since I've replied to my Litsylove letters. @TheLudicReader and @dabbe your letters will be on the way tomorrow ♡. I'll keep working away until I am caught up- looking forward to reaching out to everyone ♡.
Jane Harper does it again. Great mystery and atmosphere that kept me guessing until the end.
Although a bit grisly for my taste, the characters were great and the book was fast moving. Entertaining weekend read.
1. My plans for this week - work, travel to a work conference, continue to try and kick a virus that's had its hold on me for a week now.
2. I'm on the east coast of Canada and we are above 0 degrees Celsius- it's very exciting!
3. The view from the window at my workplace.
Fun game @Cupcake12 and @wanderinglynn !

Although fiction, the tone of this book is more dour than other park ranger/warden books I have read. I'm not sure I would have finished it if I wasn't listening to it on audio. The main character was not compelling and I didn't feel attached to his story. There is also extreme violence against dogs at 3 parts in this book that I did not expect and totally hated. I don't think I will continue with this series.
Although I would not have guessed that this book is considered adult fantasy (it has a very YA feel), it was a great read. The story and its characters captured me from the first page. It felt as if I was reading something different rather than the typical tropes that are popular. I'm glad the second book has also been published.
The gastro bug has hit my house. Kiddo was up all night, hubby sick all day and now my tummy is turning. Not an exciting weekend. My sweet dog hasn't left my kiddos side.
Thank you for the tag @dabbe!
I am excited.to read The Berry Pickers this month. I do not have any books on pre order.

Great prompt @TheSpineView
1. LOTR series
2. Little House on The Prarie series
3. Handmaids Tale (novel & graphic novel).
@dabbe . #tlt.

Anyone doing the Jimmy Fallon book club? There are 16 books (could not fit them all in my screen shot) that they are going to whittle to 8, then 2. The winner will be Fallon's official book club read this spring. If you have already read any of these, voting is open!
Came across this paragraph about insecurities and bullying in Rachael Harrison's Cackle. As someone whose name rhymes with both "smelly" and "jelly" (and I've never been petite), I totally get this!
Great book! A wounded police officer and a combat vet dog. Both wounded, haunted by the past, and still wanting to work. Interesting crime/mystery, great character development and I loved how Maggie the dog was portrayed.
Excellent! Three novellas, each has fantastic characters, interesting storyline, and 5 star steam!
Listened to this one on audio, and I feel that helped - multi cast recording. I feel this is an example of a fictional book trying so hard to make a point/deliver a message (about societies obsession with true crime) that the story was lost. I was not invested in the missing person and was left with "meh" at the end.
1. Rabid - Bill Wasik
2. Cabin Fever - Michael Smith
3. How to Be A Good Creature - Sy Montgomery

@DinoMom , @DebbieGrillo, @AmyG - wanna play?
Best graphic novel I have read in ages!!! A YA love story at its core, but its so much more. It tackles the decisions we make as parents, which we think are in our childrens best interests, butsometimes they are not. It also showcases Korean culture and lion dancing. This story has an amazing cast of characters (some of whom made me laugh out loud). The illustrations are beautiful.
Kelley Armstrong does it again. Could not put this book down. Book 2 in the Haven's Rock series.
I'm so glad I took a leap and decided to try book 2 in this series after a "meh" for book 1. This book had less YA angst, a great mystery, and was fast-paced. I look forward to checking out book 3.
A cozy mystery with an excellent cast of characters. Reminded me a lot of Janet Evanovich. I look forward to more books in this series.
I am hooked on this series! Interesting mysteries, wildlife and the characters are well developed. Main character Mike Bowditch grows and matures more in each book. I look forward to what he gets involved with next.
Hmm, I cannot figure out how to fit my whole picture. I read 9 books in January. The 3 not pictured are the next 2 in the Paul Doiron Mike Bowditch Game Warden series and the tagged book. Only one 5 star - The Many Lives of Mama Love. All others were solid 4 stars.
