Here are my upcoming plans for the year. I love having a monthly focus, and I find it helps with my reading productivity. By setting aside a week or a month to focus on middle grade, or ARCs, or chunky books i tend to do better with hitting goals, and avoiding slumps.

Not all of these events are hosted by me, just ones I plan to participate in. Check out the hashtags as the months get closer, if you‘d like to join along. ❤️

Just got the email that this years #Leuchtturm1917 colours are now out, and I‘m OBSESSED! Fox Red, Mint Green, & Forest Green would all be beautiful for my #WinterGames planning, and the Light Grey would be perfect for #Scarathlon….. so I need to buy all four, right? RIGHT? It doesn‘t matter that I already have multiple blank bullet journals, these ones are the best! I‘m going to be hounding the site for sales.

TheBookHippie I cannot advice I‘m addicted to notebooks. 🤣 5mo
ShananigansReads Of course you do! 5mo
Ruthiella You need these! You are the bujo queen! 5mo

One More for Christmas | Sarah Morgan

I‘ve been tearing through all my Christmas audios, and although there‘s been a few duds, it‘s mostly been winners! So far my favourites are Christmas Cowboy, Puppy Christmas, and the Silver Bell Falls series from Samantha Chase. 😍 #Winterthon

Andrew65 Shows you how many Christmas books are out there, only read three of them. Well done on a great first week. 🎅🏼🎅🏼🎅🏼 6mo
Clwojick @Andrew65 I know! I have another 165 saved on Scribd, 18 purchased on Chirp, and 450+ on Kindle. 🙈 I love them though. For whatever reason, I‘m much more forgiving to a bland or unmemorable plot so long as there‘s lots of Christmas cheer thrown in. 🎄 6mo
DieAReader Great job🥳🥳🥳 6mo
Andrew65 @Clwojick I‘m the same and thank (blame😂) #WinterGames. Love a good Christmas book and romance. 6mo

London we seem to be in London a lot at Christmasy book time for our buddy reads! What do you like to read in December ?

101 things to do in London at Christmas : https://www.visitlondon.com/things-to-do/whats-on/christmas/101-things-to-do-in-...

AmyG We do! And while I am never too excited to read these books I seem to find them sweet and comforting. I usually read alot in December as we don‘t celebrate Christmas so I have lots of time. I try to catch up on some best books of the year. 6mo
CoffeeNBooks Until finding Litsy, I didn't really read many Christmas books or romcoms. Now Christmas romcoms seem to be one of my favorite genres. And London is one of my favorite settings for books. I also love reading books by British authors, because I love the British phrases and expressions. They're so much fun! 6mo
megnews @CoffeeNBooks I agree. Also reading it in an accent in my head! 6mo

megnews I usually read christmasy books in December and yes a lot are in London. I am not a fan of romcoms but there‘s something about the comfort of a lighter feel good story during this month. This year I‘m not reading as many because my November reads bled into this month. 6mo
Deblovestoread Litsy has changed my seasonal reading. For #wintergames one year I read so many of these that I swore I would never read one again. One is just perfect. 6mo
TheBookHippie @Deblovestoread HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Preaching to the choir on that. I do this to myself every year for good measure. 6mo
mcctrish Lately I‘ve been trying to find Christmasy books to read. I still have 2 non-fiction on the go on audio and I‘m wondering what is wrong with me, who wants to listen to atrocities while decorating the Christmas tree?! But for sure I like light reads as I wind down the year 6mo
Read4life Before Litsy and while working retail, December reads were few for me and never romance. Litsy has turned me on to romcoms and it‘s become a genre I really like. Christmas romance in particular. I also get to read a ton more in December now. 💙🤓 6mo
vlwelser These are generally too cheerful for me. But I don't mind reading one a year. 6mo
TheBookHippie @vlwelser SAME. However so far only one SNARK frustration … 6mo
vlwelser I don't mind this so far. It has potential. And it's not full on ridiculous, which I appreciate. 6mo
TheBookHippie @vlwelser I so agree. 6mo
DebinHawaii I used to shy away from Christmas reads but I agree, Litsy has got me reading more holiday rom com. I like the lighter reads this time of year—ones I can pick up & put down easily without thinking too much about them. I tend to buy cheap holiday ebooks this time of year. Cozy mysteries with a holiday theme are great for December too. 6mo
DebinHawaii Oh, and London is a great setting for rom-coms & holidays too. It feels like the holidays to me! 6mo
Andrew65 @CoffeeNBooks Ditto, before Litsy not at all. Now I get my fix every Christmas 😂
Strange being set in Streatham in London as I spent the first 20 years of my life there so like going home!
TheBookHippie @Andrew65 how fun. We keep visiting by book every years seems we should have Litsy Sunday buddy read trip there next 😂♥️. 6mo
julieclair I am all about lighthearted, feel good books in December. #DecemberFluff ! Romcoms and cozy mysteries fit the bill. But they must be well-written or they get on my nerves, lol. I also like to read Christmas non-fiction... Advent devotionals and books about Christmas traditions. 6mo
CoverToCoverGirl I have never based my reading on a season. I generally read whatever strikes my fancy, so this is a first for me. 6mo
DanaManiac I feel like I trade the enemies-to-lovers for straight romance once the holidays roll around 🤣 6mo
TheBookHippie @DanaManiac BAHAHAHAHAHA!!! 6mo
TheBookHippie @CoverToCoverGirl I only did it for a very few books and by joining Litsy it sure has changed me to read way more seasonally these last almost seven years. 6mo
DanaManiac @TheBookHippie 😂😂😂 I don‘t want any of that conflict and miscommunication stuff. We just saw a Hallmark movie where someone “came back from the dead” and my husband was like “this is so unrealistic” exactly…just perfect! 🤣 6mo
TheBookHippie @DanaManiac I mock all the holiday movies.......so much snark. OY. and then I will watch Little Women and go aweeeeeee. HA. 6mo
DanaManiac @TheBookHippie Little Women is my FAVORITE holiday movie! It came out when I was 10 and I saved up my money and took my mom to see it (it was the first time I paid for a movie). 6mo
TheBookHippie @DanaManiac How sweet! Made me tear up!!!

I watched the 1933 movie with my grandma at Christmas time and then in 1994(Winona) we saw it in theater together at Christmas. Such a wonderful movie to be so special.
DanaManiac @TheBookHippie aww that‘s so lovely! 🥰 6mo
Andrew65 @TheBookHippie Road trip 🤣🤣🤣 6mo
peanutnine @DanaManiac lol I'm the same way at Christmas time. I want zero conflict and all fluff 😂 6mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I like a little fluff, but I'm also open to reading anything. My planned reads are a smattering of different fiction books so maybe I'll use that vacation time to read instead of cleaning & visiting people. I tend to get my holiday spirit more from music, movies, & decorations than books. 6mo

I am one of those annoying people that are fine with Christmas music in November (honestly, I'd listen all year round), so I found this short audio book on the top Christmas songs super interesting. I kind of love that most of the songs we still hear today are the ones we grew up with, and that so did our parents. Now excuse me while I go blast All I Want For Christmas.... #WinterGames @DieAReader @Andrew65 @GHABI4ROSES

Andrew65 If that is the case keep an eye on the #WinterReadathonDailyChallenge today, you‘ll love it (I hope) 🤣 It will be up very shortly.
Well done 🎄🎄🎄
MidnightBookGirl @Andrew65 Hahaha, I just saw it! It does seem like perfect timing! 6mo

I am so glad that there is a #readathon to replace #wintergames. My overall goal for the #winterreadathon is to complete my #bookspinbingo card, get to my goal of 50 read books in a year (I have 3 more left to read for the year to reach my goal) and have some fun reading during the holiday season.

keys_on_fire Great goals! Good luck! 🍀 6mo
DieAReader Excellent goals! Glad ur joining in with us all! Happy reading🎄📚🤓 6mo
Andrew65 Wow! 50 books. Best of luck 🎄🎄🎄 Great to have a Readathon at this time of year and good to see so many joining. 6mo
melissajayne @Andrew65 I have 3 books left to hit my yearly goal of 50 books read for the year 😉 6mo
Andrew65 @melissajayne Should more than get to that I would imagine. 6mo

Last year during #wintergames, I wanted a way to track the word search words in my reading. Since I'm participating in #WinterReadathon that also has a word search, I thought I would do it again since it made things SOOOO much easier. I write the words on the back & tally them up. New one each week!
Thanks to artsyfartsymama for sharing these free, printable bookmarks!

Andrew65 What a great idea and a great link. Thanks 😍 (edited) 6mo
keys_on_fire @Andrew65 You‘re welcome! I love that we even get to have a coloring session with these 😆 6mo

The fun of #WinterReadthon is about to start or already has in some parts of the world. This is a pick and mix readthon and you can join any or all of the four elements.

1. Readathon where you pick your own goals.

2. Bingo / Word Search see link for the post explaining this.

3. Weekly point scoring for fun for those who like to collate points, the scoring for points is above and will be collected on 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th Dec and 6th Jan.

LibrarianRyan 😍 😍 😍 😍This is just evil!! 😍 6mo
Andrew65 4. Daily Challenge or Prompt - each day there will be a prompt posted which could be a game, a challenge, a photograph to post, or book cover to post fitting a certain criteria, etc. we will be trying to mix it up and keep it fresh.

Even if you are not doing the main Readathon n you can still join the daily prompt or the bingo.

We just want December to be fun and engaging for everyone.

As Tiny Tim said ‘God Bless Us, Every One‘

Andrew65 @Areader2 It‘s all about fun so do as little or as much as you want to and feel free to dip in and out of it between 1st December and 5th Jan as you are able to around other commitments. It‘s very relaxed and informal. Great to have you with us. 🎄🎅🎄🎅🎄 6mo
Andrew65 @Areader2 There‘s 100s of Christmas books out there so something to suit every taste. 6mo

I have been mixing in some Christmas romances for the last week or so, and they are already as terrible as I remember. I love it!! This one wasn't too bad, just kind of a downer the whole time. Literally everything in Kate's life sucks and keeps getting suckier. If there is a chance for luck to go bad, it goes way bad. Yet somehow everything is magically resolved in just a few pages at the end??? Not the worst I have ever read, but it left me⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) a little let down just because some of the resolutions didn't feel completely likely. 6mo
mabell “As terrible as I remember” 🤣🤣 6mo
TheAromaofBooks @mabell - My favorite kind of terrible 😂 6mo
willaful I've been feeling kind of the same way. I hardly ever read Christmas romances, especially in a timely fashion 😁 but for some reason I have been and they're so silly and I love it. 6mo
TheAromaofBooks @willaful - I never used to read Christmas romances at Christmas time (particularly), but when I started participating in #WinterGames a few years ago, it got me all inspired, and now I genuinely look forward to 95% Christmas/holiday fluff for the final month of the year!! 6mo

Been a little awol from Litsy recently. So I just saw the news about #WinterGames being cancelled. I totally get needing to take a break though. It makes me happy to see all the random holiday/winter challenges popping up though. I was getting my December list ready and came across this “chilly and killy” category 😂

DebinHawaii That is a fabulous name for them! 🤣 6mo
