I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!
#ABookADay2023
Revisiting some old friends today. I feel like I've been in a slump with my last few books and decided I needed to check in on a favorite that I haven't read in some time. I'm only a few pages in but feeling better already. Don't you just love it when that happens? 🥰❤☕️📖
My kiddo made bookmarks for my book club the other day. 😊
I‘ve run an in-person book club for almost 20 years. Initially, we sent out invites and announcements via email, then Evite. Are there other invitation platforms out there that folks can recommend? Thinking of an upgrade…
I just watched this movie (and really enjoyed it). I then realized I have the book. #booktoscreen
You can see my cat cave on the mid right that neither cat uses. 😌
I tried to love this book... I tried to like this book... I failed!!! I did not like this book. There was great potential for this book to be amazing, but it threw a lot of random information in that was rarely or never followed up on. I was hoping for a book about a book club, what I got was a book about five people explaining their connection to each other. I mean some people may enjoy this book, I was not one of them.
📚📚
Tomorrow at 6 pm Central US time is our last bonus December watch party! Zoom invites have been sent to all who have signed up, but there‘s still time to join us if you‘re interested! 😉
#PemberLittens
My book club gals @lollymya @chelsey_5 are the best. I had the best time hang out with them yesterday...exchanging gifts, talking books, laughing, enjoying boozy coffee. Their friendships are priceless to me. 😘 #bayoubookbunch
Zoom invites have been sent for our first #PemberLittens watch party tomorrow!
Tagging those who have already signed up, but anyone is welcome!
@Eggs
Thanks @Buechersuechtling for the tag
1) I'd love to go visit Polynesia some day. I guess I've been watching Moana too often 😂
2) The only thing I want to finish this month is the tagged book for my bookclub. I don't do any challenges those tend to stress me out too much.
Want to play? @LittleBug @Heideschrampf @julesG
I‘ve scheduled some watch parties for The Jane Austen Book Club and Lost in Austen, starting this weekend! If you filled out the planning form, I believe I have dates/times that will work for you.😉

Tagging the #PemberLittens but, as usual, anyone and everyone is welcome!
Don‘t worry, we will have NA watch parties in January!
The only good thing about this novel, besides the hommage to Jane Austen, is that it made me wish to join a book club🍵🧁☕🍪
1. Hey there‘s toilet paper in stock
2. The RIGHT TO VOTE 🌊🌊🌊🌊
#ThankfulThursday
I‘m not sure if I remember the book. I know I‘ve seen the movie. Does that count?
I really wanted to like it, cause the idea is good, but K J Fowler just ain't as good a writer as Miss Austen is... by far. Meh.

Really looking forward to my next #12littens12books read that has been on my TBR forever! Thanks for the pick @julesG !

@sprainedbrain has started this wonderful book club #pemberlittens and I‘m so excited to join and read/re-read Austen‘s novels!!!! ❤️
Thank you to everyone who has joined so far, made suggestions, voted, chimed in on GR and slack, or just generally been enthusiastic about a JA group.😊
#PemberLittens is the winner for group name–thanks to @rubyslippersreads for a brilliant name!
The majority want to read Jane‘s novels in the order she wrote them, so we will start with S&S in May.
Feel free to share this post–new members always welcome!
Lots more info in the comments⬇️
This sounds like a blast! @sprainedbrain is forming a Jane Austen book club and has a form link on her page. Check it out if you‘re an Austen fan!

Lovers of Jane Austen and all those curious, run immediately to @sprainedbrain ‘s post to sign up for the all things Austen book club and appreciation society! (I rather enjoy this turn of phrase btw) 😉❤️
I have been meaning to read more of Austen‘s works for years after loving Pride & Prejudice. I‘m ridiculously excited at the idea of doing it with a lovely group of littens! 😘
I‘m very excited that several people are interested!
I‘ve created a google form—not required to participate, but I would love your ideas. Tagging tbr people who commented on my earlier post but this is open to all and please feel free to share!

I‘m overdue for a reread of Jane‘s novels, I have so many Austenesque books on my tbr, and I‘m always down for tv/movie adaptations.
We could start with the novels and branch out from there with suggestions from the group. People could jump in and out depending on their interest in the group‘s current focus.
Comment if you‘re interested and please share! Tagging friends who *might* be down for this (no pressure) but the more the merrier.

Ever start a book & feel you‘ve read it already?
We have a severe case of the Mondays. The neighbours had a party into the very wee hours of the night.
#12Littens12BooksRound2 - with fewer Littens and fewer books 😁
#ShadowCat even had his front paws on me a moment ago. Something he rarely does.
Grigg was a neat, dark-haired man in his early forties. The first thing you noticed about him was his eyelashes, which were very long and thick. We imagined a lifetime of aunts regretting the waste of those lashes in the face of a boy. We‘d known Jocelyn long enough to wonder whom Grigg was intended for. Grigg was too young for some of us, too old for the rest. His #inclusion in the club was mystifying. #QuotsyFeb20 #TheMovieIsBetter
Dang, I liked the movie better. There was just some cringe-worthy semantics in this one. I love the whole bookclub setting, but I wasn‘t as invested in the characters as much as I need to be in order to recall their particulars in another month. That‘s pretty much what defines a meh for me.
Decent read. Though in this case the movie may trump it as the cast in that is kinda brilliant.
#letterj
My favorite part of Litsy? Connecting with others- Thankyou Jenny for this wonderful, thoughtful birthday surprise! The magnet brought tears to my eyes🥰 #BFCr3 #bfcbuddies
Thought I would have a hard time reading for 8-10 hrs today, but I ended up with 10.5 (14.5 total). I may not get as much in tomorrow because of youth group, etc. Saturdays are usually my excessive reading day if I‘m free. Also stayed up too late. #24b4monday @ReadingMermaid @Andrew65 @jb72 #summersendreadathon @Clwojick
Finished this one, took me awhile to get characters straight & get into it. Like the Jane Austen theme. Book 2 for readathons.
Do you like to read with a book club IRL? Online? Or are you purely an independent reader?
Such a fun movie to spend the afternoon with. ? @ all y'all with the #BookFitnessChallenge #bfc - see, I'm resting/recovering from the surgery! ? I may or may not have put "watch a movie" on my to do list for the day, just to force myself to rest... ? I'm also getting some good reading in and will try to get some reviews up later! @wanderinglynn
Saturdays and on Netflix ...hated the book love the movie 📖❤️
My #BookBuyingBan is going really well. 🙈
Ordered some second hand DVDs and looked for books for my #CupidGoesPostal match.
Found Six of Crows in the local Oxfam shop. Hardcover for 2 Euros. Couldn't leave it on the shelf.

@thegirlwiththelibrarybag
Reading this because it was in the 'Recommended Next' list of the last book I read.
My Friday read...I love this book! and I love the movie too, actually I enjoyed the movie more than the book.
Thanks for a great book club list. Please check out @BookNAround ‘s feed for a great link ! Here‘s a photo of part of the list.

Day 4: Local author Karen Joy Fowler. I enjoyed The Jane Austen Bookclub written by her and also set locally. Some books she has loved include Cloud Atlas, The Hamilton Case, and The Truth About Celia.
@ErinSueG @WhiskeyMistress
In a California reading group, five women (and one man) meet to discuss the works of Jane Austen. Six members, who meet over six months to discuss the novels, which seem to have some kind of relevance to events in their own lives.
#HeatofJuly #californiagurls
#ReadingResolutions #BookishFriends
The members of the Jane Austen Book Club didn't all start out as friends but over the course of six books, they formed some good bookish friendships. Confession--I liked the movie better--probably because I like most of the cast so much.
🤩🤩🤩 Thanks for sharing. 💚🩷💚 3w
