The Mother-in-Law | Sally Hepworth
post image

This wasn‘t what I expected. There is a mystery & a twist but what really kept me reading were the relationships between the characters. As a daughter, former daughter-in-law and mom to a daughter (now almost 21), I thought the different perspectives really helped to understand Amy and her mother-in-law, Diane. It‘s also a reminder to be careful what you say & how you say things to people. Mother/daughter relationships are so complicated! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

jillannjohn Also, I thought the issues around money between the adult children & their parents were really interesting. 2y

This book started off great. I really like the setting of the creepy historical building with a scary past. And of course I loved that there was a connection to a book and its author. I thought it was going to be a supernatural thriller but then it went in a completely unexpected direction at the end. It‘s good but not my favorite by Riley Sager.
