#MarchMadness #MarchMadnessReadathon #DailyChallenge

Today we pose a #DailyQuestion as opposed to a #DailyChallenge.

What do you do to de-stress, unwind & decompress. We know that most of us read for these purposes & more but, what else do you do? Crafts? Outings? Binge watching? Exercise etc…

📸: All courtesy of Google Images

Bookwormjillk I go for a walk or sing along with the radio. 13mo
AnnR I watch Travels by Narrowboat or The Mindful Narrowboat vlogs, among a few others that I personally find relaxing on YouTube. 13mo
AmyG Meditation 13mo

dabbe I meditate by listening to rain, ocean, or snowstorm sounds on my Sonos. Or I mix up my own at this website: https://asoftmurmur.com/ 13mo
Crazeedi Read, cook, or sleep! 13mo
Andrew65 Mainly read or watch cricket. If particularly bad I might go for a walk. 13mo
LiseWorks Trail walk in the woods 13mo
CaitZ I'll either go for a walk or take a nap. 13mo
MaGoose Read, go walking. Once in a while, I'll binge watch one of the Star Trek series or the Sleepy Hollow series. 13mo
TheSpineView @Andrew65 Do you even have to ask me this question!?! Even though you know this already, I ride my horses. I am a USEF member and actively compete in 3 day eventing. 13mo
CoffeeNBooks Read, watch/listen to the birds that visit the bird feeder and birdbath in my yard, cook, watch tv, or snuggle with my cats. 13mo
OriginalCyn620 I‘ll watch a favorite movie or tv series, listen to some favorite music, or play some Candy Crush. If it‘s particularly bad, I‘ll eat some junk food! 13mo
DieAReader Thank you all so much for all the coping skills, mechanisms & ideas💙💕 Mine were always 🚬, writing, reading & music. When the words deserted me, many years ago now, the books saved me. I‘m being told by my healthcare providers that they are no longer enough. I need new hobbies and coping skills. I‘m just very, very overwhelmed & therefore I‘m profusely apologizing for not being a more active participant during the #DailyChallenges 13mo
DieAReader (Continued) Sometimes an emoji is all I have in me, hence the comments from me🤷🏻‍♀️😢 have been short as well late. Thank you all for reading my blurb & for being the best damned Littens ever💙 13mo
ravenlee I make things out of yarn - crochet and knit. Specifically, I make a lot of things that are easy and repetitive, like scarves and baby blankets. Most of the time I don‘t even follow a pattern, so there‘s less frustration involved. 13mo
Cupcake12 Just to sit next to my fur babies and hold them tight can help to de-stress. Love going out for a scenic walk too. 13mo
JanuarieTimewalker13 I creative journal. It brings me so much peace using all different art supplies such as brush pens, watercolors, washi tape, ephemera, stickers, etc. it‘s so much fun and it‘s really my meditation. Start with EmiLou arts…she hasn‘t done much recently, but if you go back 2-3 years, there‘s tons of material on YT. A walk definitely helps me too, but when I‘m in a funk, it‘s hard to get out the door. 13mo
ElizaMarie Log bubble baths, face mask, hair mask, wine, cheese, just relax and take it easy! 13mo
Eggs 💗💗💗I cuddle my grands and/or talk with them & ask questions!! They are so full of life, it gives me back my enthusiasm. I also walk a couple miles/day @Andrew65 @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES (edited) 13mo
DieAReader @Eggs 💕🥰💙 13mo
slategreyskies For me, whether I‘m feeling down in a general sense or whether I‘m in crisis, the approach is much the same. I use my coping skills. I had to make a list of them years ago during therapy. They also gave me a list of common coping skills to get me started, most of which have been in the responses above, plus many others. They told me that, if I was ever in a bad spot, to pick something on my list and do that thing. Then, if I was still down, ⬇️ 13mo
slategreyskies I should choose another thing off the list. If I couldn‘t choose where to start, just start at the top of the list and work my way through the coping skills. If I got to the end of the list and still wasn‘t feeling well, I should start at the top and go through them again. That advice has been life changing. It‘s helped me take care of me when things were brutally hard, and it‘s helped me to not give up. Make your own list specific to you. ⬇️ 13mo
slategreyskies Include on it everything you can think of. Big things, little things (especially little things). Everything from taking a bath to listening to music to texting a friend to going for a drive to watching tv to… you get the picture. Over the years, being kind to myself when I wasn‘t feeling like me has helped me so much. And now that my son is sick and has been since fall, I use my coping skills a lot to keep me going. Just keep going. Don‘t give up. 13mo
Eggs @DieAReader 🥰🤗🥰 13mo
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Hang out with my dog, yoga, or sing in the car, though to be fair, I don't get stressed too easily. 13mo
Velvetfur I love reading other people's ideas, as I don't know how to cope when overwhelmed and tend to get very angry and make angry noises and burst into tears..... Like I did in work on Friday morning ☹️ @DieAReader I'm sending you love and solidarity, and @slategreyskies thank you so much for sharing your coping techniques, it's so inspiring, I really appreciate it 💜 13mo
Velvetfur Also @slategreyskies sorry to hear your son is sick, sending love to the family (ran out of space in my previous comment) xxx 13mo
DieAReader @slategreyskies 💕Thank you do much for sharing your techniques. @Velvetfur 💙Love & solidarity to you too hun🙂🥰 13mo

#MarchMadness

We had such a blast cohosting #WinterReadathon that we‘re doing it again🤓📚🤗

A ‘choose your own goals‘ Readathon. It‘s easily adaptable to whatever life is throwing your way. We‘ll be doing the #DailyChallenges again.

We‘re looking for any ideas & input of what other ideas you‘d like to see & participate in.

Another BINGO card? A new weekly &/or a month long card? What prompt ideas does everyone have?

📚SHARE! SHARE! SHARE!

CoffeeNBooks Yay! So exciting! I loved the Bingo card and Daily Challenges for the #WinterReadathon. I also love a set of prompts. Maybe some sort of March Madness book bracket? 1y

#WinterReadathon

Week 5 was a low key one but I read what I was in the mood for when I had time. Did a couple #DailyChallenges but, mostly just tried to keep up lol😂

Thanks so much everyone for all the great posts and new book ideas, the laughs and the participation! The Readathon went off without a hitch & I‘m so happy to see everyone enjoyed themselves and got some if not lots of reading done.

Ruthiella Thank you for hosting! 😃 1y

#WinterReadathon #BookNookBuddies2022 #ReadMyRoom #SeriesReads #BookSpinBingo

Week 4 was a very slow reading week. Tried to catch up on the #DailyChallenges as best I could but couldn‘t bring myself to watch any theme movies & I got no bingo progress to report either☹️☹️☹️

I‘m setting the holiday reads aside for 2023 but will keep up with everything else as best as I can.

Andrew65 Life throws challenges at us and sometimes that means reading needs to take a backward step for a while. Know it will come around 🥰 1y
