#Celebrate Magic Realism. I am not a fan of the band Red Hot Chili Peppers. But it is classified as magic realism. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

For those of you who read #InDeathLongReadalong and want to know what Roarke would look like, here is a Gpt generated photo after all the descriptions were inputted from the series. They put him in space or, as the books say, off planet. It seems funny to me as we don't care what Eve looks like but are fascinated by Roarke. #RoarkeFans
@StayCurious

I think I'm hooked on this series about everyone in this family finding love. It was quite a good book that I read pretty quickly. #Read2026 @DieAReader #SeriesLove26

Because it happens around New years, I read it. It was good and gave me lots of #ISpyBingoSpots. Jan and special bingo spots #SomePeopleSay #AboutABook @TheAromaofBooks @OriginalCyn620
This is my first book read for #JanuaryBluesReadathon

#Celebrate LockedRmMystery This song is about how we put on a facade because we have insecurities to hide. I feel like a locked room mystery does the same. Sara McLachlan released this song in 1997. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

I am definitely going to be a mood reader for this Readathon. I am going to work on a few books for BuddyReads, but mainly, it's whatever I find in the next week to read I'll post.
#JanuaryBluesReadathon

Audio Crafting. I love embroidery and a good book to listen to. Anne drove me crazy with her insistent talking. The MC of this book was fantastic. I cried at the end. I must say it was written and published in 1908 and it showed in the thinking of the time. Overall, it was a good book. #LitsyCrafters @CatsandBooks
@StayCurious I finally read/listened to this book

I never wanted to read this book even though I'm a Canadian. The tv shows used to drive me nuts. But then I needed to do an audio book so I could do embroidery. I'll post that later. A cute book about a deer who realizes that his feet are the beat part of his body as his antlers are merely decorations. A bingonspot for #ISpyBingoJan @TheAromaofBooks

#Celebrate Chose W'out Blurb I don't know, but I grew up with Gordon Lightfoot, one of my Dads favorite singers. A great songwriter, so my pick for today. This whole album. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

I heard a story on the news this morning on how to beat the January Blues. So, I thought I would do a #JanuaryBluesReadathon. Escaping in a book to either a warm place or a cold place with warm characters is a wonderful way to beat those January Blues.
Jan 10 to the 20th. January is one of the longest months for me. Join me and tag @Liseworks with books you plan to read, finish, work on, or start. Let's beat those blues!

One of the best life lessons for kids is to learn how to count money. When I have a kid come to my booth with a handful of change, I help them count it and teach them how much they need to buy what they want.They usually just drop all they have with such enthusiasm until they realize they don't have enough. Oh dear, I say. Parents don't realize how bad a vendor can feel when little eyes get sad.Then I give in and give it for whatever they have.

#Celebrate NF written by Gorden Lightfoot about an event that happened on Lake Superior Nov 10th 1975 where 29 lives were lost with this wreck. When he wrote this song, his producers told him it was too long, but Lightfoot was adamant with the length
@Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

#Celebrate IncludPhobia I'm not a fan of punk rock, so I couldn't listen to this song to its entirety. I never there was such a thing as Somniphobia. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

#Celebrate Holiday Setting This song 🎵 Holiday was released in 1967 @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

A very productive readathon. I finished 2 books, worked on 2 for BuddyReads, and did some audio crafting while listening to Anne of green gables. Thanks, @Bookwormjillk, for hosting.

I read this book because I needed "Turtleneck" prompt for #ISpyBingoDec. I laughed a lot while reading it. There are lots of quotes from authors at the beginning of each chapter. This book is for 40 years old and up. Gave me more bingo spots January and a couple on the special editions #SomePeopleSay #AllAboutBooks @TheAromaofBooks @OriginalCyn620 #Read2026 @DieAReader

The only bingo spot found with this book. My second book read this year.

This book was read for #2026FoodandLit @Texreader @Butterfinger @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick It was a page turner, heartbreak, and oh boy how can such a small country go through what they went through. #2026NewYearsReadathon @Bookwormjillk #Read2026 @DieAReader

#Celebrate Has authors' notes. Here is Monica Whitlock singing a song about Authors Note in her closet walls. The song is pretty raw. The book is Beyond the Oxus. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

#Welcome2026Readathon, I did pretty good with this readathon. I finished 3 books, started 2 and worked on 1. Thanks to those who also joined in my readathon.

It's a great book with surprise in pockets flaps. Another bingo spot for #ISpyBingoDec @TheAromaofBooks

#Celebrate Journey I have to go with Tom Cochrane and "Life is a Highway," and he's Canadian ??
@Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

I'm done with my #LittensLoveSJM reading for the week. @StayCurious #Welcome2026Readathon #26For26 @Bookwormjillk

#5JoysFriday @DebinHawaii
I don't have photos of all my joys this week.
1. Had Ember my grandpup for the week.
2. Did a cross stitch to make a card
3. Did a great turker supper for my daughter and boyfriend today as they came to pick up their cat and dog
4. Received my recipe book to start my Mediterranean diet
5. I saw the most amazing sunset tonight. It was -27 celcius this morning. It's great to make ice on the lake for ice fishing season

I chose this book because I needed a bingo spot for #ISpyBingoNov. A story based on true events. How the Danes helped save over 7000 jews by smuggling them to Sweden. It's a short novella but worth the read. It also started my #ISpyBingoJan @TheAromaofBooks #Welcome2026Readathon #20For26 #NewYearsReadathon @Bookwormjillk

When you're reading a book and your name shows up. 💗 Especially mine. I don't see it often in a book I read.

Got my reading done for the first check-in for #InDeathLongReadalong @StayCurious
#20For26 #NewYearsReadathon @Bookwormjillk

Cute board book about how to catch Santa. It's funny and great to read to kids up to 3, but I think grown-ups will like this book, too! #ISpyBingoDec @TheAromaofBooks

#Celebrate Title based on song. Go Tell It On The Mountain was 1st classified as a Christmas Carol. In 1963 Peter, Paul and Mary sang it. This book by James Baldwin sounds interesting. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Picked this one for Bingo Spots for #ISpyBingoDec @TheAromaofBooks. I have been reading these lately and kind of like them. This one was really good. I must say a cry at the ending kind of book. Another down for #Welcome2026Readathon #Read2025 @DieAReader

These are the books I will be working on for #20For26 #NewYearsReadathon @Bookwormjillk

#DashingTruDecember Silver

I don't know too many kids who do not do this: walk in their mothers' or father's shoes. This girl, though, decided to hide the shoes her mother's uses to go to work because she is left behind at Nana, and she wants to be home with her mom. #ISpyBingoNov @TheAromaofBooks

Winter Winderland was sung first by Frank Sinatra. Love this version. #DashingThruDecember XMas Romance
@Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

I picked this book because of the bingo spots I needed for #ISpyBingoDec @TheAromaofBooks. A collection of 4 novellas. Of course, Kelly Armstrong got my attention. I bailed the second novella by Jeffe Kennedy, too confused to continue, but the 3rd by Melissa Mark I loved. The first book finished for #Welcome2026Readathon
#Read2025 @DieAReader

#InDeathLongReadalong Book 18 is Devided in Death. It's time for the next book in this series. We apologize for the short turnaround. Our first check-in will be on January 4. Let's start 2026 with Roarke and Eve. 5 chapters per week. @StayCurious @LitsyEvents

I have soooo many books I want to finish and start for this #Welcome2026Readathon 3 I'm working on, 4 I want to start. Let's see how I will do. Tag and join me @Liseworks @LitsyEvents
