Third in the newest bunch of Munsch. It's still not as intricate, but I'm not complaining. #20-2024

3 ⭐This book is cute, but at the same time I have problems with it. Andy is always hiding from his aunt who always wants a hug and a kiss. Until one day Andy‘s aunt doesn‘t come over. He realized at the end that he actually loves the Kiss Kiss hug hug. The problems are that now we are teaching kids to be more aware of personal space. ⬇

LibrarianRyan Andy should not have to hug and kiss someone just because they are family. It can be seen as forcing intimacy on a child. There are two schools of mind, and I am sure this would make for a great librarian debate, but it is one I would pass on reading to a group of kids at this time.

Good morning, everyone! The moment you have all been waiting for!! Our official #BookSpin number is NINETEEN!! Our official #DoubleSpin number is NINE!! Apparently there is a theme! 😂

I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at everyone's lists & am really looking forward to seeing your reviews!

My next post will be the #BookSpinBingo card!!!

Just a few quick housekeeping items that I would really appreciate if you would take a moment to read ⬇

TheAromaofBooks 1. Remember, this is a no-pressure challenge!! You can read one or both of these books. You can bail on them. You can bail on the whole challenge and try again next month. Whatever works!! This is supposed to be fun not stressful!! ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks 2. I am having a giveaway at the end of the year. Entries are reviews of #BookSpin/DoubleSpin books, but I will only know about them if you tag me, so please tag me whenever you read & review your book for the month. DNFs count! The goal for #BookSpin is to get a book off your TBR, so if you decide not to finish it, it's still off the list, so tag me & tell me why you bailed. ⬇ 3y
TheAromaofBooks 3. I will be making another post later (today? this week? this month? I'm staying vague 😂) with more details about the giveaway since we are actually almost at the end of the year already!!! What is happening?! 3y

TheAromaofBooks 4. I am tagging everyone who posted a list, so if you posted a list & you do not get tagged here, please let me know! It means I either accidentally missed your original #BookSpin post OR I wrote down your username wrong. Either way, I'm really sorry. Everyone is welcome to join this challenge, so if I missed you it was entirely by mistake - just let me know!! (edited) 3y

SteffK No. 9 works out great! It's my last Amazon lending book for the month ;) Just Around the Bend as for the other I will have to do an edit somehow to my list as I put a book in from a series out of order so my No. 19 will be Dream Lake, which is book 3 of the series, Crystal Cove is book 4. (heck maybe I can get double motivation and read both) lol (edited) 3y

rockpools Invisible Cities and The History of Bees 🐝! Invisible Cities was my (neglected) doublespin last month, and I finally get to tick off two more for Reading Europe. Thanks Sarah! 3y
Bookishlie Do you use the same bingo card until someone bingo‘s? Just curious. May do this next year:) 3y
robinb One I‘ve had FOREVER, The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, and the other is next in a favorite series, The Fateful Marriage. Thanks so much, Sarah! 😘 (edited) 3y

j9brown 19 is The Witches of New York and 9. is Magic Lessons. Definitely got a theme going here! 😂 3y
Singout Frying Plantain: a novel (or maybe short story collection) about a Jamaican Canadian girl growing up in Toronto. Great reviews. 3y
Coleen_Nieto I'm so excited!! I will post pictures of my #bookspin and #doublespin after work!!! 3y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick Oh my gosh! They're the two books I mentioned as my most anticipated reads during Winter Games: In a Holidaze and The House in the Cerulean Sea. After a lot of mediocre reads, maybe this is a sign the will be good. 3y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Bookishlie I'll try to answer your question. Each participant makes a list of 20 books. Sarah pulls two numbers, which become that month's #bookspin & #doublespin books. Some people just read those. Next she puts those two numbers back in the mix and pulls them out for their place on the bingo board. With 25 spaces, 21-25 can be free spaces for impulse reads or your initial list could be 25 books. No prize, just pride for BINGOs. 3y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @Bookishlie Since it's the beginning of the month, if you look at the #bookspin and #bookspinbingo tags, you'll see people posted their December list and might even have populated their list into a bingo board to see how people do it. I posted my lists and will be posting my boards in a few minutes. Some use same list each month & replace read books, others make new lists to satisfy goals & challenges. 3y
Gissy #BookSpin is Invierno en Las Vegas (Winter at Las Vegas) but I need to read one first in the stack because is is a sequel. #DoubleSpin is #Kissing Father Christmas. I will post them later. 3y
BookmarkTavern I don‘t think I got tagged this time around, but I‘m still so excited to do it! BookSpin is The Priory of the Orange tree and my DoubleSpin is The True Queen. Thank you so much for doing this amazing challenge!❤️❤️❤️ 3y
TheAromaofBooks @ozma.of.oz - Don't know how I missed you!! Sorry about that!! You're on the list now! 😁 3y
Andrew65 Thanks 😊👍 Murder for Christmas and One Hit Wonder. (edited) 3y
TheLudicReader I am excited about both the books belonging to these numbers Invisible Girl & American Dirt. 😀 (edited) 3y
LazyOwl Thanks for organising 😃 3y
Clare-Dragonfly OK. If I actually read Moby Dick I am following your lead and using it for ALL the free spaces 😂 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Clare-Dragonfly - It's the only way!!! I partially chose to use five spaces because the chapters divide up evenly that way. It really did help me feel like reading that chunkster wasn't a waste of reading time, if that makes sense haha 3y
marleed Thank you! BS=Christmas at Little Beach Street Bakery, DS=Pieces of Her 3y
LeticiaToraci I'll be hearing an Audiobook for #Bookspin and Ink & Bone for #DoubleSpin. 3y
claudiuo Thank you so much for posting the new numbers. My spins are Three Moments of an Explosion by China Miéville (tagged) and Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. 3y
Professional_Book_Dragon @TheAromaofBooks is it possible to added to your book spin for January? I would love to participate! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Professional_Book_Dragon - Absolutely!!! I usually tag everyone about a week before the 2nd to remind them to make their lists, so I'll put you on that list!!! 3y

I like the idea of this story. A seal is new to the zoo and to make friends goes around kissing all the animals with her stinky breath. While I like the idea, we are in the age of consent. And one animal grabbing another and forcing a kiss when it is not wanted is very NOT GOOD and not a lesson we should be teaching. I think this idea could be edited to give the same message, but also include consent.

Gissy Agree! 5y

4⭐️ There‘s a kiss on the cheek, a butterfly kiss, an eskimo kiss, and now a dinosaur kiss. I think a dinosaur kiss might hurt a little. Find out for yourself in this fun book for a read aloud or a bedtime story. Just wear a helmet.

mandapants I like how cute this picture is. 6y

Cute story and adorable illustrations. Great for kids who want monster books, but don't want to get too scared. This likable protagonist isn't scared of them at all - she just wants a good night's sleep!
