Does anyone use book catalogue apps to organize your library? Which do you think is the best one? Are there any that will link your Goodreads and Kindle books?

RaimeyGallant Library Thing owns Litsy, and a lot of people here use it. 1w
jpmcwisemorgan I‘d like to know this too. I can‘t seem to find a good way to do this. 1w
Patchshank @RaimeyGallant I tried library thing. I didn't really like it all that much and I couldn't get my Amazon books on to it. If I could get my Amazon books on it I'd tolerate it, but I'm just wondering if there's something better out there. 1w

RaimeyGallant Sorry, I wouldn't know... 1w
Patchshank @RaimeyGallant That's fine. It's just something I'm throwing out there. 1w
Skyrimir I like Libib, but I don‘t know about it connecting to anything. It‘s super easy to scan books into and you can make multiple libraries in the app as well. 1w
sprainedbrain I use LT, but really haven‘t found a better way to track my books than all of my extra shelves on Goodreads. 1w

The information in the book was interesting. Overall I enjoyed it. But I did find it a bit overrated. I didn't really enjoy the writing style. At times it was too detailed and uninteresting. I don't think it really did a good job intertwining Holmes and the world fair. It could have easily just been a book about the world fair and left Holmes out of it all together. But it still appealed to my interest in history and I learned a lot.

SamanthaMarie I just finished this as well haha! I too, found it to be a bit boring. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 3mo

I've been slowly reading this book. I decided to get the audio book on Libby to listen to it at work. It's just not doing it for me. I think the whole "what if" thing is over played to the point it's hard to make an interesting book or movie about it.

House of Leaves | Mark Z Danielewski
post image

https://youtu.be/VEsXbqUeJpQ

For any fans of The House of Leaves. Danielewski's sister is a singer and made an album inspired by her brother's book. Her stage name is Poe and the album is called Haunted. The link goes to the full album on YouTube.
From Wikipedia:
The self-produced album was created as a tribute to her father, and counterpart to her brother Mark Z. Danielewski's novel House of Leaves.

ErickaS_Flyleafunfurled Oh cool! I love that book - will check it out 4mo

I found this app awhile back. I use it at work every so often. It's all public domain or indie books submitted by the authors. With this app you earn points for listening to or reading the books. The points can go toward prizes or charities. I don't find the prizes do really be worth it. They're priced too high in my opinion, but I do give to the charities.

I was going to try and finish this book, but I just can't. The writing style is so bland. Interesting things are happening, but the writing style makes me not give a flying truck about any of it. It was just boring me.
We all know that one person who just talks to hear themselves talk and you're spaced out the whole time just nodding every so often. This book made me feel like I was talking to that person.

Finished the audiobook while I was at work. It just goes into detail on things we already know about. It didn't offer anything too insightful. It did manage to depress me though.
I don't think it matters how much you like Trump or how bad of a job you think anyone else would have done the blatant incompetence of this man can't be ignored. The book points out just how much people in his own circle see it and do little to hide it.

I do like the images in the book, but the over all story is cliched and uninteresting. It didn't really suck me at all or leave me wondering. The book ends on bit of a cliffhanger, but the build up to it was kind of meh. I did really enjoy the artwork of the book though.

Patchshank @tournevis No. I got mine on sale as an ebook. I bet the window cling is pretty though. I really liked their art. 4mo
tournevis @Patchshank The fact you got it as an ebook may be a factor here, because the book is meant to be a facsimile and it feels different in hard copy. Much more immersive. Also, cling. 4mo

Patchshank @tournevis I don't think it would have done much to improve the story itself. But you could be right. This could be one of those many times actual books prove to be better than ebooks. 4mo

It's about a guy who got into and accident that caused him severe brain damage that completely altered his personality. To cope with it he writes to serial killers in prison. I'm only about half way through the book.
