Slump | Dave Jarzyna
post image

So my classic sign of a reading slump is that I start numerous books, but can‘t finish any, and I dive into book reviews, blogs, videos without actually reading! This almost never happens in the new year but the signs are undeniable!! Do you all have any recommendations??? How do I stop this before it turns into a full on reading slump???

nudibranch A short, fun/fascinating book is how I get out of a slump. The emotional reward from quickly finishing it boosts my confidence, and usually whets my appetite. Good luck!! 6mo
Jas16 I usually reread an old favorite. I hope you manage to avoid the slump! 6mo
Suet624 Ugh. My sympathies. No advice but just know it will pass eventually. 6mo
janeycanuck I start in on all the odd jobs that need to get done but I‘ve been putting off cause I don‘t wanna do them. That usually gets me wanting to read again pretty quick! If you need some tasks, I‘ve got about 15 windows that need to be rescreened! 6mo

I read The Great Gatsby for the first time last year and I was surprised that I absolutely loved it! I recommend the audiobook read by Jake Gyllenhaal! Now I‘m watched the movie to celebrate the new year!!

RadicalReader @EllieDottie I remember reading The Great Gatsby in HS remarkable how much I enjoyed each and every assigned book to be read in HS 6mo
EllieDottie @RadicalReader so one of my guilty confessions is that I skipped this when it was assigned in high school and just read a summary! But I am so glad that I picked it back up!! 6mo
