This is another of Reese Witherspoon ‘s book club picks - bought it at the annual Raise/A-Reader Booksale . An older woman wins a cruise with her estranged adult children. Of course everyone is unhappy, angst , secrets , alcoholism, depression etc . Pretty much all the family drama in a so-so package. I have a few days off so Breakfast at Starbucks, lunch at the Dutch Bakery and supper from the Italian Market Deli

So I‘m reading this ebook on Libby , I just started it and the reader is being introduced to the “reality “ of the Instagram Influencer. So the Instagram Mom is organizing a gigantic event- her daughter Coco‘s fourth birthday 🎂- meanwhile I‘m taking a break scrolling through Instagram - and there‘s a post about a real life Coco‘s fourth birthday party. Coincidence? Or is Coco a more common name than I thought?

CSeydel Whoa 3w
Dragon Thanks 🙏 @CSeydel it was such a weird coincidence 3w
LiteraryinLawrence Weird!! At least in my region that‘s not a common name at all. 3w

The Club | Ellery Lloyd

Just tore through this thriller- it‘s got all kinds of trashy characters who belong to a very exclusive club with “Home” sites in major cities. The Club is opening a new venue on it‘s own island - the elite are going to party and the desperate are going to react. I couldn‘t put it down - I had to know what happened 👍👍💚🐉

fv.reads I removed this book from my TBR, should I put it back? 3w
Dragon Thanks @fv.reads this book seems to be a bit controversial- half like it and half don‘t- I enjoyed the fast pace , awful rich people and the bit of mystery - so it really hit the escapism button for me - I was in the right mood 💚🐉 3w

I quite enjoyed this second book in the series- our three amateur detectives are investigating a locked room mystery in the English town of Marlow. I figured out the mystery pretty early on but still wanted to read on. This was a 7 day fast read so I had to really focus on it. I would say this is between a pick and a so-so 💚🐉

Enjoyed the audiobook of Knock Out much more than I expected. I didn‘t really like the first book in the series. This is the third - I think I missed the second. But I absolutely love the reader so I had to immediately listen to another audiobook that she reads. Both books are a lower pick for story line etc …💚🐉

Pamela Anderson is really good at narrating her memoir - I found her surprisingly relatable- I grew up in small town British Columbia -and I remember all the excitement of her rise to fame - being picked out at the football game etc … she seems to have done a lot of work /reading/thought to reach a really good space. Her boys seem grounded and supportive. Very glad I spent the time listening to her story 💚🐉

CoverToCoverGirl I‘m jumping into this one tomorrow! 1mo

Just finished listening to this audio book- I really enjoy narrator Susan Duerden ‘s audio performances. She really adds to my enjoyment . This is the second installment in @EloisaJames new series Would-Be Wallflowers. Not a lot happens in the book but it is a nice romance with an interesting note at the end about the author‘s middle school experience. I do love a ducal romance 💚🐉

I read this book slowly over many lunch breaks at work. A Reese‘s Book Club pick. It‘s a pretty familiar story one sister moves to the big city the other stays in the small town. Big city returns , rivalries and immature behaviour occur egged on by the producer of a reality show. I quite liked it - in between a pick and a so-so - 👍💚🐉

Basically spent my entire Saturday reading this book - couldn‘t put it down. A librarian takes part in a real life beta test of a private/government computer program called Fusion that invades privacy and stalks “ wrong doers”. What could go wrong? Lots of course. The author is a screen writer so it‘s fast paced and entertaining 👍👍💚🐉

Just finished this cozy mystery yesterday- Margery and Clementine are in their early sixties working in the kitchen at the local high school . Nothing much has happened in the last twenty years until their boss ends up dead in suspicious circumstances. And the Di nner Lady Detectives 🕵️‍♂️ have their first case. I really wanted to enjoy this a bit more. It was pretty good but not great. I would read future books in the series 🐉💚

Went to a really fun Q&A with Carley Fortune at Bolen Books last night. It was interesting to hear that she grew up in the small Ontario community she writes about. She also talked about her process. So far she‘s doing only stand alone romances. She used to be an editor for Refinery 29 until she decided to write a novel. I haven‘t read her books but I‘ve got a hold on her first book - it will be awhile 📚💚🐉

Just finished this really well done audiobook. This was like listening to a play with various voices. Carrie Soto is a top athlete - she‘s driven and focused - she‘s not “nice” . But she‘s so interesting and this is such a good father/daughter relationship novel. I would recommend it for other people who are missing their father figures heading into June. I may have cried. 👍👍💚🐉 - thanks @melissajayne for the Victoria Day Weekend Marathon

Dragon Oh forgot to mention that I know nothing about tennis 🎾 and despite a tutorial on how scoring works- given by a young Carrie Soto - I couldn‘t really follow the games. Doesn‘t matter still thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook 🩷💚👍🎾🐉 4mo

I listened to this novella ( it‘s 4 hours) on Libby. It‘s a so/so sci-fi detective f/f romance story. It takes place on a gas giant that‘s been colonized by Earth‘s survivors. The action occurs on platforms built on rings circling above the planet a free train service takes our detective and her ex on their mission to find a missing scholar. An interesting world but not so interesting dialogue and mystery. It‘s okay.
