I‘m a sucker for a time travel story, especially a thriller type. Beth is a single working mom. Her husband Colson has died in an accident and she has taken on his role as Guinea pig 🐹 in a series of time travel experiments that take her consciousness back to the most traumatic moments in her life. Of course there‘s trouble brewing with the super rich older man who is financing the experiments. Does Beth really understand the consequences? 👍🐉

I had some feelings about whether to finish or not. I live on the Cascadia fault line and the Big One is a worry. Anna is on her first day of mat leave looking for a crib in IKEA. Portland experiences a catastrophic earthquake , Anna survives , and decides to head out on foot to find her husband, Dom. While walking Anna carries on an internal monologue with her unborn child,Bean. I enjoyed the story but the ending was dissatisfying - 👍❤️🐉

Reggie I agree I wanted some hard answers as to who survived. I‘m glad that her and the IKEA worker looked out for each other despite their first interaction. But let me tell you how many times I drive past an elementary school and think of that mom. Great review! 7d

This book is bringing on all my doomsday anxiety. A pregnant woman is on a quest across the devastated remains of Portland. The big one has hit and she is trying to find her husband. I‘m at a pretty tense spot and I‘m not sure if I can continue with it. The pandemic has put me off dystopian books. I used to love that genre ever since I read The Stand as a teenager. Anyone else changed what type of books they read? ❤️😂

tpixie I only read the hunger games and divergent. Good luck on your choice to continue or not. Beautiful cover though. (edited) 1w

This audiobook lives up to all the hype. After weeks on hold I finally got it on my Libby App. What happens when a suicidal English professor meets a possible Bridezilla in the elevator of a swanky hotel? You have to read this funny novel - I was listening in my car and snorted my soda out while laughing too hard. There‘s some serious stuff mixed in with the fun. I want to know what‘s happening to all these people now 😹👍👍🐉❤️

I have spent the last couple of weeks listening to celebrity autobiographies. We Were Dreamers by Simu Liu and Cher‘s Part One. Both authors had parents who survived difficult childhood experiences. I enjoyed listening to their family histories and the terrible struggles to overcome poverty. One family in China the other in the United States but both authors ending up in Hollywood. Cher is an icon and she seems to know everyone 👍👍. Simu 👍👍

This is a very sweet novel set in a small New England town. It‘s kind of a Mayberry setting, people are so community minded and so friendly. Nora runs the diner she inherited from her parents and at 42 is unsurprisingly unhappy with her life. This was my lunch read at work for the last few months. I only get to read for about 15-20 minutes. This book is one of those books within a book novels and is unashamedly influenced by the novel Rebecca. In fact that‘s a big plot point. I didn‘t really like the main character and it really wasn‘t that much of a thriller. It was okay as a lunch read but I wouldn‘t recommend it to friends. So-so at best
