Today I‘m posting the optional part of the #WinterReadathon, which is the Bingo. Above is the bingo card & the aim is to try to find those words in your reading during the Readathon.

One of the aims is to cover the whole board, or individual lines but we‘ve also got some separate weekly challenges too.

These are detailed below starting each week with a blank bingo card, remember this is optional but helps generate some fun in the reading.👇

Andrew65 1st - 7th Dec : Four Corner words covered
8th- 14th Dec : Top, middle and Bottom Horizontal Line
15th - 21st Dec : Outer Edge (Frame)
21st - 28th Dec : First, third and fifth Vertical Line
28th - 5th Kiss (x shape, 2 diagonal lines going from corners)

These will be on top of trying to get a full House.

Andrew65 For anyone who wants it we are putting in a non-competitive point scoring system. More details of the points you can win will follow, including for bingos in #BookSpin for example.

For the Bingo :

If you complete any of the weekly bingo challenges you can earn 100 pts for each one;

For completing a full house over the whole Readathon (all words covered) you can earn 250 pts.

Andrew65 There is also a word search option too and you can earn 5pts for every time you find any of the words in your reading. So for example if you find the word December in your reading 30 times that would earn you 150 points.

Hope all this is clear but please ask if any clarification is needed on any points, there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Andrew65 @MaGoose That‘s fine it‘s just an optional extra for anyone who wants to join in. Also fine for others to join even if they don‘t want to take part in the Readathon. 😍 (edited) 1y

kspenmoll What is the difference between corner words & outer edge frame? 1y
Andrew65 @kspenmoll Corner words would be the 4 words Santa, Party, Decoration, and stocking. The outer edge frame would be all 16 words around the edge (frame) like the frame of a puzzle, e.g from Santa going round clockwise all the words up to and including lights. 1y
JacqMac This is such a great idea! 1y
Andrew65 @JacqMac Seems to have gone down well, which is good. (edited) 1y
