pickWith a setting in 1972, this novel is beyond brilliant❣️Emma wakes up one morning in her Cornwall home to no phone service, no electricity, and American fighter planes are in the harbor to implement a melding of US and UK: USUK! Reminiscent of Nazi rule, the homeowners resist—great story/characters! I think du Maurier was a proponent of liberty, small government, & 1st amendment. #bookspinbingo #AAM2021
pickThis really is HF—17th century English Civil War. Not my favorite duMaurier by far. Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel have, as a whole, more engaging storylines. The writing is beautiful, but the novel seemed long and dragged for me in the middle.

pickPosting my first few reviews for #AAM2021 @Soubhiville and for #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks This was a rather short audio production of this story but entertaining. I knew what to expect bc I‘ve seen the Hitchcock film several times.
