Last book of 2022. Started and finished on New Year's Eve! It's been a long time since I've been able to read a whole book in one day. I needed that break.

Hope everyone had a great New Years and here's to a wonderful 2023! 🎉

A cute novella following The Love Hypothesis, I think. I cute little story of hate to love by the heroine. I love the STEM aspects of these stories, though they all seem a bit similar.

Playing catch up...
This is a rich-women, drama-filled, thriller, that leaves you guessing on who died, and who the killer is, until the very end. Everyone is a suspect. I just couldn't put it down. And a very good twist at the very end!

First book finished in July! Loved this one, hard to put down. A true crime podcast about a serial killer from the 1990s named the Countdown Killer because of his fixation on numbers with his victims. Now, 20 years later, Elle is doing a podcast on this case because some believe he died in a fire but others believe he is still out there. When a girl is kidnapped, could it be the Countdown Killer or a copycat? I couldn't put this one down.

Enjoyed this one overall but in the beginning I did think we were thrown into the world without given much info about the magic system. Kinda learned as you went. There was a lot of action and it did wrap up nicely in the end, though there is a second book in this duology, I don't know if it needs one. I think I liked the audio but not sure I would have liked reading it. Between a pick and a so-so.

A very YA summer read but a good one anyway. About to be adapted to one of the streaming services. It was a very quick and short book, the first of a trilogy. And we did get the story in the current timely e as well as past summers, but I found the past timelines being jumbled up not my favorite. It was a little too YA for me but I still enjoyed some moments.

Loved this one! We get current day where Percy gets a call to come back to her summer vacation town where she comes face to face with Sam again, the love of her life she hasn't seen in 12 years. Then we also get the back story of her summers growing up at the lake next door to Charlie and Sam. It was a wonderful story. I definitely recommend it for a summer read.

Another cute rom com with a good representation for mental health. This revolves around a Bachelor like show where Charlie goes on, not to meet women and get married like the show calls for, but to get back into his tech world. His handler on the show Dev believes in the shows Happily Ever After story. What happens when these two develop feelings for each other? We also get good rep for Charlie who has OCD and anxiety, and Dev who has depression.

Finished this audio last Wednesday. It was so creepy but in a good way, not too scary. It's like a myatery/thriller/detective/paranormal/occult/psychological story. The ending was completely shocking to me! Five friends in Scotland go camping for a weekend. But one by one they disappear and Heather thinks it has to do with this broach they took from cairn. Then, she is the only one left and ends up in custody. Will anyone believe her story?

Finished this last Monday. It was a great book and had great representation on mental health. Ari is a tv meteorologist and Russell is a sports reporter. They team up to try to get their bosses back together because the friction at work those two cause is making everyone miserable. But in the meantime, Ari and Russell start having feeling for each other. But Ari also hides a part of herself from everyone. It was a great story.

Also finished this one on my Kindle. It was an enjoyable, fun read set in Alaska. A crew from L.A. come up to film a documentary of Moose Springs, but the residents want nothing to do with the filming. However, River is not to be deterred. Enter Easton, who winds up roped into all kinds of "help" for the crew, including taking them up Mount Veil,

Recently finished this audio. While I enjoyed the mystery and didn't see part of the ending coming, I was a little annoyed at the main character, the mom. Because some of what she did just didn't seem realistic. Like, as an adult, as a mom, she should know better than to do some of the things she did. But they had to happen for the book to move forward. And it did keep me guessing for awhile at who we could trust as the reader.

There has never been a Jill Shalvis book I haven't loved. They are all comfort books for me. Jane and Levi have never met but end up stranded together on a gondola during a horrible snowstorm. Faced with the possibility of dying, Levi calls his mom to say goodbye but can't do it so instead tells her the one thing that will make her happy - that yes, he finally has a girlfriend. When they make it out alive, Jane agrees to be his fake girlfriend...

This one felt like a slow story but did keep my interest enough to finish it. I didn't see the biggest twist at the end coming but did see one twist about Pastoral. I would call it more a commute than a cult many call it, but maybe it's just me. At least in the beginning. It wasn't the best book and wasn't a favorite like it was for others I've heard online. But wasn't too bad. Between a pick and a so-so.

I just wanted to mention here, since many of you have become good friends, that I lost my grandmother just over a week ago. She was in her 90s and l8ved a wonderful life. Lucas, a college student, decides to base his capstone project on a podcast he starts, which he creates of a three year old disappearance and murder of a sorority girl at his college. What happened to her while she was missing a week before she was murdered? Who murdered her?
