This was such a fun romp! A sweet romance, a little bit of mystery and a good read for pet lovers! Opposites attract and the grumpy/sunshine tropes are always fun for me, and Bitsy and Michael are exactly that. This was a cute romcom to kick off my 2024 reading!
pickAs I began reading, I was immediately immersed into Laura‘s world and imagined myself as her friend. She loved animals and lived close to a zoo. How fun would that be? She also loved words…in poems, books and letters. This book was filled with sweet, satisfying romance and excellent, immersive storytelling. Well done!
so-soLike most romance anthologies I‘ve read, this is a really mixed bag. Most of these are very chaste or have just an odd spicy moment that stands out like a sore thumb. Kerrigan Byrne‘s ghost story had heat, but I found the plot ridiculous and uncomfortable. I didn‘t love any of these, and I was bored to tears by Caldwell‘s tale, but fans of these authors and/or closed door historicals may enjoy this.

pickVivienne Lorret is a happy discovery for me. Even though this is only my 2nd book from her (and the start of a new series), she‘s proving herself to be one to watch. Verity Hartley (at 26) has accepted her fate as a spinster. She is outshone by her flamboyant theatrical family including her two beautiful younger sisters. When a revenge lie lands her in hot water, she and the staid (family enemy) Duke of Longhurst must pretend a betrothal for a 🔻
pickI enjoyed this, my second from Lorraine Heath. I enjoyed the setting, characters, and the independent heroine and resilient hero. The ways they took care of each other and placed the other‘s wishes above their own-so lovely. #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
