A classic Jeeves story, this was very humorous and fun. However, I recall the Jeeves and Wooster TV adaptation with Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry being even funnier!

Bertie takes up the banjolele which necessitates a move to a country cottage and prompts Jeeves to tender his resignation. The usual tangled web ensues, this one involving Pauline Stoker and irascible father, Sir Roderick Glossop and a homicidal valet. Great fun.
This was an entertaining listen for my day at home. It took a bit for me to get into the story, but I laughed several times in the later part as Jeeves made sure everything fell into place. It‘s my first Wodehouse, but I‘ll definitely be interested in more of the series. However, the story has not aged particularly well with blackface being a major part of the comedy.

My first Jeeves book & this was really funny hahah; Bertie is hilarious and I love how Jeeves is so smooth and always managing to save the day😂 This was light and fun and I'll definitely be reading more in the series
(Obviously the racism wasn't at all great, however, so that was one down side)
#BFC2022 @wanderinglynn / Jan review and Feb goals!

- I did most of the Action For Happiness calendar! Feb goal: Most of the cal again!
- I read 2 books!! Feb goal: Minimum 2, ideally 3!😊
One can never go wrong with P.G. Wodehouse! Once again I read this via audiobook and this was another dramatization. It was hilarious! The casting was great and the story flowed very well. As usual, the story is chaotic and simple, and only Jeeves can make it right. Fun for everyone. 3.5 out of 5.
Thank you so much for the incredible #StuffedStockingSwap package @TorieStorieS! So many wonderful goodies, decorations, and of course, books! The adorable stocking will be hung from the bookshelf with care, and the beautiful Santa ornament is already on the tree! And your bookmarks are adorable! Thank you thank you thank you!
And thank you @Avanders for organizing another great swap!
Not gonna lie, I‘m hiding in here. And now really craving a good English breakfast. Jeeves?
Hugh Laurie‘s description of his teenage self before finding the books of P.G. Wodehouse.
(from his introduction to the #FolioSociety edition of Thank You, Jeeves).
I‘m starting my very first P.G. Wodehouse (and Hugh Laurie wrote the introduction). 💕

These are my #1001books choices for the #1001bookswap. Voting is in process...
I think I will start with a library copy of the final choice, while waiting for my copy to arrive from TBD.
It takes just about forever for our TBD orders to reach us.

So I broke down and ordered the Gryffindor house Philosopher's Stone and got a couple of Wodehouse while I was at it. Ms. Marvel was an Amazon pre-order. Now I really want the other houses but do I really need three more copies of the same book?
Oh wow, look what just happened! What a funny number. Thanks to all you awesome Littens!! I ❤️ this place! 😊😍
One year ago today I signed up on Litsy and while I had high expectations for this app, they were nothing compared to what I found here. Litsy has become a very special place with new friends who just 'get me'. Thank you all for making this community what it is. ❤️❤️❤️
Just a wee bit of Wooster and Jeeves, before I go back inside for some housework.
You guys! It's library Book Sale Day, a.k.a. the Best Day.
Yay for nice round numbers! Thanks to all of the Litsy developers, staff, and all of the littens for such a wonderful community.
Look what happened tonight. 😍 Thank you so much for your support 😍
I managed to capture this funny number in a screenshot. Thank you so much, Littens, I love this place! 😘
So while I wasn't looking for a couple of hours this happened. 😳❤❤❤ Thank you so much, Littens!!! You are amazing and I'm so glad I found this place back in June. You guys just get me and I'm grateful to be part of such a loving community. 😊😍
Shout out and many, many thanks to @BookishMarginalia for putting together #cupidgoespostal!!!
Bertie fires Jeeves so he can continue to play the banjolele, and typical antics ensue. But the plot involves Wooster in blackface and a troupe of minstrels that are referred to using a racial slur. shows the casual racism that existed and was so much part of the plot the rest of the book lost its charm for me. If you're new to Jeeves don't start with this one. I still love Jeeves and will be continuing my #yearofjeeves in honor of my dad.
So this happened. Whoaa! Thank you so much, Littens! I'm so glad I found this place. 😍
And I promise this is my last 'oh, look at this' post for today. 😂 I just noticed this landmark in my litfluence. Thank you so much, Littens!!! I love you guys!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
After three hours of OT, I see this. Way to make my day #littens ! It's not about the number, I'm just so thrilled about this community.
