There‘s a cycle, there‘s the train but I‘m waiting for the bus. 🚌
New job, crazy schedule, and absolutely no time to breathe.
The good thing is that the two hour travel time gets a lot of reading done. 📚🚌
I‘m loving my #currentread
I have missed you, Litsy♥️
I love these hashtags even though my TBR is groaning under the weight of these great recommendations. My favourites include a variety of genres, and two of those are #blameitonlitsy reads. Thanks for the tag @batsy and great idea @Cinfhen
May had been a difficult month. I decided to give myself some TLC for June. I started a mental health journal, worked on a few self-care tips, wrote down notes on how to deal with anxiety and stress. So far, I have dealt with June #likeaboss 😎
Never thought I would need a self-help book but #neversaynever
Eating that is probably not a good idea at 1am but I have had a crappy day, and I can‘t sleep, so...
Also, this book is reminding me of how much I used to love Greek literature. I hope to reread The Iliad someday. #currentread
I just finished reading Cop Town and the whole police vibe has got into me, prompting me to start watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The Commanding Officer in the show talks about the PD in the 1970s and how racist, sexist, and violent it was- exactly the things I read in Slaughter‘s book. The CO from the show would have faced death in the book (by fellow officers) because he was openly gay.
I really liked the book and I‘m loving the show. Pick!
‘Agatha Christie meets Downtown Abbey meets Groundhog Day.‘ 😃
Let‘s delve in!
♥️The first three are my absolute favourites!
🌊An Ocean of Minutes by Thea Lim
📚Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy- a chunkster that graces my shelf.
1. Purple Hibiscus by Adiche💜
2. Crazy Rich Asians. 🤷🏻♀️ #unpopularopinion
3. The tagged book, I guess.
4. Read more books than last year. Also, re-read an old favourite.
Yet to re-read.
5. @sudi @PathfinderNicole @JacqMac @mabell
My #currentreads feel #hotandheavy , and I‘m close to bailing on The Milkman. I like the narration, theme... but it feels like a chore. 🤯😓
Coincidentally, both these books are set in the 1970s.
The Milkman-supposedly Northern Ireland
Cop Town- Atlanta
A few books that are #biginjapan
🌸PICK- Convenience Store Woman
🌸So-So- Norwegian Wood
🌸BAIL-Memoirs of a Geisha
🌸TBR- The Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoet by David Mitchell
🌸The Makioka Sisters by Jun‘ichirō Tanizaki
YA? Y Not!
The protagonist of both my current reads (the tagged book and the one in the pic) is an 18 yo American teenager. One is a duchess and the other is a drummer. 🥁👑
Also, happy 4th wedding anniversary to me! 🎉
2. Anecdotes from Dad is Fat by Jim Gaffigan. Made me laugh.
3. Finish a book, start a new one.
4. Partly cloudy.
5. Pineapple pachadi (pineapple in coconut-yogurt curry)🍍
A few examples from my husband‘s bizarre, shocking yet fascinating #currentread about medical misfires and malpractices.
Morphine for crying babies, Arsenic to cure fatigue, Tobacco for lung diseases, drilling a hole in the head to cure insanity!
Surely a #highwaytohell for the patients.
I‘m thinking about the summer in Delhi (45 C)🤯
🍍Kerala- mountains and beach. 😎
🍍Popsicles, and Mangoes. Summer isn‘t summer without mangoes.
🍍Reading, snacking, soaking up the sun(or the AC)
🍍Lemonade with Limca, mint, and lots of ice.
🍍A sunlit room
Thanks for reminding me of the scorching Delhi summers. I don‘t miss that. 😘💃🏻 @CouronneDhiver
🌻 Contemporary fiction. It keeps changing though.
🌻 It‘s been a while since I read a good biography. Also, true crime.
🌻 Sci-fi 📺
🌻 One Day in December by Josie Silver. (Romance)
🌻The Calcutta Chromosome by Amitav Ghosh. (Thriller) 😑
🌻 @PickwickPlockPlock @Erofan @Beatlefan129 #bookishquestions
Just when I thought the book was boring came the much needed twist. I read somewhere that Cate Blanchett was the main lead in the movie version, and now I can only imagine her as Bernadette. She fits the #ShesSoCold role perfectly.
A recently came across this book when @Blaire posted about it. I decided that I needed to #laugh a little after a #harddaysnight preparing for a festival. The audio IS funny. 😁

Today‘s prompt is #siblings, and it happens to be my brother‘s birthday. He‘s not much of a reader but he introduced me to the world of Harry Potter(books, not the movie series). 💫⚡️
He totally gets my love for books. The tagged book was a gift from him. 💙
He has aptly titled that pic ‘Foie Gras‘. (1995) 😁
I miss him so much! 💕
1. The 90s was fun.
2. Physical and e-books. Till last year I used to balk at the idea on reading on my phone. Now I find it very convenient.
4. I live 8000 miles away from where I was born. Ha!
5. On it. 💕💕
