Just like Vicious, this is turning out to be way better than I expected. It‘s more ambitious than Vicious but does not disappoint. I find myself rooting for Addie. 💙

Coffee and manga on this cloudy, placid day. I highly recommend these two volumes. So heartwarming 🥰🌈

Pouring rain and gusty wind calls for a horror read. I‘m glad I took a quick trip to the library yesterday and got this book. Excited to see what secrets could an abandoned mansion be hiding? 💨🌧
I was planning to give it a ‘so-so‘ but I really liked the MC and the living-dead people in it. So it‘s a soft Pick from me.

Verity kept me on edge, oscillating between suspense and horror. I had a few issues with the plot but overall a good palate cleanser. It‘s a one-sitting read and begging to be made into a movie. 📖 🎥
It took over a month for my slump to get over, and I just read one book in May. My #currentread is helping me get my groove back. This is a #blameitonlitsy read and I‘m enjoying it so far. Happy Weekend!

I‘m not on Insta but I appreciate it when my friends share posts that they know I‘ll love. For my fellow Littens. 💕
Despite other challenges and a reading slump I‘m grateful for the summer. It just feel so good to be outside. 🌞🌳🌞
Long weekend calls for a decadent Argentinian tart and this ‘winter‘ book. I had set this book aside for winter months but I was in the mood for some adventure. Glad I gave in because I‘m thoroughly enjoying it. ❄️🌊❄️ #currentlyreading
Finally some delicious sunshine in the Prairies, and a perfect time to read this book set in #Finland.
That‘s Grandmother and Sophia. 💙☀️💙

A novel in verse actually feels quite good right now. I would have preferred the audio but the waiting was too long.

Five pages into it and the writing already feels like I‘m settling into a really comfortable armchair. Plus, the tea is so soothing 💛

Such gorgeous illustrations!
The recipe makes me want to bite into a juicy heirloom tomato. This book has tomato fun facts, note on the importance of honouring the food we eat and the people who help bring it to us, the farmworkers. I‘m going to buy a copy for myself. 😊🍅
I‘m willing the snow to melt while I enjoy this classic murder mystery. Yet another cozy Saturday with tea, and a blanket. Where art thou, Spring? 🌿❄️

I picked up this manga publication to get over my reading slump. It‘s like a breath of fresh air. Thank you for suggesting that I try a graphic novel, Jessie. 💕

Slumps on a weekend are the worst! I am in an ‘everything but sleep‘ slump. 🙁😵💫

March is going to be a slow reading month for me. I might not be able to read more than one book soooo what better than a long family chronicle to be read at a leisurely pace. 🧡

I call these my commercial books. I read them in between my current reads. I pick a random page, ogle at the illustrations and savour the words.
All of them are wonderful, and perfect to gift to book lovers. Gorgeous, too! 💝💙
I‘m especially enjoying the tagged book which brings back fond memories.
I can see that the book is quite popular. My friend wanted to do a buddy-read so I‘ll be hobnobbing with Eleanor for a while.
I‘m already cracking up at the bits where she whispers ‘I know where you live‘ to tele-marketeers, and the use of kitchen scales. 😁

His side. Her side. ♥️🖤
I like how the book covers are complementing each other. I‘ll be borrowing Bad Blood from my husband later. I‘m intrigued by the scandal.

This book has been on my TBR for so long and I am glad that I finally got to read this book-within-a-book murder mystery.

Still with the Arctic terns 🌊🪶😄
It‘s been a while since I have read something so raw, so intense that it breaks you into two people. One who drifts away to wander, crawl, swim and sway beside Franny Stone, and the other who stays put in present life wondering how long do I have before the birdsong is heard no more. 🪶🌊
I can‘t start another book today. I just cannot. 🥺
‘Propelled by a narrator as fierce and fragile as the terms she is following, Migrations is both an ode to our threatened world and a breathtaking page-turner about the lengths we go for the people we love.‘
I‘m feeling the same enthusiasm for this book as I felt for Drive Your Plow Over The Bones of the Dead. 💙

Top book of the month: In The Time Of Butterflies by Julia Alvarez
Least favourite book: Anxious People by Fredrik Backman
I loved the limited series on Netflix so much that I had to read the book. However, I feel that I would have liked the book a little less had I read it before watching the series.

Hey Lauralee 🤗
Thank you for the lovely #LittleChristmasSwap package! I am looking forward to reading this book next month. And I have already devoured a few chocolate cherries. They are like Black Forest cake (my favourite) in candy form.
Thank you @bookish_wookish for organising this fun swap. 💕
This was one of the first books recommended to me on Litsy. Keeper‘n Me by Richard Wagamese was one of my favourite books last year, and I have been wanting to read more books by indigenous authors.

I had only heard of Rosemary‘s Baby by Ira Levin until I stumbled upon the #StepfordSummerParty. Here I am, four years late. Nevertheless, I plan to read the discussion thread after I‘m done reading.
The cover is giving me the creeps. 👁👁

Whoa! I did not expect what just happened on page 19 😳😳
Very interesting! Good thing I didn‘t look at the blurb before starting the book. I didn‘t expect the book to be so short either.

This book would be perfect for a buddy-read or a book club. What I love is how seamlessly the author narrates each sister‘s story. Even the minor characters have memorable cameos. Also, I felt that there was a streak of indulgence for the bad guys.
This is one of those books that says so much in just one sentence. An example: Until the nail is hit, it doesn‘t believe in the hammer. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
50 pages in, and I got goosebumps. Quite a book to start 2022 with. Happy New Year, lovely people! 💖

This is my #Top21of21. I‘m not too pumped up about my list after 15 but the top 6 have all my heart. 💜
Looking back, I am disappointed that there wasn‘t a lot of armchair travel but I‘m happy that I read more books than last year.
I will be squeezing in another book or two. Making this list is always fun. Thank you for tagging me @batsy @Ruthiella
From talking to hats to invisibility cloaks…to the land of Ingary before I hit the bed. ✨

Sometimes it takes about a 100 pages for a book to sink in and sometimes all you need is the first sentence to know that the book is going to be a delight.
What a whimsical cover, too! 💜

A very happy birthday to you, Sarah 🎉🎂🎉📚🤗 @TheAromaofBooks
I started at midnight but decided to post this with a #BirthdayBash breakfast. I love how we are celebrating your birthday from different parts of the world. 🥐🍳
I chose your birthday to start a new book, my #halloweenread. This is my second by the author and it is set in the UK.
