1. I watch more drama and suspense, and more TV shows than movies. I'll go with A Christmas Story.
2. Death Comes To Pemberley (I know it's technically a miniseries.)
3. Peace, health, and contentment for all.

Don't mind me. (It's Laura or L.) I'm just popping up to say hello! How has everyone been doing? I'm ok. Fatigue has been a thing but I'm taking each day one step at a time. I've been loving reading on my Kindle. I hope everyone is having a good day! ☺️

🍁1. My husband and I like to spend the day quietly at home with whatever foods we like. One year was the traditional turkey. Another year was homemade tacos. This year is meatloaf.
🍁2. Stuffing/Dressing! I love that yummy carb goodness.

Did you know Mr. Darcy is a magician? And Elizabeth Bennet secretly uses magic to aid those in need? Most importantly, using magic in this world is forbidden for women and if caught their magic is bound. Together they discover a power struggle between corrupt magicians and the world of Faerie. There is so much going on in this book! I enjoyed this fantasy- twisted take on Jane Austen's classic. The audio was well done.
I listened to and loved the tagged book Sorcery and Cecelia which is the story of two cousins during a Regency era full of magic told in an epistolary style. It‘s a lot of fun and now a comforting listen for me.

1. Alternate History! I love history but I always think “what if?”
2. I tagged Rebel Mechanics which is a YA story exploring the American Revolution happening 100 years later and involving magic. Of course there is also the Thursday Next series by Jasper Fforde which is absolutely excellent.

This was a fluffy Regency romance about a naive spinster and protective rogue trying to catch a traitor to the Crown. Despite the numerous typos and lack of editing, I did still enjoy the story.

I am quietly me. I‘m comfortable with who I am and don‘t need to shout about it to everyone. Some people mistake “quiet” for passive but that‘s not the case. I listen and then I speak/act when I deem it appropriate. Some people think I‘m boring because I choose to talk less and listen more. Those people will never know how unique I am. 💚
#LittensWantToKnow @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
1. I read for the escape and entertainment it provides as well as the information I can learn along the way.
2. No one I knew read when I was a kid nor was I read to. I struggled learning to read and was made fun of but once I got it I liked reading so much I didn‘t let anything stop me.
3. Whenever I can. Anxiety can be a real block to concentration.

Out the fifth story-window, or not at all. It was her only chance to sneak out unnoticed.

1. Only as far as books on bookshelves.
2. Anxiety/Depression are the big culprits. Stress and sadness over so many things.
#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView
1. At Bertram‘s Hotel had an aesthetically pleasing cover but was a bit vague to the story.
2. Only bad covers deter me from reading books. Plot is far more important to me. Covers can be the icing on the cake.

Another excellent mystery featuring Miss Marple! I especially love the audiobooks narrated by Stephanie Cole. I find her voice very soothing when discussing murder. 🙃

This middle grade mystery was a lot of fun! Twelve year old Agatha (Aggie) meets a young Belgian refugee named Hector Perot and they become fast friends. I loved how imaginative Aggie was and how Hector was more logical. 🔍

Saturday morning reading in bed. What a nice treat! I‘m really enjoying this book! Aggie is currently learning “How to Be Gracious at All Times, Even with Villains” from her Grannie Jane. 😊

1 and 2. I‘m reading the tagged book as a physical copy.
3. I just started it today but I‘m enjoying reading about the fictional escapades of young Agatha Christie.
4. I never mark in books. I will use a sticky flag if there is something I want to remember.

I haven‘t hid the fact that I have Depression and Anxiety. Here are the things that help me!
1. I have therapy every week, takes meds every day, and see a doctor for regular mental checkups.
1a. I make the time to do the things that I enjoy like reading, listening to music, and playing some games.
2. I replaced some of my skincare items.

1. As many as my kindle will hold! I never know what will sound appealing.
2. I used to before Kindle but not anymore. I remember one trip to visit relatives where the books I brought lost their appeal and I had nothing to read and nowhere to get something new. That sucked!

Consuming stories really helped me through the last month. I picked up A Day Like This on a whim and was totally intrigued by the plot. I listened to Agatha Christie‘s The Body In The Library and so enjoyed Miss Marple‘s detecting skills. Listening to The Map of Knowledge took some time because there was so much to absorb. The Promise Of A Kiss was a delightful historical romance escapade set in Egypt.

Hi everyone! I‘m still here! This is a somewhat accurate representation of me over the last month. I‘ve been basically a hermit for the last two years but Covid got me anyway. I was really scared but so glad that I‘m vaccinated. I still have some lingering issues like fatigue and a bit of a cough, but I‘m doing a lot better than I was. I‘ve really missed all of you and hope you are all well. 💕
First book in A Gilded Newport Mystery series featuring Emma Vanderbilt Cross, an independent relation of the famous Vanderbilts. I hadn‘t planned on reading this right now but the historical setting sucked me in. I wish there had been more about Emma‘s job as a newspaper reporter.

Jamie has been having fun playing and ultimately beating the new game Starfighter Training Academy. Turns out it‘s not a game when a hunky guy (who looks just like her in-game partner) shows up at Jamie‘s door in the middle of the night to recruit her to fight for an alien world in trouble. Steamy sci-fi romance.

1. Unfortunately no.
2. I love reading romance almost as much as mystery! Hero as protector and soulmates. ❤️

Steampunk adventures including airships, clockwork spies, and mystical rituals. A group of intellectual misfits travel from England to France and Italy on a expedition to uncover a potential new energy source. The ending felt a bit rushed but overall I enjoyed the book.

This was a fun middle-grade story set in Regency England where magic exists. Cousins Kate and Cecelia share their adventures in Society via letters. This epistolary style made me feel as if I was receiving the letters myself. I really enjoyed it!

Another fun mystery in the Nancy Drew Diaries series. Nancy comes to the rescue of her boyfriend, Ned, who finds himself in trouble at a rare books library while researching it‘s resident ghost. I enjoyed the story but was a bit disappointed by Ned‘s impulsiveness. I guess there can only be one Nancy Drew! 🔍
#audiobook #mystery #NancyDrew
I quite enjoyed this short historical romance set in Gilded Age New York at Christmas time. I liked learning the bits about creating window displays for a department store. I could have done without the misunderstanding between the main couple. Still, it was a pleasant holiday read and introduced me to a new author.
