Patiently (kinda) awaiting my turn to watch Game of Thrones with this continuation of this post-apocalyptic YA techno-thriller. 🤔 I generously offered to let my sister and brother-in-law use my HBO Now account to watch GOT first since he has to get up at 4. I‘m counting down the minutes to find out how the show is going to let me down this week. 🤣

Even though my son is 10 and has been able to read on his own for years, he still loves our nighttime ritual of me reading to him. We‘re about a third of the way through Order of the Phoenix now - I‘d forgotten this one was the longest!

emz711 I got my husband hooked on hp that way and we've read it through twice together! 5d

This audiobook made me legit tear up several times during my commute and in the lab. I‘d have to take breaks sometimes, especially during the experiments in the concentration camps. It‘s so important to remember these atrocities, especially in this day and age with how hateful and divisive everything has become.

I LOVED this volume. Ms. Marvel has become disillusioned and gone into hiding. Her friends take over as stand-ins for Jersey City‘s superhero. This reminded me so much of Buffy the Vampire Slayer when the Scooby gang has to take over patrols after Buffy dies. Plus, Kamala becomes an auntie and Bruno is back!

Setting aside my audiobooks for my #labsoundtrack today so I can catch up on some podcasts. Casefile is one of my favorites and Case 107 covers the murder I read about in ‘People Who Eat Darkness‘. Anyone else listen to Casefile? It‘s really well-produced - very in-depth research, great narration, plus they add in atmospheric music in the background that is light enough to not interfere with the narration. So good!

swishandflick I love his voice! I get so creeped out sometimes, in a good way for true crime 😆 2w

Although a bit repetitive, this book is an important read during these times. We‘ve been taught so long to repress emotions other than happiness, positivity, and politeness that it‘s important to teach women how to use their voices (and anger) and the differences we can make when we do.

FeministBookClub Such a good one. The angry trifecta is this book + Soraya Chemaly‘s Rage Becomes Her + Brittney Cooper‘s Eloquent Rage. 2w

Started this audio yesterday for my #labsoundtrack and still listening today. Continuing my streak of lovely wonderful accents with Australian now. I recently started tackling this series after my IRL book club members couldn‘t stop raving about it. This one definitely wasn‘t my favorite so far as it didn‘t actually take place in Three Pines. I‘ve got this one as an ebook loan through my library. I don‘t know why but I have the WORST time getting through ebooks (unless they‘re romance - those I can usually blow through no matter the form). I don‘t know if it‘s because my phone has so many other things that easily distract me or what but it takes me forever to get through them. Anyone else have this problem?

BookHoarder32 I have issues reading ebooks on my phone too. I think mine is more of formatting question - an epub vs pdf. If I have to squint too much it takes me out of the story. I sometimes think of getting some kind of e-reader, but paper books are still my first choice of medium. 😊 4w
stacybmartin @BookHoarder32 I started listening to a lot of audiobooks on Overdrive (being able to get them through the library was a life changer) because I have a long commute and a job in a lab where I can listen all day sometimes. I wonder if that‘s messed with my attention span?? 🤓 4w
ShyBookOwl I never read on my phone. It feels wrong. But I LOVE my kindle. 3w
