A lot of truth in this book.
Ann Patchett, writer of great books and owner of excellent book store. This shop has such a great vibe.
The Truly Devious series is soooo fun! A mystery from the past combines with a mystery in the present and a delightful little red herring. If you haven‘t read these, you‘re very lucky because you can binge read the entire series. You should also read Maureen Johnson‘s tweets ‘cause she‘s a hoot.

This book asks - and answers - all the important questions about death, dead bodies, and decomposition.
🤣🤣This book is B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Unorganized, but highly readable.
While visiting the Thorne Collection (my favorite!) at the Art Institute of Chicago I learned about this fun series.
After reading Judy Chicago‘s book on Frida, I want to learn about all the women artists.
“She looked like Katharine Hepburn in Desk Set. All smart and efficient and completely unaware of how beautiful she was. Armand could watch her all day long.”

This past fall my significant otter took me to Hearst Castle. It is amazing! I failed to take pix in the library, but I would totally read in here which is Hearst‘s office-y space. If you ever get a chance, GO (and there‘s a nearby Elephant Seal colony). It, and Mallory O‘Meara‘s upcoming Lady From The Black Lagoon, has inspired my 2019 reading goals - celebrity / Hollywood memoirs. I‘m making plans and Peter Lorre I‘m coming for you.
Usually, I savor these books and take my time between them. But after the end of The Beautiful Mystery I just have to know what happens next. I feel as if things are going to be difficult for Gamache, but I believe he‘ll get through it ok.
Right on, Thich Nhat Hanh. ☮️💜

E.Shaver Booksellers (Savannah, GA) Bartleby (top) would prefer not to; Eliot covers your shirt in fur before you get it home.
My cat and I put together this donation for our library‘s silent auction fundraiser - A Tisket, A Tasket, A Literary Basket - taking place this Saturday. Banjo isn‘t interested in attending, but I‘m planning on going with my significant otter.
This is gonna take forever to get through. 50 pages in and I‘ve had to look up Saga nishiki, bochinchera, and Larry Levan and Saturday Mass at the Paradise Garage. That last one sent me on a discovery of the most incredible dance music. #houseofxtravaganza #parisisburning #thelibraryisnowopen #readingisfundamental
This first paragraph makes me ache for spring.
West Virginia and West Virginians have been brutalized by big money and politicians since 1863. Teachers have always been my heroes and instilled in me my love of learning and reading. I stand with WV teachers. #55strong https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2018/03/02/how-striking-west-vir...
I had no idea 2015‘s Spectre is responsible for the parade.
I never really got in to her music and approached Just Kids with some skepticism (believe the hype! read it!), but I decided if Patti Smith was playing in my neighborhood I should go. Amazing set that included many songs she wrote with her late husband, WV native Fred “Sonic” Smith.

To redeem the work of fools
Upon the meek the graces shower
It's decreed: the people rule”
