Happy Thanksgiving to all who celebrate! Wishing a happy day to those that don‘t. Any day is a good day to have yummy food and be thankful for loved ones. ☺️💕
Book number 4 in the Paws & Claws series. I always enjoy the atmosphere of the Inn and all the various pets. Love is in the air during a matchmaking event at the Sugar Maple Inn in the pet-friendly town of Wagtail Virginia. I think there are more shenanigans going on in this book compared to the previous one! The mystery kept me turning the pages even when real life tried to distract me. I highly recommend this series!
This is the third book in the Paws & Claws mystery series featuring the Sugar Maple Inn in the pet-friendly town of Wagtail, Virginia. The town is holding a murder mystery weekend that goes sideways when an actual murder is committed! The Inn is charming as well as the staff and various pets. The cat, Leo, was so much fun! The mystery kept me turning the pages. This is one of my favorite series. On to the next!
I absolutely loved this book! It‘s historical fiction focusing on the early days of BBC radio. We get to tag along with protagonist Maisie as she assumes secretarial work for the Talks department, and marvel with her over the wonders of the broadcasts and the people that make them happen. I thoroughly enjoyed my immersion in the story and atmosphere of London in the 1920‘s. The best book I‘ve read this year!
Hey Litsy friends! Can I ask a question or two?
I‘m new to bifocals but not corrective lenses and I just wondered how does one walk around with these things on?! When I try to look at the ground to make sure I don‘t trip on anything, everything is too blurry through the bifocal part. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. 🤓 #BifocalLife
1. I used to read magazines but not so much anymore. Newspapers actually make me sneeze!
2. I don‘t have any in-real-life friends that read. People around here are almost proud that they Don‘t read. 😒
3. It has to be an immersive story that takes me out of myself.
4. Air conditioning, a quiet home, and trying to be in the moment.
1. 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff. Made into a movie in 1987 with Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins.
2. I would love to see any of Jasper Fforde‘s Thursday Next books as a movie!
I finally have a table to work jigsaw puzzles! I‘ve loved doing puzzles since childhood but it‘s been a long time since my last one. This one is a scene from the movie, My Neighbor Totoro. It was a gift from my husband. He knew I wanted to start audio puzzling. I‘m currently listening to Death at Bishop‘s Keep by Robin Paige.

Current afternoon reading while I update my computer. This historical romance is reminiscent of the 1999 movie The Mummy with Brendan Fraser. Love and adventure in 19th century Egypt! ❤️
This historical fiction explores the eleven days in 1926 when Agatha Christie went missing. Even to this day no one knows what happened nor why. Agatha and Archie‘s relationship takes center stage in this narrative. The pieces begin to fall into place presenting an intriguing story that kept me turning the pages and marveling at the end.

Having a pleasant afternoon reading the tagged book. I‘m treating myself to some Cherry Coke Zero. What you can‘t see is the classical music playing - Twelve Concertos by Charles Avison (1709-1770).
I hope everyone is having a good friday!
1. I like 3rd person best. I don‘t need to self-insert.
2. 2nd person is my least favorite. I find it tiring.
3. I‘ve read some Choose Your Own Adventure books back in the day.
#SundayFunday @ozma.of.oz Would anyone else like to play? ☺️
Hey everyone! I‘m still kicking around. Life stuff seemed to keep happening which made me so tired. Plus anxiety. Here are my #RecentReads
Call Me Maybe is a hilarious romantic comedy and I highly recommend it.
Minimum Wage Magic is an urban fantasy/alternate reality where very few things are illegal in the Detroit Free Zone.
Duty Bound Guardian was a faith-filled romantic suspense and a nice change of pace.
I‘ve missed you all. 💕📚🎧
I‘m here for body positivity and representation but there was just something about the protagonist, Bea, that made it hard for me to cheer her on. She was on the reality dating show for her career and it showed in her behavior towards the men. Of course, some of the men‘s behavior was horrendous. There was one scene that bothered me but I won‘t spoil the story. I did love the descriptions of the places and “dates”.
Wow! It‘s been 5 years since I joined this wonderful community! I‘m so very glad and grateful to be here and know all of you lovely Littens. Litsy is the best place on the internet with the kindest people!
The owner of a world renowned spice company butts heads with a botanist from the Smithsonian over a rare orchid in this story set in 1900 Washington D.C. Accepting an invitation to tour the hero‘s greenhouses means unwittingly becoming involved in political intrigue which has the heroine questioning her loyalties.
I really enjoyed the historical setting. This is published by a Christian imprint but isn‘t overly preachy. #ebook #historical
Hello #PemberLittens and thank you for allowing me to join your group. This will be my first time reading Emma, though I am familiar with the story. I decided to treat myself to this beautiful edition complete with lovely artwork by Marjolein Bastin, one of my favorite artists. Here‘s a link if anyone wants a closer look at this edition: https://publishing.andrewsmcmeel.com/book/emma/
Not book related: I got my second vaccination shot today! First shot wasn‘t so bad. I don‘t know about this time. My arm does hurt already. It‘s best not to think about it! 🙃
I‘ve struggled with insomnia for a long time. Listening to stories at bedtime helps my mind calm down. That‘s where Get Sleepy comes in. This podcast is a collection of calming stories with ambient sounds designed specifically to help the listener get sleepy at bedtime. I highly recommend episode 129 “The Room of Rare Books” for a nice and peaceful wander through a bookshop. It‘s a truly wonderful podcast. 😴

I stayed up way too late last night finishing this audiobook! Self-made Welsh businessman Rhys falls for shy Lady Helen in this steamy historical romance. Rhys is not the typical high society hero in that he is the founder and owner of a superb department store which I found quite refreshing in a romance. While the heroine annoyed me at times, the hero was perfection.

1. My memoir title would be Anxiety: The Life-Long Partner I Never Wanted. 🙃 I made myself laugh!
2. Violets are my favorite Spring flower.
Thank you to @robinb for tagging me! Everyone is welcome to play along.
Sometimes I have to use video games to help me calm down enough so that I can read. The only problem is that games can take up more of my time than I realize. I‘m still enjoying this cozy mystery in which Daisy Dalrymple finds herself stuck in the midst of a family fighting over an inheritance on the train when a murder happens. The only thing I‘ve already figured out is that my popcorn bowl will be empty! ☺️😋🔍

This was an entertaining story full of action and paranormal elements. Annja is an archaeologist researching a mythical creature in France when she stumbles upon a powerful artifact tied to her destiny. I read it when it was first published in 2006 as book one of the series. This audiobook adds in all the music and sound effects which makes it sound quite exciting. Worth the borrow on Hoopla.

Thank you @Andrew65 for hosting the #20in4 Readathon! No official time stamp as to how long I spent reading because the thought of the timer going made me nervous. I concentrated instead on the pleasure of just letting myself read. I had a nice time and finished the third book in the Daisy Dalrymple mystery series! I also fell down some internet rabbit holes that were a lot of fun. I‘m counting this Readathon a success! 💚
