2 #libraries 1 mini #libraryhaul (bottom two titles had to be 're borrowed' after the first renewal period ended) #LitsylovesLibraries
The tagged book, caught my eye as I made my way out of the library, is for my son (hopefully I get to read it too ;)) The aim is to introduce more nonfiction to him. #librarybooks #AprilinBooks18
The various reading plans led me to read mostly #authorsNewtoMe

Emilymdxn Really excited to see what you think of Go Went Gone! I really wanna read that one too 6y
BookishMe @Emilymdxn I only got to know about this book was when I spotted the featured titles of the MBIP Longlist on TBD. Looked up titles that were interesting to me, on the library catalogue. And this was readily available! I too am intrigued by the story set in Europe, unlike other similar books set in the troubled areas. 6y
Emilymdxn I‘m trying to read all the booker shortlist books (and all the longlist ones if I can get round to it) but haven‘t done this one yet. Honestly they all looked so fascinating! 6y
BookishMe @Emilymdxn wonderful for you! I am afraid not all selected titles will interest me, but it's good to know which are in the critics' limelight ;D 6y

THIS!!
What's the point of reunion?
Not all are eager to get reacquainted with the past, at least not always.

I hadn't realised how much I had missed Isabel Dalhousie's musings and reflection. Maybe I am finally ready to be in the same frequency as her ;))

Oh, just in time for the last #LitWorld2018GB Contours of Love title set in #Scotland 14/40 #santhiReads2018

Isabel and Jamie's marriage are simply #relationshipGoals

I call this my introductory textbook to book trade. Loved the insights into the history and various facets of the thriving industry. An industry that's the lifeline for us readers.
The folklore of Ulysses and those bookstores mentioned here... #santhiReads2018
Life is good when the weekend sees books completed and the week starts with completing another satisfying book!

GatheringBooks i hear you! they are my lifeline to sanity too. :) 6y

#Booked2018 1/4 Mission accomplished!
Such satisfying reads! I just realized all are written by females #readingWomen #santhiReads2018
(now I am curious about male authors of cozy mystery/ Feminist books 🤔 🤔 )

I can understand why Woolf's essay remains a classic. I will need to reread the genius' writing again to fully comprehend but what an eye-opener.

Thrilled for the next quarter's #titles. Woohoo (for myself! ;)) lol

GatheringBooks congratulations are in order! :) 6y
BookishMe @GatheringBooks thank you... I can't wait to create the first quarterly collage for GB's reading challenge as soon as I complete my Peru read ;D 6y
Blaire Agree. This was my pick for a feminist classic and loved it so much. 6y

Brilliant writing, thick with emotion, swept me through the family's hopes and tribulations. Their togetherness kept me glued to the heart-tugging story

alisiakae What an incredible quote. 6y
BookishMe @4thhouseontheleft ;D yes, one of the many from this incredible story. 6y

I think this quote captures the essence of my current favourite novel. #santhiReads2018

Today's #libraryhaul includes star of this month (dare I say, even the year ;)) my FebruaryFavourite - Count Rostov & Co.

I recently wondered if there's any contemporary writer who writes similarly to P G Wodehouse. I believe I found my answer in A Gentleman in Moscow.
I wouldn't elevate Towles to the genius of Wodehouse but the exceptional characters stole my heart.
There are better written books but this marvelous story will remain memorable.

GatheringBooks looking forward to reading this one soonest. :) hopefully this weekend. :) 6y
BookishMe @GatheringBooks 😍😍 I will try revisit the copy I still hold on to... It's my current comfort book ;D 6y

Discussion led by @LitsyBuddyRead made this a good read. Like many, I found it slow in the beginning and couldn't easily connect with the characters. Recovering from end of war can take almost a lifetime, if ever at all.

That doesn't take away how skilfully Shattuck presents war sufferings from various perspectives.
All suffered, they just suffered differently. #santhiReads2018
