Last year and this year!
🥳 Happy New Year!
A little off to the side but I've read the most I have ever read in a year.
32,779 pages and 159 books out of my goal of 60. I'm really proud of myself and I'm so excited for the next year and hope I can read just as much or more.
My books per year and pages per year both went up (although pages didn‘t go up by much), but my average pages per book went down this year. I did read some chunksters in 2016 and 2017 with lower word counts than one might expect though. I‘d be interested to see how the total and average word count per book has fluctuated too, but that‘s a little more work than I‘d like to do right now. 😂
Here‘s my 2018 summary from Goodreads. I set my first ever reading target at 50 books but rather exceeded that, which I totally hold you all responsible for! #blameitonlitsy
I just wanted to thank all you amazing Littens for a fabulously bookish year and wish you a Happy New reading Year for 2019.
My year in books.
We‘re traveling the next few days so I doubt I‘ll finish anything else before year‘s end. This was a record year for me - largely thanks to Litsy!! In fact, every year since joining has been a record year. 🤗
And it‘s pretty cool that both my shortest and longest reads were ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. #myyearinbooks
I will definitely be able to make my goal of 💯 (lots of audio).
My goal for 2019 is to read the books I actually own instead of getting so many books from the library/ bookstore. We'll see how well that goes... 😉
To make a long story short, I‘ve adjusted my goal both up and down during the year and have finally settled on 64 books. I‘m throwing in the towel on reading challenge prompts and will mostly just read what I want for these last three. I would just as soon curl up with a #bookandblankie on this cold rainy day, but I have much housework to do. At least I can listen to my audiobook much of the day.
Thank you fabulous Littens for making this a great book year for me. 😊❤️📚
I used three libraries this year and that is also thanks to y‘all.
This is a wonderful community!
I've read a novel per month, at 12 for 2017. Doubling that, while keeping mellow, still seems best. 😕 Restaurant life gets tough, with the same stresses of being needed at home, for another year, helping my parents afford the house rent. The downers aren't terrible, however feeling stuck, but we're working things out okay.. Life is good with fine teas, more books, and a few groovy shoes. ☕️📚👠#QueerBooks #TransBooks
I finally did it. I‘ve got #17in2017. Okay, there‘s four extra. I‘m a #rebelreader like that. All the details are posted on my blog. Take a peek here —> http://thebibliophage.com/2017-reading-year-review/

Setting my 2018 goal to 100 books. 🙂
My year in books ✌🏼 #2017
The thing I'm not sure about is how audiobooks like the Great Courses series, which don't have a book equivalent, are counted towards page totals. I'm guessing they aren't, which is a bit sad considering how many of them I listened to this year. They're between 12 and 18 hours long, so a decent number of pages. Oh well, it's still nice to see the breakdown.
Did anyone else read a book no one else read on Goodreads this year?
Happy New Year littens! Not too bad. Even if half of these were children‘s books 😅 https://www.goodreads.com/user/year_in_books/2017/9622268
My year in books! I didn‘t read as much this year as I would have liked. School got a hold of my life and wouldn‘t let me read but I am proud the amount of books that I have read! I lowered my reading goal for 2018 and I hope that 2018 is a good reading year for me! ❤️ #ayearofbooks #readingchallenge
This was a very productive reading year! I have to mention that my “least popular” book was published by my amazing neighbor who turned her nanowrimo story into a published work and mentioned me in the acknowledgments for being her word count buddy 😁
It wasn‘t the best of reading years for me, as I hit quite a few slumps throughout the year, but I can say that I am back to reading almost everyday now! I have a TON of books and series that I haven‘t read yet, so 2018 will be the year of series! I can‘t wait to start on the Grisha series after I finish my current read 🤓📚 #2017 #goodreads #readingchallenge
This was a heckuva reading year, including the launch of my book blog. I‘m planning some longer books in 2018 (#theyearofthechunkster), so this may be my best year for a while. But who knows ... my plans always change! #myyearinbooks #happybibliophage
Way over my goal of 24 books this year, and I have Litsy to thank! This was also the year I discovered audiobooks, caved in to ebooks, and joined my library after many years away. I had 19 5 star reads, and finally allowed myself to bail on books I hate. 2017 was a perfect bookish year! #yearinbooks #2017
My stats for the year. My Goodreads goal was 80. Not bad considering I fell into a major reading slump in November and December. 😢 I also kept track of how much money my library saved me this year: $951.55. (And that's not counting all the picture books I got for my kids.) My perfectionist self really wishes I had listened to 1 more minute of audio! 😄 (Actually, that number is even higher bc I didn't count the 4 audiobooks I bailed on partway.)
So. Close. Recently completed #shortreads have gotten me within reach of my original 60 book goal. One more book to go! There are hundreds of books I could choose from my shelf right now, but I still might go to B&N tomorrow to pick up the future No. 60.
I finally gave in and did my year in books on Goodreads. I don't know why they launch that so early in December. I want all my books to count! Also more people should read Ausma Zehanat Khan!
Pretty happy this year. Hit a personal best and read a ton of awesome books. And of course got to share it all with the best people on the internet!
