April was a very different reading month from March. I continued reading with various groups, including keeping up with the #BibleBuddyRead, completing 2 books for the #KindredSpiritsBuddyRead, another #PemberLittens read, our #LitsyBookClub pick, and 4 #1001books. The French novel L‘Assommoir by Zola ended up being my favorite because of its amazingly detailed description of everyday life in Paris.

March was a good reading month. I ended up going pretty much all in on the middle grade reading so that I didn‘t finish some other things in the plans. Although I‘m in the middle of some, I finished no books from the 1001 list and got behind on Ulysses, but I did mark 7 books off the owned TBR list.

Favorites this month were The War That Saved My Life & The Lions of Little Rock.

March stats... I doubt I will ever have another month with this many books! Granted, many of them were picture books and graphic novels. I've tagged my favourite book of this month, and it's a chunskster.

February was a graphic novel and manga-heavy month! 14 reads finished.
4 audiobooks (1 poetry, 1 nonfiction, 2 fiction)
2 picturebooks
5 graphic novels
3 manga

(I realized I accidentally left out one audiobook, two picture books, two magazines, and two comic issues for a total of 21 reads completed)

My #ReadingStats for January include 10 completed books and good progress on my long reads. My favorite turned out to be my first read of the year, the tagged A Year in the Country.

These are the basic stats for all of my reading in 2021. I‘m thrilled with a total of 160 books. This is the first year I listened to more books than I read in print.

Mt. TBR is only books in my possession, whether free, bought, or gifted, before January 1 and read for the first time in 2021. Owned includes books gifted to or bought by me at any time and includes rereads.

thebluestocking Your visuals are great! 💙 Interesting that audio surpassed other forms for you this year. I barely read anything that wasn‘t an audiobook. It‘s odd. Or maybe not. I can do other things while I listen but not while I read. 5mo
Daisey Thank you! I still prefer reading in print, but I have also gotten much better at listening to audio while I do other things. 5mo
BookBabe This is so cool with your charts! 😃 Really impressive reading year! 🙌🏻 5mo

I always enjoy looking at visual representations of my reading at the end of the year.

The top shows my ratings graph from Goodreads. I don‘t give many 5 star ratings, but there are a good number of 4 star ratings. According to Goodreads, my average this year was 3.4.

The bottom is original publication dates of all books read sorted by month. I‘m surprised by how many new books there are throughout the whole year.

Amiable I‘m with you —I usually average 3.3-3.4 on my ratings. A 5-star rating is rare for me —it has to be a phenomenal book. 5mo
Lcsmcat Did you create the bottom spreadsheet, or is it from Goodreads or StoryGraph? 5mo
Daisey @Lcsmcat I created it. I track the date in my spreadsheet and use conditional formatting for color coding. Then at the end of the year I copy and sort each month to create the bar graph. It went pretty quickly this year since I knew what I was doing. 5mo

Lcsmcat @Daisey I may copy that idea! It‘s fun to see it laid out like that. 5mo
BarbaraBB I love that idea of keeping track of publication dates. 5mo
Daisey @BarbaraBB Goodreads has a graph for publication date, and I thought for a while about a better way to show it because it‘s an aspect I always find interesting. 5mo
