DNF- Yes, there is suppose to be a lot of characters in this as the twelve dancing sister retelling. However, I was overwhelmed and lost with them all present the 38% of the book I read. I found myself asking who was talking… then the Gooseboy too? Maybe it ends up really good, but I was too lost to want to navigate through it especially with not being a stand alone.
My May wrap up. 📚🌼

January 2025 Book #11
This retelling for me is poor integrating and even boring. I‘m not the target audience but didn‘t like it. However, the illustrations are beautiful made by the author. 2⭐️
4✨A retelling of Peter Pan and Wendy with a darker twist. We find that Wendy has a suppressed memory of what happened to her and her two brothers that went missing for a while. She returned, but her brothers did not. When more kids turned up missing her memories start to resurface. I really like the mysteries they uncovered even though it ended on a bit of a sad note. Read for #FairyTaleReadingChallenge March
Starting next. I have a sleeping Boon keeping me company for now. This was my November pick for the #FairytaleReadingChallenge (2024).

Very in character for me to read a Sleeping Beauty reimagining - the theme for February‘s #fairytalereadingchallenge at the end of March… it kept me company on the train from Canberra to Sydney. I love Alix E. Harrow and this was enjoyable BUT calling girls who love Cinderella best vanilla right at the start. Ouch! The Disney version features the art and colour palette of Mary Blair AND Gus Gus! 😐
I‘m pretty sure I read this as a teen but I just can‘t get into it now - I hate the writing style. Accepting that it‘s a BAIL because it‘s been more than a month since I picked it up. (I ended up reading a short story to meet the prompt instead) #fairytalereadingchallenge : January: Snow White & Rose Red
