This book surprised me! It started off a bit mundane but then took an eerie and thrilling turn! The language is elaborate and the short story really gripped me🫶🏽 5/5🌟 and possibly one of my favorite books this year!

I need your opinion! What would you do: I have a honeymoon ahead in august. We‘ll have a long distance journey there (~20h) and back (~28h) plus two shorter journeys (~4h) between locations. First week will be lots of sightseeing, second week will be spent mainly at the beach (lots of reading time). Would you take many short(er) books to get a dent in your TBR (and how many??) or one chunkster (I‘m thinking Ulysses) plus maybe two lighter reads?

LeahBergen I would definitely go for more beach reads! I‘ve taken big fat classics on holiday before (and I DO love them) but never seem as eager to dive into them. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 1w
yourfavouritemixtape I think you should bring other books to take your head off Ulysses for a bit every now and then. I don‘t think I could have read it with no other books in between. :) 1w
ju.ca.no @LeahBergen @yourfavouritemixtape thanks for the tips🤗 you‘re probably right and I should tackle lighter reads! 1w

I also started this one today! I‘m only a few pages in and it‘s really good already! I‘m very much invested in the story and hope I‘ll find time to read or listen on tomorrow 🙈 It‘s about nurse Meret and her life in a clinic. There is a new intervention that is supposed to help people with their fears or angers but can also be very painful. Meret cares for the patients and begins to wonder if it‘s all worth it. Gripping!

ju.ca.no It hasn‘t been translated to English yet, which is a shame! I hope they‘ll translate it eventually:) 3mo

What a grest book! It was heartbreaking and made me so so thankful for being able to grow up and live in a safe country with basic human (female) rights 🙏🏼 the story follows two woman through their hardships, forced marriages, brutality, loss of rights and wars. 5/5⭐️

Finally finished this book I started months ago😅 The story is really interesting- but at times I wished for more! There are many snippet‘s of people‘s lives and I was invested in so many and was hoping to learn more about each of the characters, but we never dove deeper into one of their stories. They were mentioned and entangled in other stories but I wanted more! I do recommend it nonetheless! 4/5 ⭐️ (Kirby is excited about it too😂)

This book. Well. I usually never DNF anything but this book really was not for me at all. I read 70ish pages and it felt soooo long already. There is no real story, just random weird snippets. Don‘t get me wrong- I LOVE weird random snippets. But this felt so pointless, boring and pretentious. So, I‘ve decided to give up. I have another Robbins book at home and hope that that one will be better.

This book actually disappointed me. I had high high hopes but I just couldn‘t connect with it. It reminded me maybe a bit too much of Murata‘s Earthlings, which I‘ve read recently, maybe that‘s why. I was hoping for a new favorite book but it ended up being 3/5 ⭐️at best.
