This may be an unpopular opinion, but this one was kind of slow for me. It started slow and didn‘t pick up until about page 250. So for me it was just in the middle. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I LOVED this book! I especially loved that it features an autistic woman. My son has high functioning autism and I feel like I have tendencies, but have not been diagnosed. It‘s nice to see a representation like this, that is quite positive.

annahenke You'll love Ths Bride Test as well by the same author! Also features an autistic male lead. 1w
Meghan1 @annahenke I got that one in last month‘s BOTM box, too! It is on my TBR. 1w
Reviewsbylola I really wanted to love this, because my daughter also has ASD and I love the representation in popular fiction as well. I really hated the over abundance of sex though—it felt superfluous to me and took away from the story. 1w
Reviewsbylola Totally opposite of this, but I‘m currently listening to an audiobook memoir written by an autistic comedian. 1w

I really enjoyed this! There were some questions I had that weren‘t answered, but overall this was quite a good thriller.

MelissaSue81 I want to talk unanswered questions! I didn‘t love this, mostly due to the fact that everything happened in the last like 20 pages. Are your unanswered questions what happened to her after the letters? 2w
Meghan1 @MelissaSue81 yes!!! I felt like it was rushed at the end! What the heck happened and why were the letters still in the cell??. 2w
MelissaSue81 @Meghan1 - yeah.. that really wasn‘t addressed! I went back and reread to see if I missed something but I don‘t think so. It seems that the book is paying homage to Turn of the screw in someway, which I haven‘t read, but I think that‘s maybe why it was told through the letters? But we don‘t know what happened to her and why the letters were left in the jail. 2w

I LOVED this book! I finished it all today; it was quite a quick read. I have always enjoyed novels written in verse and this was no exception. My heart broke for Xiomara in many parts. I don‘t want to give anything away, but I highly recommend this book!

Kathrin I have had this on my TBR for a while. I am glad you like it. Did you read it audio or regular? I was planning on listening to it, but I don't know, if that makes sense for poetry.
2mo
Caterina @Kathrin Just jumping in here - I was lucky that my library had both audio and physical, so I did both at the same time and honestly I'd highly recommend that. It feels like you're missing pieces if you only do one or the other. This book blew me away! 2mo
Kathrin @Caterina I will take that to heart... as popular as the book is, it shouldn't be hard to get audio and physical from the library... Thanks!!! 2mo
