September was a pretty good reading month. Even if I didn‘t get to everything I wanted to, I managed to finish 14 books & 1 story. Standouts were A Sweet Sting of Salt, A Prayer for the Crown-Shy, A Sorceress Comes to Call, The Flight Portfolio & Trans Like Me.

pickTimeline Readalong came to end today. Having just finished The Shell Seekers. I particularly liked the mentions of Penelope Keating. Although her sone Neil has some character growth. I feel he's still self centered.
I particularly liked setting, party, Archie and Isabelle. Violet was my favorite. Spunky older ladies are my favorite thing about Rosamunde Pilcher. 👵

Here‘s my #september TBR. I wrote down all the Netgalley ARCs I have to read in the September Releases section of my reading journal so I could keep track of what I need to read and then I‘ll be reading the short stories for #noplacelikeholmes and the book club book this month for the #whimsicalreadsbookclub. Luckily, a lot of my Netgalley books are short.

Timeline Readalong ends today. Enjoyed my reread. It's a bit dated in places. But it has my favorite things about Rosamunde Pilcher reads - plucky older woman character and beautiful descriptions. However Winter Solstice remains my favorite.📖 🚘🍁🍂🏴

I need to up my reading game, I‘ve had too many distractions recently. Not sure how many of these I will get through, but I want to read as many of these as possible this month. Two book club reads, 4 in anticipation of the Cheltenham Literature Festival, one “just because”!

Normally I average 250-300pgs/day of reading, but August was 139. I can't remember the last time I had so many days where I didn't even read 100 pages. Hoping to use the #SummerEndReadathon to bump that up to 150pg average. I'm actually going to be working even more hours this month, so we'll see what happens. Also, I'm apparently participating in 7 chapter(ish)-a-day buddy reads because I have no self-control 😂

How fitting that my Timeline Readalong of September by Rosamunde Pilcher has started back up. Last few days there has been a hint of fall with cool mornings. Not that it will last. Sunday forecast high is 101F/38C.
While the majority of the story takes place in September, 100 pages of it are set in August. Short chapters that are perfect with my morning tea as I dream of fall in Scotland. 🌞🫖🍁🍂🏴

Happy September ‼️ Read this Rosamunde Pilcher 5 yrs ago on a trip to 🏴. Every year I think I'll reread along the Timeline and I pick up book to remember it starts in May. 😄 Proceeds with Sections June, July, August and doesn't get to September until page 225.
Maybe next year I'll spend Summer in Scotland? After all now that it's #meteorologicalautumn time to plan 2023 Reading Challenges. 😄

My #SeptemberTBR looks strangely like my August one. 🤨 Actually, I was able to knock a couple off this stack last month. And I‘ve added some titles for this month just to keep things interesting. I also have an ebook and an audiobook on the go. Should keep me busy!😅
