A great summery read of two people who are right for each other but seemingly meet at the wrong time in their lives. Emma and Justin plan to date and breakup but somewhere in the weeks of dating, they really connect. Justin is such a caring man whose love language is acts of kindness from bringing her lunch and caring for her when she is sick. I just loved him! This was my April #BOTM pick and it was a winner.

Not the best week but it‘s Friday & there were plenty of moments of joy sprinkled in. Here‘s my #5JoysFriday list:

1. My #BOTM & #AardvarkBookClub boxes came in & I‘m especially excited to start Abby Jimenez‘s new book!

2. Had to attend a benefits strategy meeting😵but they bought us breakfast & I found great joy in my smoked pork belly loco moco.😋

3. The smell of my mango coconut lotion🧴

4. “Found” 2 boxes of Girl Scout cookies I hid ⬇️

I loved this book!! It‘s my first book by Abby Jimenez and it was such an emotional, funny and touching read. Briana and Jacob are 2 ER doctors who do NOT have a meet cute moment. Briana is reeling from a bad divorce and dealing with a sick brother. Jacob suffers from anxiety. The way they find love is too adorable. 5 STARS. #YoursTruly. #BOTM

Very good. I didn't really know anything about what was happening in China during WWII. This book starts during that time and continues following 3 generations from China to Taiwan to the U.S. over the course of 70 years.

I devoured this #BOTM club book. It kept me guessing as to what was really going on with the main character, Eugene. It overall had a very intriguing premise. Through it all, I loved to love story…the idea of a love that transcends centuries and even lifetimes.

A book‘s great gift is that through its pages, you can be transported to another time and place and gain insight to a life different than your own. My favorite historical fiction novels teach me something about our past and inspire me to research more on my own while also delivering a memorable story. ⬇️

I always assumed Sally Hepworth wasn‘t an author for me (based on the covers, I guess?), but I actually really enjoyed this. Now I‘ll have to give her backlist a try. #BOTM

I started two more books yesterday becauseone is never enough. Just for the Summer is my #BOTM selection for April. Also started Dead Man Walking. Which is book 6 in the Fallen Men series. ❤️📖❤️📚❤️
