#12Booksof2023 #September

I think I missed a day. Oops.

In September, I started to get my reading mojo back and my top pick was the fifth book in the Fiona Griffiths series. I highly recommend starting at the beginning.

Andrew65 A great author. 3mo
Bookzombie @Andrew65 I really wish there were more than 6 books in the series. 3mo

ChaoticMissAdventures I am reading this now. Some super tough parts. The horrors the Native children went through in Residential schools, I can't imagine how anyone could do that. 3mo
Andrew65 Sounds must reading! 3mo

#12DaysofChristmas #September

I cannot choose between these two books written by Rebecca Wait. Both are 5 🌟 reads. They and The Covenant of Water made September an excellent reading month.

@Andrew65

Andrew65 That is an excellent reading month. 3mo

It was hard to choose a book for #September , because I read quite a number of standout books! This is Preston‘s nonfiction account of exploration & danger. Preston writes with humor and knows how to build suspense and describe scenes enough that I felt itchy from the bugs. It‘s fascinating. #12BooksOf2023

Honorable mentions:

How Can I Help You by Laura Sims
The Murder of Mr Wickham by Claudia Gray
The Cartographers by Peng Shepherd

Andrew65 This has had a few nominations, and sounds like a good month. 4mo

September faves: In Light of All Darkness and I Contain Multitudes. Both were fascinating non-fiction reads.

This was fun! I don‘t read a lot of YA so I don‘t know if it is unique or not, but it was to me! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I love a magic tournament, but I wish we‘d spent more time with the Essen Tasch. Also, I don‘t like cliffhangers, not because I want to know immediately what happens, but because it tends to make the next book either very fast or very slow in the beginning. That being said, I love Alucard, and he‘s a great addition to our main trio. 4/5⭐️
