Reading Log: Gifts for Book Lovers / Reading Journal [ Softback * Large (8 X 10 ) * Keep Calm * 100 Spacious Record Pages and More... ] | Smart Bookx
37 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
Large 8" x 10" Softback Reading Log / Journal [$5.50 / 3.99]. INTERIOR: One hundred attractive and spacious record pages. (To view, click on Look Inside and scroll past the initial blank Contents tables). As well as the main review space, there's space to log: - title, author, publishing details & page count, - start & finish dates, - book format, source & genre/subject, - thoughts & inspirations in an Inspiration Tree, - ratings on plot, character development and ease of reading, as well as an overall review score, and - memorable quotes. At the back you'll find: - a loan record sheet, - a tick list of the top 100 voted fiction books, and - a Notes page for jotting down new authors, books to read, book suppliers and other useful reading resources. At the front, a blank personalized Contents Table gives space for you to add your own categories alongside some of the more commons ones. Whether it's short stories, poetry, satire or a few specific authors that float your boat, you'll always be able to quickly find any of your reviews by allocating each to one or more categories as you go along. All pages are of thick white paper (55lb) to minimize ink bleed-through. EXTERIOR: Cover: Tough matte paperback. Binding: Secure professional trade paperback binding, i.e. it's built to last; pages won't fall out after a few months of use. Dimensions: 20.3 x 25.4 cm (8" x 10"). (Almost the same width as A4 but a few cm shorter in height - so no more cramming into tiny boxes!) SIMILAR PRODUCTS: smART bookx publish several Reading Logs. Each has the same interior but there are cover designs to suit all tastes. To view them all, search 'reading' & 'bookx' on Amazon (don't forget the 'x'). This year, I‘m using the new 2021 reading log by www.everyday-reading.com. I just finished coloring this in. I‘m going to be coloring the books on here after I finish reading them. I haven‘t started reading anything yet because I don‘t know what I want to read this month.

What a year! On so many levels! I know we‘ve got a lot of work ahead of us to make 2021 a better year. But, I‘m relieved to be able to post this wrap up. This year‘s reading has mostly been comfort reads. Romance is always a big chunk of my reading, but this year, it become the main theme! Even the books that aren‘t categorized as romance, have a romantic storyline. How did your reading change this year? #YearEndWrapUp

Reggie Great job! 3y

These are all of the books I read this year. This year, I used this reading log from www.everyday-reading.com to track how many books I read but I did a digital version of it instead of printing it out. I tried printing it out and coloring in the book titles before but I didn‘t like how it looked when I did it that way so I decided to color in the book titles and add them in using a photo editing app. I had a lot of fun filling this in.

Still loving the #leio app - it‘s Apple only, but worth the $5. I‘ve been using it for 3 years, which is crazy!

I‘ve been tracking my reading pretty thoroughly for a few years now, (as in several spreadsheets worth of ridiculous trackers), but I feel like these were my top 3 most pertinent percentages to track. I feel okay about most of it, except for my AoC percentage. I really thought I was doing better than 25%. But, I guess that‘s part of why I track these things. So I can do better! What stats do you like to keep track of?

Andrea313 I track most of the same categories, and also first-time reads vs re-reads. I am a BIG re-reader and try to challenge myself to expand my horizons! 4y
the.bookish.valkyrie @Andrea313 I‘m am a big re-reader too! I can‘t believe that I‘m not tracking that! 4y
Andrea313 @ValkyrieAndHerBooks Never to late to start! I'd be interested to see your ratio of old to new! 4y
the.bookish.valkyrie @Andrea313 lol, you totally caught me going through my spreadsheets for 2019 and 2020! So, last year 73 of my 203 reads were rereads. And so far this year, 20 out of my 81 reads have been rereads (that‘s counting my current reads as well.) 4y
Andrea313 @ValkyrieAndHerBooks Frankly, I think you are rocking it with well over half as new reads! Last year I read 213; less than a hundred were new. 4y

This year's challenges. Hopefully no one adds more that sound interesting.

I think most of this will be doable. There will be some challenges on #Booked2020 (tartan Noir), and some on the #Popsugar challenge.

But I think it is doable.

Litsy hive mind!!

Last year I found this Reading Log template, and LOVE it! All the tabs were already created with awesome formulas that show me how diverse I am reading, what genres I read the most, etc etc.

I thought I found it on Book Riot, but can't find it anymore, and I am trying to see if the same person made a 2020 one. Anyone recognize where this spreadsheet came from?

BarbaraBB I recognize it, I downloaded it too. Someone shared a link here. But I don‘t remember who either 🤷🏻‍♀️ 4y
alisiakae @BarbaraBB I should have kept a blank copy to use in future years. But I didn't. I may have to make a copy of my 2019 one and then clear out all of this year's stats, but I'm lazy, and I'd rather not. 😆 4y
Captivatedbybooks Can you email me the link & ill make a blank one lol i want to use this 4y
See All 20 Comments
Marina_h I'm pretty sure it was on Book Riot, but it's not there anymore. I looked for it a month ago or so put I can only find the 2014 version 😟 4y
wanderinglynn That looks like an awesome tracker! 4y
Marina_h I have a blank copy. Does the link work? 4y
alisiakae @Marina_h That worked, thank you so much! I made a copy. Now all I have to do is add in my Popsugar RC tracking sheet and I'm good to go! (edited) 4y
Marina_h @4thhouseontheleft happy to help 😊 I'm glad I found it myself so I don't have to make a whole new one. 4y
alisiakae @wanderinglynn It is! I love the pie charts tab, it is visually appealing and I learned about my personal reading trends using it this year. 4y
alisiakae @Captivatedbybooks @Marina_h just posted a copy of it in her comment! 4y
LMJenkins Just copied as well - thanks, all! 4y
BookwormM I may have to use this next year my problem will be remembering to fill it in 4y
Jerdencon Thanks @Marina_h I copied it too! Now to remember to use it! Lol 4y
emtobiasz I‘ve been using this spreadsheet too and love it! I added a bunch of extra fields to personalize it to my own challenges and reading concerns. I like that the tabs let me ignore the challenges if I‘m letting them guide/guilt my reading too heavily. 4y
TheSpineView Cool spreadsheet bit! I have not seen a 2020 version of it that a recall. If I do, I'll let you know.😊 4y
DGRachel I use this, too! I had hoped she‘d update it for 2020, because I‘m lazy and don‘t want to have to fix the formulas myself. 😭😭 I love this spreadsheet so much, I did one a year for every year I had Goodreads data, then did one that combined all the years before I joined Litsy, one for all the years since I‘ve been on Litsy, and then one that combined all the years. (edited) 4y
Captivatedbybooks @Marina_h THANK YOU!!!! 4y
mariaku21 I use that one too - I did find it on book riot. Maybe the author that writes about the Read Harder challenge will post a link to the revised edition when she writes about the next one? 4y

For the last few years I have been using journals to track my reading and review books. Each year I buy a different one and since my current journal only has 2 more pages, it was time for another. This came in the mail today and I love it. It has a gorgeous soft cover, a table of contents, 100 pages for reviews, a checklist of 100 top fiction books, and a loan record. My only criticism is I wish it had spirals and more than one page for notes.

Here is a “card” on trello that is opened. You can add any info or notes you want. The labels can be called anything you want. I‘m thinking about changing some of them. I hope this is a little clearer @catsuit_mango I use the due date as the finished date.

Does anyone use Trello? We use it to organize projects at work, so I tried it to see if it works for a book log. It‘s free too. Trello.com. 😁📚

catsuit_mango How are you using it? Do you just put in books and estimated time of reading? How about the to read someday list? And what do the colors mean? 6y
Luv2readbookz @catsuit_mango First I set up a list by month. Each book is on it‘s own “card.” Then I add the books I‘m currently reading. When I finish I use the due date just to record the date. You could make a list of TBR cards and then move them over to the months you read them if you want. The colors are labels you can assign. I made one color for fiction, one for nonfiction, one for book club, one for arc, etc. 6y

alvingregorio Whoa baby! 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes @ferskner Aw, thanks! I noticed a few other Littens who won prizes, it was very exciting. 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes @Chelleo Well I've been playing around with it a little, as you can see...Right now I'm starting with a cell that has the number book within the month and the year (so mine are all 26/26 for example bc it's the first month), then the title, author, my star rating, then a cell where I draw an icon telling me if I read it in print/audio/digital AND if it was graphic or not, as well as a little "F" or "NF" (fiction/nonfiction) and color coded dots ⬇️ 6y
Natasha.C.Barnes @Chelleo ...cont--color coded dots to show if it is written by a woman or POC, or if it is a collection of poetry or short stories (bc I'm going to read a lot of those this year), then the page count of the book and original publishing year, then the dates I started and finished it, and FINALLY, little spaces for check marks if I've reviewed them here and on Goodreads. Whew! That's a lot. 6y
Chelleo That‘s awesome! I just tagged you on my current layout because I‘ll be making some adjustments. Will likely steal your idea for tracking reviews! Also like that you track W/POC. 6y

BooksTeasAndBookishThings That one is affordable and always a book by a POC, only comes with 1-2 extra items, but still a good box ❤️ 7y
Laughterhp @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Thanks so much!!!!! I'll look into them both! 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Of course! There are a few boxes that offer unique used editions of books with something like a good tea or coffee, but you never know what book you will get. Could be one you have read or not. Still fun, though. If you want a link to one of those? 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings There are a couple of romance and horror/sci-fi subscriptions as well. Let me know your preferred genre 😊 7y
Laughterhp @BooksTeasAndBookishThings Ooo maybe a genre one.. I like mystery, romance or fantasy/sci-fi. No horror! 😬 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings Here is a romance that is signed an affordable ❤️ https://www.cratejoy.com/subscription-box/reveal-book-box/ 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings This one I have only gotten one box of and it was okay, the premise is definitely fun, but the items were only so-so, but I have read that the items have gotten better. So, maybe worth a try or a look into their more recent boxes 😊 https://www.cratejoy.com/subscription-box/once-upon-a-book-club/ 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings This one has only books with an occasional extra, but you get a lot of books both physical and electronic. https://www.cratejoy.com/subscription-box/fresh-fiction-box-not-to-miss/ 7y
BooksTeasAndBookishThings There are a couple that mix horror with Sci-fi and mystery/thrillers and you wouldn't know when you are going to get horror, but you may still want to check out? 7y
Laughterhp Thanks so much! Now I have so much to look up! 😁 7y
