I completed my first #TBRBingo, made of specific titles I wanted to read, in a year and a half. I'm hoping this way of doing it with categories will speed up the process a bit! I'm still planning to read all books I own for this personal challenge. Tackle the TBR mountain!

My husband always said he wouldn't let my book collection intrude into our bedroom, since we already have a room designated for books. But then we decided to buy grown-up matching bedroom furniture, and it was his idea to buy a bookcase for each of us! Now I just need to figure out what books to put on it!

Megabooks I love looking at my books before I go to bed, but I‘m weird. 🤣🤪 3mo
smilingshelves @Megabooks I'm with you! I told my husband I needed to pick books to put on it that would make me happy, and he looked at me strangely. 😂 3mo
rretzler I have a smaller amount of hardcovers than I do paperbacks, so I ended up with the hardcovers in the bedroom. Most of those give me joy as they are the books that I couldn‘t wait long enough for them to come out in paper. 🤣 3mo

BucklingBookshelves Oh I love this! And that he has one too is so great. Have fun picking what to put in it! We have small 2 shelf bookcases as our nightstands and I currently have poetry on mine because it was the only category that (mostly) fit 🤣 And I have another 3 shelf case for Newberys that migrated into our room when we moved stuff from the guest room/our daughters room 🤷🏼‍♀️📚🤷🏼‍♀️ 3mo

Book club is in one week, and I'm just starting what I suddenly realized is a 550 page book. That's going to be a challenge to finish in a week, but I have a paper copy, an ebook, and an audiobook to help me. So I can get through it three times faster?? Anyone else read a book in multiple formats?

hes7 Good luck! 3mo
ImperfectCJ I'm doing that right now (with The Road to Unfreedom by Timothy Snyder). I wish I'd done it with The Time Traveler's Wife because the time jumps were difficult to keep track of on audio. I heard that this was a telling of the Biblical story of Ruth and Boaz, which was interesting enough. But to open it to discover that it's a retelling set in 1860s England where "Ruth" is an Indian woman had me so excited. I love the way this retelling brings the Biblical story to life in whole new ways. And the writing is phenomenal. Plus, the cover! ? Highly recommended!

BucklingBookshelves As much of a crier as I usually am with books, audiobooks don‘t usually get me teary for some reason. This was still so heartbreaking how hard she is on herself 😞 Along with the passage where she calls herself a useless girl — “Then they wouldn‘t have to worry about another body, my useless body, to fill with water and food anymore” — that just kills me because SO MANY girls feel this way, in all different circumstances. 😞 6mo
smilingshelves @BucklingBookshelves Yes, that passage was awful as well! I feel like so much of this could have been avoided if their father had just explained to them what was going on. I see some parallels with Merci Suarez Changes Gears. In my opinion, twelve is plenty old enough to know what's really going on!

@BucklingBookshelves #buddyread I haven't much time to read over the past couple days, but the next few should be better. How are you doing?

BucklingBookshelves Same here — it‘s been a crazy week here! I did decide to do the audio though and signed up for a Scribd trial, so I think that should help me get back into it.
