I really wish I‘d known this so I could‘ve saved a screenshot of the MANY books I had tagged to borrow eventually.

Totally bummed that funding was cut. #hoopladigital was a great resource and loan periods were a week longer than Libby.

On the other hand, I have yet another reason to read my shelves!

This is the third Boyne I‘ve read, and the second that I really loved. Maurice Swift is such an interesting, repulsive character.

My one criticism is that, as he seems to identify as aromatic and asexual, it‘s portrayed as just another negative aspect of his profile. Those of us on the ace spectrum get so much erasure, flack, or judgment that it seems like low-hanging fruit to pick with Maurice. He‘s terrible all on his own; leave us out of it!

As I continue my slow journey through a #chronologicalkingread, I realize I‘ve forgotten just how long this short story collection is.

I also notice that King was 45 when he wrote the introduction to the book. I‘m really glad he hadn‘t said everything he had to say at that point. Apparently, he hasn‘t yet, either! Lucky for us Constant Readers.

Highly recommend this one. It‘s well written, with humor, heart, and evidence of why Dave Grohl is such a well-liked dude.

I started this one shortly after Taylor died, so finishing it today, on the anniversary of Kurt‘s death, seems like a nod from the universe. Hoping Dave is okay today. I‘m glad he has a lot of love around him.

CBee I didn‘t even realize how close the dates were, when Kurt died and when Taylor died. I can‘t even imagine how he‘s feeling 🙁 1mo

1. This book is amazing and I‘m really sad for Dave.
2. Wtf? This shipped new from Target in November and I never cracked it open before a few days ago. Wtf is this torn page about!?! I am so annoyed.

Editing as now I‘m annoyed AND insulted. A 2nd book ordered in Feb had a torn cover, so I emailed about both.

The pictured book they can‘t do anything about. The other one? They refunded me sixty. Four. Cents.

No more books from Target for me.

I‘m reading this one for #AuthorAMonth, and gosh, chapter 2 was difficult. Beautiful writing, which made the painful events that much more visceral.

I think I‘ll put it down for tonight and hope tomorrow‘s chapter is a bit brighter.

Warm Bodies is funny, bittersweet, and thought provoking, if you stop and think what it means to be Dead or Alive.

The Beauty is an STD that makes people better looking - but two years in, with half of America infected, the price is becoming apparent. I‘m not sure what I was thinking, starting this series as we enter year two of Covid, but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Happy New Year! Starting the reading year off with a graphic novel and my first #NYWD pick.

A high school senior, oblivious to girls, gets help from his pumpkin patch BFF in a last ditch effort to talk to the girl he likes from afar.

The story may be a little predictable, but it serves as comfort food - kind of like the patch foods sampled throughout the book. Faith Erin Hicks did a great job illustrating.

Not really celebrating the holidays this year, but am thinking about the new year. Pictured here: my physical TBR. Suffice to say, I didn‘t very well with #PricePerPage in 2021!

In some ways, the slow increase of ace representation in books feels similar to the increase of vegan options in the world. If you‘d have told me I could have my pick of plant-based meats at the supermarket 12 years ago, I‘d have been skeptical. So I have to believe something similar is coming in book options!
