Day 1 of the #24b4Monday challenge. It was a great start with three books finished!

Slaughterhouse-Five: Not an uplifting read, but it was an interesting approach to post-WWII disillusionment. Also, if I ever hear “so it goes” again, I might die. 😂

When Breath Becomes Air: A Goodreads review describes this as “a gasping, desperate, powerful little book,” which is a perfect description of this truly amazing book.

This one gets its own post because it‘s for both #24b4Monday and #bookfitnesschallenge #bfc

This was such a beautiful book. It was heartbreaking and deeply healing in equal measure. Even though it was fictional, it struck on some very real themes in an honest and inspiring way. It was a short and wonderful religious book that is worth the read!

This was a good book—the world/idea was very creative, and I liked seeing the story unfold. I thought the characters were a little annoying (but that was probably because I didn‘t love the reader), but I want to give the next book a try! 🤗

This was an incredible story. The 1994 Rwandan genocide was such a brutal and heartbreaking event, but Ilibagiza‘s story of faith was truly amazing. I loved seeing her strong relationship with God and the resilience and forgiveness she gained because of her faith. Highly recommended!

I finally finished this trilogy! I don‘t know if it‘s because I‘m a little older now or because The Mortal Instruments is really better, but I preferred TMI to this series. Finished this audiobook today, and to be honest, I‘m completely torn about it. I really liked it, and yet I didn‘t ever get into it. I liked the characters and the funky humor, and at the same time, it all fell flat to me. I don‘t know why I‘m having such a difficult time forming an opinion with this one, but whatever I feel about it, I‘m glad that I read it!

Pickpick

I‘ve been partway though this book for MONTHS, so I finally got the audio version and started over. That did the trick 🤗 I was surprised by how much this book felt like a first version of Pride and Prejudice, since they were so similar (with a few major differences, of course). But I really liked it, and I‘m glad I finally finished it!

This weekend my book club went on a girl‘s retreat to a cabin in Utah—which I think makes it the coolest book club ever. The cabin was so gorgeous and we had so much fun!

☀️ I grew up in California and now live in Utah.
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 I had a lifelong dream to live in London, which I fulfilled with a study abroad a few years ago. So I‘ll settle for somewhere in the western USA from here on out!
🇮🇳 India (and USA)
🥤 California is probably Mexican food. Utah has a baffling obsession with juice bars, haha.
🌎 If you‘re reading this, you‘ve been loved!
