Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Book 7) | J.K. Rowling
In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, the seventh and final book in the epic tale of Harry Potter, Harry and Lord Voldemort each prepare for their ultimate encounter. Voldemort takes control of the Ministry of Magic, installs Severus Snape as headmaster at Hogwarts, and sends his Death Eaters across the country to wreak havoc and find Harry. Meanwhile, Harry, Ron, and Hermione embark on a desperate quest the length and breadth of Britain, trying to locate and destroy Voldemorts four remaining Horcruxes, the magical objects in which he has hidden parts of his broken soul. They visit the Burrow, Grimmauld Place, the Ministry, Godrics Hollow, Malfoy Manor, Diagon AlleyBut every time they solve one mystery, three more evolveand not just about Voldemort, but about Dumbledore, and Harrys own past, and three mysterious objects called the Deathly Hallows. The Hallows are literally things out of a childrens tale, which, if real, promise to make their possessor the Master of Death; and they ensnare Harry with their tantalizing claim of invulnerability. It is only after a nigh-unbearable loss that he is brought back to his true purpose, and the trio returns to Hogwarts for the final breathtaking battle between the forces of good and evil. They fight the Death Eaters alongside members of the Order of the Phoenix, Dumbledores Army, the Weasley clan, and the full array of Hogwarts teachers and students. Yet everything turns upon the moment the entire series has been building up to, the same meeting with which our story began: the moment when Harry and Voldemort face each other at last.

DogMomIrene I love this series too! I haven‘t reread them in a long time. Maybe this year because they are so comforting. 3w

A beautiful & heart-wrenching conclusion to an epic tale. I first fell in love with the wizarding world because of the ways magic can make life different. Now I also cherish the bonds between characters that are so deftly crafted by pre-twitter Jo. The emotions she enables me to experience towards the end are so helpful to me as I process real life. Life is hard & love can be painful but it is vital & wonderful. Thank you, #always.

I‘m going to be participating in #theunreadshelfproject this year so January‘s prompt is comfort so I‘m choosing to read the final book in the Harry Potter series because I‘ve been finding this series to be very comforting. I reread the first book in Oct 2022 so I could continue the series and I‘m going to finish the series this month. I‘m excited. I want to finish the series but I‘m also sad about finishing it.

bthegood This looks like a good challenge - good luck - 🙂 1mo

I began the series (again) last year. I've read it countless times from childhood 'til now, but as I grow and change my experience with this story evolves as well. I'm very excited to re-discover easter eggs that I've forgotten (as the movies as much more efficient to view), to notice things that I've previously glossed over, and to experience this as a completely different person than before. #always

2022 is in the books. I didn‘t finish many of my challenges. I did make my Goodreads goal, read the Harry Potter series and finished the #chunksterchallenge2022.

When I got this book, I read through it in about a day. Then immediately re-read the entire series. This book has a decidedly different tone than the rest of the series and is by far the most adult of the books. There are many sad parts, but also lots of action and crazy scenarios. We also learn a LOT more about the wizarding world outside of Hogwarts. A well-written end to the series.

It rose, seemingly endlessly, and came to rest across Voldemort's shoulders: it's neck the thickness of a man's thigh; it's eyes, with their vertical slots for pupils, unblinking. Voldemort stroked the creature absently with long thin fingers...

1. I remember exactly where was when the tagged book broke my heart 😭

2. Science fiction/fantasy. I love when there‘s fantastic world building with new rules and new species.

3. Oh man. The hardest question to ask a bookworm. One of my favorites is Kushiel‘s Scion by Jacqueline Carey.

@MoonWitch94 Thanks for the tag!! 1. Deathly Hallows had me in tears of course. I ugly cried. 2. Fantasy is my favorite genre, anything is possible. is nothing like seeing an author build a beautiful world to get lost in. 3. The Gilded Ones series is a great example of world building, myth, and adventure.

The final book in the series. I waited years for these to come out because I read them when they were newly printed. I only ever read this one once. It‘s such a long book. I enjoyed it much more the 2nd time. Some of the surprises felt like surprises again. I realized that the series matured with the original readers when they were first published because the first book to the seventh is a sever jump in maturity. I look forward to the movies now.
