The #1 New York Times Bestselling Series! In this third book in Marissa Meyer's bestselling Lunar Chronicles series, Cinder and Captain Thorne are fugitives on the run, now with Scarlet and Wolf in tow. Together, they're plotting to overthrow Queen Levana and prevent her army from invading Earth.Their best hope lies with Cress, a girl trapped on a satellite since childhood who's only ever had her netscreens as company. All that screen time has made Cress an excellent hacker. Unfortunately, she's being forced to work for Queen Levana, and she's just received orders to track down Cinder and her handsome accomplice. When a daring rescue of Cress goes awry, the group is splintered. Cress finally has her freedom, but it comes at a higher price than she'd ever expected. Meanwhile, Queen Levana will let nothing prevent her marriage to Emperor Kai, especially the cyborg mechanic. Cress, Scarlet, and Cinder may not have signed up to save the world, but they may be the only hope the world has.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I was worried about adding more characters to the mix but it worked perfectly. The book was fast paced and went from one action scene to another equally good action scene flawlessly while also keeping a bit of romance. Thorne was my favorite! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I found the new character, Cress, in this this third installment of the Lunar Chronicles utterly charming. She is just the right combination of odd and endearing and her influence on the roguish Thorne humanizes him. Another book that, while by no means high literature, is an excellent read.

Today‘s #colormepretty is #primarycolors!

Iduna‘s Apples was the second book a friend of my mom‘s wrote, but the title changed to Elements of Magic in the renamed Rune Witch series. 10/10 would recommend.

Beastly would‘ve been a good book if I read it in middle school instead of as an adult.

Elephant Run was really good, and showed yet another facet of WWII I hadn‘t considered.

Of course, I will forever read and love anything by Mariasa Meyer.

Now that I‘m back from vacation I can get back into Litsy! This was the third installment in the series and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I like how it played on the original fairy tale of the prince going blind. If I have one complaint, I would say that it‘s hella convenient all of the people are pairing off into functional hetero couples. I do think the romances are cute, though.

Cress is the 4th book in the Lunar Chronicles, a fairytale themed futuristic adventure series that I‘ve enjoyed. I love how each book focuses on a different fairytale character, yet the characters I‘ve grown to love from previous books continue to be imbedded in the storyline; the cast of characters grows with each book. Rebecca Soler is fantastic and her narration has definitely enhanced my enjoyment with this series

I am still absolutely loving this series. I love how there are many different story lines but they are all interwoven together to make one story. I am a little intimated by the 4th book because it is over 800 pages. I have never read a book over 550 pages. I am hoping the story flys by I don't worry about the page count. Wish me luck!

whatsthEStorey They all flew by surprisingly quickly for me! At the beginning it seemed daunting and then at the end I was wishing for a few more pages! 6mo

This may have been my favourite book of the series. The author does a good job of keeping the separate story lines interesting. I love that there are so many characters with big parts in the story. Their reactions to every circumstance fits their different personalities perfectly, just like the author knows them each perfectly. Never a dull moment.

And now a tumblr post that had me dying of laughter. Honestly, this is just one of the truest things I‘ve ever read. Other than the singing they are incredibly similar to the point that in my minds eye Thorne looked like Flynn and Cress looked like Rapunzel. In fact after Thorne cut her hair I kept forgetting that Cress‘ hair was still blonde and not brown. Who else agrees? #thelunarchronicles #flynnrider #carswellthorne #tangled #disney

With “Cinder” & “Scarlet” I thought I simply enjoyed “The Lunar Chronicles” due to the fairytales & entertainment factor. With “Cress”, I‘ve come to realize that it‘s actually astounding writing. The characters are so vibrant & real, realistic dialogue, detailed world & political intrigue. The way Meyer weaves in the details of the fairytales proves how much research she‘s put it. Don‘t write this off due to it being YA. Great stuff here! ♥️

Jess_Franzino Also, Cress is legit me at age 18/19. 😂 8mo
Jess_Franzino And major points for not falling into tropes, some trope subversion, & very three dimensional, realistic, and admirable female characters. 8mo

Also, I would die for Cinder, Kai, Scarlet, Wolf, Cress, Thorne, Iko, & Dr. Erland.
.....I usually don‘t “do” fandoms, but these characters and the world have won my heart.

Really enjoyed this one, might even be my favorite of the series so far. I admire how well Meyer builds on the story she‘s already laid out for us. Having all of the characters come together was fun and kept it fresh. I appreciate that with most of them, we see both their strengths and their vulnerabilities and how they work with both at once, particularly Cinder and her fears about her own behavior. Excited to keep going with the series! 4/5 ⭐️

Whoa, did this series ever ramp itself up to another level! I mean, like, the PLOT TWISTS OMG. Or even just the plot EXPANSION. I‘m just... still so hyped about this book. So much happens, and I loved nearly every second about it. It gets off to an intense start, and only continues from there. SUCH a great addition to the series. Favourite one so far.

I just found Cress to be so dry, Thorne to be so self-inflated and them as a couple was like this random oh, yep #couplealert, ship this now before we change our minds!

That being said, I‘m really tempted to rate this 4 ⭐️ on chapter 61 alone! But reality bites and I personally just see it as more of a 3.5 ⭐️ moment! I‘m guessing a future re-read will be Cress‘s friend prompting additional stars at that time!
