Catwoman: Soulstealer | Sarah J. Maas
post image
Pickpick

Sarah J Maas is absolutely brilliant when it comes to writing kick-ass women who can and will kill for the people she loves.
This is definitely my favourite of the DC Icons.
It's got everything I love; a stong female lead, female friendship, a lot of fighting, bad guys falling in love with good guys and visa versa.
The only thing I missed is Batman, Gotham without Batman just doesn't feel right.

Enchanted_Bibliophile Can someone please make this the new Catwoman movie! We need a good Catwoman movie! 4y
Enchanted_Bibliophile This was my pick for #TheReadingRush prompt; Read a book of a movie you‘ve already seen. And l know this book and movie technically isn't inspired by each other, but the same character inspired them. Anyway the movie sucked, but the book was brilliant ! 4y
Enchanted_Bibliophile @TheAromaofBooks this is also my #BookSpin book for July! 😅 4y

Mehso-so

I'm a bit behind on my #TheReadingRush reviews so bare with me as I try to catch up.

For this one I think I'm in the minority.
While I did find it entertaining, I also found it to be very predictable. Or maybe I've just figured out Sager's style, because I picked up on every little clue he dropped. So the big reveal wasn't that big to me.

Enchanted_Bibliophile In fact the red herring just before the reveal would have shocked me more. At that stages I was actually thinking if this is truly the way it's going I'll be very impressed. But alas it turned into precisely what I expected all along, give and take a few characters. 4y

This author and I feel the same way about science.

It‘s the last day of #thereadingrush, and I hope to finish this book, The Forest Unseen: A Year‘s Watch in Nature, for the “out of doors“ challenge! It is a Pulitzer Prize finalist.

My first ever readathon has been a delight, as I not only learned a lot about my own reading habits and read great books, but, best of all, it introduced me to this lovely place! 👋🏻

Such a Fun Age | Kiley Reid

Pickpick

Read this for #thereadingrush book club and it was certainly worthy of the hype. Deeply relevant, and superbly done, Ms. Reid touches on so many of the complex issues that can motivate and mar personal relationships - race, class, social comparison and competition, curated personas, lost sense of self - & manages to write deeply flawed characters, in even their worst moments, with deliberate (if arguably undeserved) empathy.

rjsthumbelina Hoping I can finish it up tonight! 4y

Inspired by Disability Visibility, the essay collection I‘m enraptured by this week, I thought I‘d share how I read. I‘m chronically ill and lately can only sit up or hold books briefly. I use an e-reader in a clamp over my bed. (Yep, that‘s my ceiling!) The audio-based accessibility feature intended for blind / low vision users turns the pages for me. Accessibility can help anyone. If you have questions, feel free!

tenar Just read a relatable bit in this book: “Some of that journey to recovery involved regaining abilities, but a lot of it was about finding new ways to do the same things.” -A.H. Reaume 4y

tenar @LeahBergen It is! With this I‘ve been able to read twice as many books this month as I had read all year. Thank you! ❤️ 4y

What a fun adventure!
Pairing two of my favourites Neil and Chris this book was everything I'd hoped it to be.
Beautifully illustrated, fun, quirky and just the escapade I was looking for.

I seem to go through these stages, a few years back it was all Greek Mythology, the Roman Mythology and now it's Norse Mythology. And this book delivered just the right dosages to keep me entertained and enlightened.

Enchanted_Bibliophile This was also my pick for #TheReadingRush : Read a book in a genre that you‘ve always wanted to read more of. 4y
