I really enjoyed this series. This book brings all of the characters into one place and culminates in a war to overthrow the evil Queen Levana. I will admit to sometimes being bored and struggling to feel that the book was dragging on. Overall, though I liked it and, as Book 4 of the series, you just can't miss out on the end of the story!

This conclusion to the Lunar Chronicles is the most epic installment of the series, the most adventure-packed…and also my least favorite. I enjoyed Winter the character more than Winter the book! I just got lost in all the political machinations—even though I appreciate how much work Marissa Meyer put into staging a realistic uprising— I just really felt how long this one is. I really enjoyed the ending however!

This Series was so adventurous! I loved it so much and would highly recommend! Favorite Character was Iko, hands down haha! I always love a good side character that's funny with a good heart. I'm feeling under the weather lately, so gonna take a break and stay in bed most of the day and read! I hope I get close to finishing the tagged book. I had no idea it was 800 pages when I started reading it!

I‘ve been doing some rereads recently. This is the only book of the lunar chronicles that I own which I would like to change. *unpopular opinion* this is my favourite book out of the 4 (close second is Scarlet)

I‘m so glad I made time to reread this series. I actually found I enjoyed Winter and Jacin story more this time and wished we had more time with them. Kai and Cinder are the best royal couple ever! The ending work more for me this time. It‘s nice when you reread something and it only increases your love for characters and story. I can definitely see myself re-reading this again❤️❤️

1 - I usually have one “main“ book, and then several that are chapter-a-day(ish) reads - buddy reads, nonfiction, “hard“ books, etc.
2 - I've read a lot of books I've really enjoyed this year, but the tagged book/series definitely popped into mind. I wasn't expected to enjoy these nearly as much as I did. I've bailed on several books this year and always like to make a small notation as to why I did so, so here⬇

These two. For a book that was 800 pages, felt only 400. Big, yet not too big. Only thing was Winters Snow White wasn‘t much retelling compared to the others stories. Still fit very well. So much was going on, yet never felt overwhelming. I felt most for Scarlet and Wolf, with all they‘ve been through. Cress & Thorne really grew on his speech at the end. Didn‘t fully get Winter & Jacin. Not enough time for me.
Kai & Cinder? perfect for each other.

Finished Winter by Marissa Meyer!! LOVED THIS BOOK!!! Definitely my favourite out of the lunar chronicles. Winter was amazing and I loved how her character was written. Kai and Cinders story progressed so much and cant wait to see how it finishes. Thorne and Cress gave me life. I loved their story with all my heart. Wolf and Scarlets story was PERFECTION. Wolf is such a precious character and Scarlet balances out the sweetness with (continued)

This is the technical conclusion of the Lunar Chronicles (although there are also two graphic novels and some short stories) and although it was 823pgs, it didn't feel too long as there was SO much going on. I felt like the build-up to the rebellion was realistic in both the setbacks and successes. Reading Fairest before this book really did work, because I felt more connected to Levana and her choices as well. Overall, I 100% recommend this ⬇

Winter despises her stepmother, and knows Levana won't approve for her childhood friend--the palace guard, Jacin. But Winter isn't as weak as Levana believes her to be and she's been undermining her stepmother's wishes for years. Together with the cyborg, Cinder, and her allies, Winter might even have the power to launch a revolution and win a war that's been raging for far too long.

“Broken isn't the same as unfixable.“

A worthy ending to this fast-paced YA / Sci-Fi series, although I feel like Meyer could have just skipped the whole Winter character as she didn‘t do anything except looking good.

Wow! What an ending.

I've been devouring this series, and I'm sad that it's over, but it was such a fun read. This book is the biggest of the four, but you won't notice because it's full of so much action. 😁

If reimagined fairy tales, or YA sci-fi interests you, you should definitely read this series.

A wonderful conclusion to the series. While this book did seem to drag at some points (and the final battle against Levana herself felt a bit anti-climactic) seeing team Cinder pull together on Luna (which was super cool btw) and win the day was a cathartic ending to the series. I feel better for finally finishing the series.

I thought about just making this a four star book, but why? I had no complaints. This was a great end to a great series. I‘m so glad I finally read them.

Wait, no, this series can't be over, I need more! This was such a good finale - plenty of action, plenty of romance. I'm so glad everyone got their happily ever afters! #yalit #retellings

Bookish song Nr. 25: Unwell

I was still suffering from a bad book hangover after finishing Winter, when this song came up on Deezer. My first thought was: That's Winter!
But I was unsure, if it really was a song for her. Then the song kept on playing and Winter just stayed in my head and refused to leave.
Now the connection is stuck and the more I listen to the song, the better it fits.

So, there's this book character called Winter. And she crawled into my heart. And I guess she likes it there, because I guess she'll stay there. Then I'll keep her warm and comfy and save.

I closed the book with one side being so happy for them all, and the other side of me feeling sad that the serie's over. Now I need to look out for the short stories.
