Flat out fun! If you like Firefly or ST:TNG this one will definitely fit the bill. Cannot wait for the next one in the series!!!!
This book is giving me Firefly type feels.
This little sweetheart is either getting a cold or working on a tooth - either way, she‘s not happy and insists she needs to sleep on me. I‘m super into this book right now but keep having to put it down and rest my arms... #booknerdproblems #momproblems
One child woke up at 5am, the other refused to take his nap today. It was a rough day. The plus side is that they both went to bed super early and I actually get a little time to enjoy myself tonight! This book is really fun so far ☺️ #audiocrochet
August totals! 12 books in all. First 6 listed were audiobooks. One of my favorites from this month was Aurora Rising, though another shoutout goes to The Restaurant at the End of the Universe for getting me through labor with my son. 😂

Guys, I just bought a new car. And it‘s so. Much. Money. But my car got totaled on Thursday (everyone is okay) so... I‘m celebrating/freaking out a little with beer and a book in the backyard. Also my dad, who went with me, is loving the Honda CR-V song and wants to play it when we walk into the dealership to finish the paperwork. 😆😆
I have a feeling that this is going to be my favorite read from my August TBR. I don‘t think I could write a better review than this one that already exists (linked below), but if you like Star Trek vibes mixed with the story progression coming from different character perspectives - then you‘ll love this book.
⭐️⭐️What killed this story was the writing. The dialogue was cringe, & the constant use of name calling to be funny got played out. The endless references of LOTR for Kal was obnoxious. The first time, funny, then it kept happening & lost its funny. None of the characters stood out, i did like Kal. Also a rushed love story. I also was not sad at all when i was supposed to be & that is due to having zero connection to any of the characters.
#84 of my year! I have not read The Illuminae Files but those are on my TBR for sure. This cover is so freaking beautiful I had to buy it. If I end up really liking this one then I will definitely buy the other series.
I think that this book was overhyped and it made me not enjoy it as much as I wish i could have. I was waiting for a copy of this for MONTHS and when I finally got it last week... like I read it in one day but mostly because I knew that if I put it down I wouldn‘t want to finish it. Ever.
(I‘m just glad my ship took off by the end of the book. So ⭐️⭐️⭐️.)
1. Such a good book.
2. Both, but crunchy currently
4. Realistically I‘d pay for my cats dental work and try to pay down my bills. Unrealistically I‘d buy tickets to Croatia or Slovenia and maybe Italy.
5. Maybe kindergarten or third grade? Sometime in elementary school where I didn‘t have so much anxiety.

I don‘t know who or what prompted me to put this on my TBR list but I am so thankful because this book was amazing! I loved each member of the squad (admittedly some more than others) and their journey. Would love to see this on the big screen. I‘m sick I have to wait for book 2!!! 😱
Most definately one of my favorite YA books of the year so far. I am a sucker for a ragtag bunch of misfits! 😁💕📚
No clue how this ending up on my TBR or who recommended it but I am loving this #audiobook 🎧 so far. The narration is great too!
I didn‘t think I‘d like this since I hated Illuminae, but I wanted to give this a chance and I ended up LOVING it!
Aurora was a bit bland and somewhat of a Mary Sue, but I liked the other characters. I don‘t understand how the authors managed to fit a “mating” bond in the story and I didn‘t think the POVs were distinct enough from each other, but these were the only issues I had with it.
Just finished Aurora Rising and it is amazing!! The characters are so well developed. The world is so freaking interesting. The plot was so well done. So many plot twists. So much unpredictability! In love with this book. I need book 2, literally yesterday! Thinking about rereading via audiobook straight away. 😁

1. Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff - I am obsessed with this book already!
2. Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston - it was amazing! Definitely one of my 2019 favorites and I loved the audio production, too.
3. This afternoon I had coffee with two friends I hadn't seen in ages. Also, lots of reading. 😄
My signed special edition of Aurora Rising came today & it‘s beautiful. You can‘t see it in the picture but the pages are sprayed purple.
