#BFC week two was a weird one. The kids finally went back to school and I was slammed at work making up for a week of snow days and getting ready for a trip to visit my in-laws in Florida. Then a day of almost no movement because we were driving. Finally we‘re in Florida and spending as much time as possible outside with huge step totals to prove it.

I‘ve read almost nothing in a week and a half. I‘m hoping my reading brain restores itself 🤞

wanderinglynn Enjoy your trip! ☀️ 5d

IndoorDame My take life as it comes attitude. 6d
wanderinglynn @kimmypete1 I don‘t think that‘s weird at all. Organization skills are important and not everyone has that skill. I love a good spreadsheet. In fact, that‘s what I use to keep track of #BFC! 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @BarkingMadRun love it! 🙌🏻💜 6d
MoMogrl I love that I've finally found my mental and physical strength that I struggled with for my whole life. 6d

Julsmarshall My positive attitude 😊 6d
marleed Particularly during this pandemic I love that I‘m content and happy in my own company. 6d
wanderinglynn @eanderson it is tough to compliment ourselves but it‘s important to do so, to appreciate ourselves as much as we appreciate other people. And that‘s a great thing to love! 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @Chrissyreadit fantastic! 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @Julsmarshall love it! 🙌🏻💜 6d

Roary47 I love that when someone is in need of help I don‘t hesitate to offer some. 💛 6d
wanderinglynn @5280reader wonderful! 🙌🏻💜 6d
KathyWheeler This is extremely hard for me; I‘m much better at pointing out what I don‘t like. So, here we go: I love that I‘m a survivor— that I show surprising resilience in the face of difficulties. 6d
wanderinglynn @CoffeeNBooks fantastic! 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @Roary47 love it! 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @KathyWheeler We are own own worst critics! That‘s why we need to stop once in a while to focus on what we do like about ourselves. It‘s important to take time to look at ourselves to say “self, I love you because [x].” We easily do this for others but rarely for ourselves. And when we do this, the impact it makes for ourselves is amazing. And fantastic answer! 🙌🏻💜 6d
Susanita I love my quirky sense of humor. 6d
Chrissyreadit @so many amazing answers! This was a great thread Lynn ♥️♥️♥️ 6d
Bookgoil I love how empathetic I am ❤️ 6d

wanderinglynn @phantomx awesome! 🙌🏻💜 6d
AbigailJaneBlog I love my drive and dedication to my aims 💕 6d
PageShifter Wow, it's hard to answer - always easier to find things I don't like, haha. But I gave this some time and then I found my answer: I find joy from tiny things, and I also share these with people near me. I think (or hope) I share my positivity this way and get people feel good. At least my dad always says how he misses my laugh. 6d
wanderinglynn @AbigailJaneBlog awesome! 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @PageShifter we are our own worst critic. And that‘s why it‘s crucial to also see the awesome too. Fantastic answer! 🙌🏻💜 6d
TheAromaofBooks It is so fun to read through everyone's answers on this post!! I love that I have a positive attitude about life - finding the silver linings gets me through a lot of difficult days!! 6d
crazyspine Once I make up my mind to do something; I never give up. 6d
wanderinglynn @TheAromaofBooks I agree! And wonderful answer! 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @crazyspine love it! 🙌🏻💜 6d
OriginalCyn620 I love my sense of humor and I love that I can make others laugh. I also love my being able to find gratitude and beauty in each day, even if it‘s something small. The world is a mess but there‘s still beauty if you look for it. And no matter how bad things seem, there‘s always to be grateful for! 🤍 6d
Crazeedi I love that I'm loyal, and I don't hold a grudge 6d
Moonprismpower I love myself enough to ask for help. From my therapy to my asking for antidepressants, knowing that I can‘t just do this on my own. I‘m honest with myself. 6d
wanderinglynn @OriginalCyn620 fantastic! I totally agree on finding beauty & being grateful 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @Crazeedi awesome! 🙌🏻💜 6d
wanderinglynn @Moonprismpower wonderful! 🙌🏻💜 6d
Lynnsoprano I love that I‘m not afraid to stand up for myself. 6d
wanderinglynn @Lynnsoprano yes! Fantastic! 🙌🏻💜 6d
Lynnsoprano @WanderingBookaneer And, on a lighter note, I love that, at 70, I can still hit a high C—most of the time 😂 6d
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick My curiosity. I am always reading/researching places and things that are mentioned by friends, I read about, and I see on TV. If something's already not working, I can't break it more so I'll tinker to see if I can work backwards on the problem to fix it. If a friend will be traveling, I like to see what they might experience. And since no one went with a physical trait, I will say I love my green eyes. 6d
wanderinglynn @Lynnsoprano that‘s wonderful! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 My mother had to switch to alto/mezzo soprano because she can no longer hit high C. 6d
wanderinglynn @Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick awesome! 🙌🏻💜 And I love that you also mentioned a physical trait. 6d
BookishBelle What a great idea for a post, Lynn! I love that I enjoy ‘nerdy‘ things unselfconsciously. I love my slightly cracked sense of humor. I love my sense of adventure that I‘ve discovered as I‘ve gotten older. 6d
wanderinglynn @BookishBelle thanks! I‘ve greatly enjoyed reading all the responses—so much positivity. And fantastic answer! 🙌🏻💜 6d
Cheshirecat913 Great topic! I enjoyed reading through it. As for me, I love that I have a smile that comes easily to me and more often than not helps put people at ease or cheers them. 6d
wanderinglynn @Cheshirecat913 lovely! 🙌🏻💜 6d
britt_brooke In the last few years, I‘ve gotten more comfortable in my skin and with my interests, and have stopped caring as much about what other people are doing/thinking. I like who I am. 💚 5d
DogMomIrene Reading these answers is definitely making me smile. I love how much I‘ve embraced being a dog mom. I had never been a dog person. I was usually the person dogs would come to and I was always like, “I‘m just not into you”😂 Now I get the dog love thing! Figuring out new ways to make the life of my two even richer is so much fun and something I never would have anticipated about my personality. 5d
niftytiffd @wanderinglynn I love my creativity 💙 5d
mcipher I love that I teach yoga and give people the gift of chilling out, feeling good in their bodies, and resting. It‘s a pain to drag myself to class every week and then I love teaching so much and I love how happy and relaxed people are after class. I‘m so proud of myself for making that little one hour difference in their lives. 5d
Moll This is so lovely; and thank you for sharing everyone!😊 The first thing that came to mind right now for me was my determination, & I also like to think I have a genuinely good heart - I really do care about making sure that everyone is okay❤ 5d
wanderinglynn @britt_brooke love it! 🙌🏻💜 5d
wanderinglynn @DogMomIrene when you find the right dog, when they pick you, it‘s magic. 🐶🧡 Fantastic answer! 🙌🏻💜 (edited) 5d
wanderinglynn @niftytiffd awesome! 🙌🏻💜 5d
wanderinglynn @mcipher wonderful! 🙌🏻💜 5d
wanderinglynn @Moll fantastic! 🙌🏻💜 5d
thelastmabelcorn I love my smile and my work ethic/determination 5d
wanderinglynn @thelastmabelcorn love it! 🙌🏻💜 5d
Read4life I love that so many of my kids‘ friends/teammates call me their 2nd mom. I‘m there with a smile, a joke, a hug, a shoulder and encouragement. I love that they know I‘ll always be honest with them so they truly listen to my suggestions and they know my praise/compliments are genuine. I love that I can positively affect so many young people in such an informal way. 4d
wanderinglynn @Read4life wonderful! 🙌🏻💜 4d
Jennifer3 My big heart - the fact I am able show my emotions when something is touching or sad. (edited) 4d
wanderinglynn @Jennifer3 why would you not show emotions when something is touching or sad? 4d
Jennifer3 @wanderinglynn That needed an edit! I do show my emotions and I finally appreciate it after years of being criticized for it often at work. 4d
wanderinglynn @Jennifer3 I was hoping that was a mistype! And that‘s wonderful! 🙌🏻💜 4d
NovelGirl82 This is difficult- I love that I am able to be a good role model for my nieces and nephews and show them that it‘s ok to love reading and learning and that those things can give you a wonderful life (and that it‘s definitely ok to love the things that you love, even if people think that you‘re a nerd for it😊). 3d
wanderinglynn @NovelGirl82 Yes, it is difficult and it is important. 😘 Love it! 🙌🏻💜 3d
Sresendez12 I love my work ethic and that I‘m raising my daughter to know what it‘s like to work hard to achieve your goals 2d
wanderinglynn @Sresendez12 wonderful! 🙌🏻💜 2d
katy4peas I love that I am getting better at acknowledging when something is a no for me-like a job or something else. 2h

As I was switching out my water cooler bottle today I realized I never posted my #BFC2022 goals. I really was not up for measuring out every ounce in January so I just wanted to finish the 5 gallon bottle from the photo plus one. Halfway there already! Also I want to average 33 Fitbit active zone minutes per day and read 12 books for the month.

slategreyskies Oh, I forgot to do a #BFC post too! I‘ll make mine later this morning. Great goals you‘ve chosen! Best of luck with them! 🙌 1w
wanderinglynn Great goals! 🙌🏻 1w

#BFC 2022 update week 1

This was a wild week. It started with hiking in shorts and was followed by a destructive snow storm. Then a Covid diagnosis for my son, a leaky sink, and a little more snow. 🤷‍♀️ 2022

But I did make progress on my goals. I hit my step count and spent 30 minutes outside each day except for 1. When I got the Covid news I did some contact tracing then curled up in a ball.

Listened to 2 audiobooks while active.

slategreyskies Hope your son feels better soon! 💕 2w
DanaManiac Aww I hope your son is feeling better soon! 2w
wanderinglynn That‘s a lot for one week! I hope your son feels better. 💚 Great job on your goals! 🙌🏻 (edited) 2w

I am going to try to start posting my monthly goals for #bfc again!

📖 Read 5 books
🏋️ Workout 60 minutes/day
😴 1 rest day each week (60 min will be meditation, walk, restorative yoga)
🧘🏻‍♀️ Meditate every day
🫒 Eat healthy 90% of the time

These overlap with a 75 day personal challenge I am doing that is a softer version of 75 hard (because 75 hard is NOT a healthy program)

Read-y_Picker Great goals! 90% is fantastic. I might try to implement this. Happy new year! 3w
KathyWheeler I had never heard of the 75 Hard challenge before, so I looked it up. It looks unsustainable. 3w
mklong Which 75 day challenge are you doing? I have looked at 75 Hard and you are right, it seems too demanding and unforgiving for me. 3w
See All 9 Comments
4thhouseontheleft @mklong I made up my own. My rules are: 1. Eat healthy 90% of the time 2. Read a chapter (or 30 min) of nonfiction every day 3. Workout 60 min/day, 6x/wk 4. One recovery day/wk 5. Meditate 10 min/day 3w
4thhouseontheleft @Read-y_Picker happy New Year!!🎊 3w
4thhouseontheleft @KathyWheeler The guy who created it has zero background in health, wellness or nutrition. It‘s definitely unsustainable and can lead to injury or other problems if done to the letter. 3w
KathyWheeler @4thhouseontheleft The idea that you have to start over again if you miss one task during any given day seems completely demoralizing. Anything with no flexibility built into it is setting the person doing it up for failure. I don‘t trust things like this from people who have no background in health or wellness. (edited) 3w
4thhouseontheleft @KathyWheeler I agrée! The all of nothing approach rarely works. I just like doing challenges of all kinds, which is why I made my own version ? (edited) 3w
wanderinglynn Great goals! 🙌🏻👏🏻 3w

I have set my Goodreads Reading Challenge goal at 52 books, so I keep in with that and proclaim my goal to be an average of a book a week, making my January goal 4 books.

My “fitness” goal is to maintain a good diary. It‘s the one thing more than anything else that helps me lose weight, but I‘ve been very lax over the last couple of years.

#BFC #BFC2022 @wanderinglynn

KathyWheeler Keeping track of what I do (I use MyFitnessPal to keep track of food and a spreadsheet to keep track of reading and exercise) really helps keep me motivated. What kind of diary are you thinking about? 3w
TheEllieMo @KathyWheeler I use MyFitnessPal - very halfheartedly for a while, need to get back to tracking everything daily. 3w
wanderinglynn Great goals! 🙌🏻👏🏻 3w

Book goal- attempt a #BookspinBingo blackout every month
Physical goal - 10,000 steps a day
Nutritional goal- eat more vegetables and commit to less food waste (I‘m sometimes better at buying veggies than using them)
Mental goal- 30 minutes outside per day
Spiritual goal- Write in my gratitude journal each day

#BFC @wanderinglynn

wanderinglynn Wow! Great goals. You‘re really challenging yourself! Way to go! 🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 3w
Roary47 I feel you on food waste. When they are going south I give them to my ducks and chickens. I think they get more than we do. 😅 3w
Bookwormjillk @Roary47 hmmm I‘ve always wanted to raise ducks and chickens 🐓 3w

#BFC Ideally, I would cut out refined sugar, but my goal is to stay within my WW points.
Book goal is to read 6 books. This month; I finished 2 today, so I think it's doable. @wanderinglynn
